  1. Assa Tanks will have the lower damage mitigation by far, their avoidance (defense) and shield abs is useless in pvp and MOST bosses. Our CD don't reduce all damage type like the other tanks.

Bioware, you have no idea what-so-ever of how things work in your game....

If you go with this changes, then you have to give CDs that actually work in PvE and PvP and something to compensate the difference in the damage reduction.

  2. short TTK isn't an issue with one class, its an issue with gear and damage numbers across many classes

also the game isn't balanced around 1v1

also saying that someone who is more skilled than you always beats you doesn't prove anything

dude, that is bs and you know it

7 mara and 1 healer and you CANT lose

  3. GW1 was a totally instanced game, the only place where you could interact with people was in towns and outposts..

so like swtor? because you only see people in the fleet and wz...otherwise it is freaking barren? ;)

  4. I've been 50lvl since March, play on a Standard RP server. Still have more things to do than I can fathom. I've got half a dozen alts ranging from 47 to 10.

Guess that shoots your theory down, eh?

First of all, not everyone enjoys running 90% of the content over and over.

Secondly, it is not about how much content, it is about content you enjoy doing.

If you have played any modern MMO, you will get the "been there, done that with a different skin" feeling really soon.

The lack of population balance and servers going ghost town are just making this more evident.

  5. At peak time, the population in the old un-offcial APAC servers is next to nil now, so that means that people transferring toons are already playing there. The servers are full because most Aussies re-roll there and are playing alts.

You are in a hard position. Someone will have to bite the bullet and cope with latency. You either stay in dead servers to play or you move to the new ones and your US players re-roll / transfer there

  6. Well, if you finished KOTOR 3, did you also finish KOTOR 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10?

biodrone speech again: "Why do you roll an alt?!"

Because, I dont want to play a boring quest mechanic, spending 40% of my time running for point A to B then back to A then....ohh kill big bad dude in point B! just to play 5-10% or new content.

If you tell me that the class story is more than 5-10% of the levelling experience, I will fight you.

  7. 1.2 is the pinnacle of MMOs

    a) Customizable UI. Fair enough, you can't add quickslots or drag and drop windows outside the editor. We even lost the option to drag and drop the operation frames, but HEY, "custimisable UI"

    b) A New WZ...you can't queue for it, but you might have the chance to play it once every 1 hour or so!

    c) Combat log! you can't see ****! but hey! you can't download a 3rd party tool and see (kind of) your performance.

    d) Legacy...the best thing since the invention of the toilet (funny enough, both are full of the same stuff). The RPer dream come true...you can manage your family tree!.... just your alts tho...what? you wanted to include "other people" ***? what is this a game to be social! dont you know what MMO stand for?

    e) no more trilogies! healers? nah...you dont need them anymore...everyone DPS!!...even if you see one is a wz, you can breath really hard and he will died before he can heal himself! silly healers! Still room for improvements though...I think BW should auto mark healer in WZ....that will serve them well!

  8. No game breaking bugs?

SOA? Pylons? those are common and you will be lucky not to experience a bug in those fights every run.

Then you have more random ones or specific to some classes. Replicator boss (D7) constantly cloning Mercs.

Fabricator in KP dropping 2 set of stun/mine droids in a single cycle.

EV and KP showing 16man trash and bosses for 8 man ops....

just to name a few at the top of my head

  9. Unsubbing cuz Bioware wants to make sure rated WZ's work properly? wow... i bet these same people would be on the forums complaining about how broken it is if Bioware decided to release it in its current state

yes, they are unsubbing because they pulled out at the last second. They lured people through false advertise (1.2 trailer) and because, it is likely, they kept this issue in the shadow.

If they wanted to wait for a perfect (or near perfect) product, they shouldn't have released the game at all in December. This game has at this moment, tons of bugs that frustrate people.

Don't lie to yourselves, the reason they released the game 4 months ago was money, the reason they didn't delayed 1.2 is money (stop people unsubbing and hope to bring people back)

It is not really about ranked wz, it is about how you manage a mmo community....The hype and lightsabers will only last a bit, lying/misleading will get you no-where

  10. Why are people arguing about dropping population or not?

Who cares about what was published in Feb?

Anyone that has played for the last few months knows, as a fact, that population has dropped considerably.

My server went from 150-180 people at the fleet @ pick time, to 20-40....

I'm also sure that the top 4 servers have lost very little in real terms. People is gone, but they were replaced by people the bite the bullet and re-rolled in one of those servers.

  11. Just to put my 2 cents in these changes. Nerfing sometime is required to stablize or balance the game/challenges. The issue is "How far will it go".

Personally from experience, this can only go 2 ways.

    1. You cather for 5% of the player community. The so call "Hard Core" Players who want to see everything become an impossible challenge to no end. That way if they conquer it and are the only of a few wearing the gear, they are happy with the nerf.

    2. You cather to 100% of the players and make the 5% not happy. The so called Casuals/Semi Hard Core players. That way more people seem to want to play the game.

The Normal, Hard Mode and Nightmare was achieving that at this point in time. Nerfing everything because players was able to get through most of the flashpoints and Normal may not be the right way to go. You still have to remember that the current content has not been conquered by all so the statistics can sometime be misleading as it is being tested by Top level players at the top of their game.

I still believe that it was a mistake to take away Normal and call it Storyline. This should have stayed the way it was. Most casual players I talked too were pleased with it, but the hard core peeps were not happy about it. I think that probable the Nightmare should have been more difficult. Hard Mode was pretty close to what it should be.

Nerfing Healing is not a way to fix things either. I believe that I was somewhat easier for some class and harder for another. Some players have had a hard time playing a sage and still can't heal as good as others even tho they were calling it OP. If anything, healers are where they should be except for smuggler healers, they need a bit of a boost.

Focus on content, make some eazy and some hard (nightmare), balance some classes to a minimum change. Focus on fixing the current problems in the game. Create events that players will love participating in. If you don't fix issues, unbalance classes, create FP's that are unattainable, make the game not so fun anymore. only one thing will result of it: Account Cancellation.

I wrote games, thaught Gaming Design in College and played MMO for a long time. And I am still a Software Engineer. The Business is your Clients, Listen well and make sure your Design meet the Scope Requirement from your Business, The Account Holders.

    Cheers

Nerfing heals is the easiest (read laziest) solution for BW.

You can't nerf the DPS community (which is not the solution either), because their outrage will be louder than healers (bigger community without any doubt). Nerfing DPS also will have shotgun effects given that the majority of the raid mechanics are around enrage timers.

Also, nerfing across all dps classes will be harder.

You can't nerf tanks...aggro and mitigation in this game are quite simple...there is no much to play around unless you reduce one of them, which will have implications across all classes.

Now, about healing nerf, I dont think they can put these changes on live....it might be ok for Ops...you can affort to have an extra healer or a hybrid. But people is having problems with HM FP, which are tuned for 1 healer, 1 tank, 2 dps. And these are people with full columi, good healers, having issues with FP such as FE...which is pretty easy if you ask me.

  12. So to mimic the nerfs best I can on live, I just heal two warzones and got 100k and top healing both times

I heal with the following rules

    -no Hammer shot

    -no Kolto Shell

    -no Kolto Missile

    -no Combat Support Cylinder

Basically all I use was Healing Scan and Rapid Scan

Now the nerfs on 1.2 are not as bad as what I just heal with and now I'm going to see if I can heal flashpoints and I'm sure I'm going to be able to.

Great! I usually do 50K heals on my tank (self heals)

    This proves?

  13. I am sorry but the sage/trooper healers on lord calypho want a word with you these guys on the rep side are unstoppable and its the way they combine their pre mades and props to them they know how strong that combination is and are using the op healing mechanics to great effect so dry your eyes easy mode has finished for you well done GZ and BW:p

    1) class are mirrored (as much as BW bad design allow it. E.g. animations). So, if you are getting owned, well, look at your team, there must be some noobs around

    2) BW is allowing pre-mades. It is part of the game which I dont agree with. If you want a pre-made, only allow it in ranked pvp now that is an options

    3) By OP healing mechanic are you referring to a bug? if that's the case, fix the bug.

  14. what are unrealistic expectations?

That most of the critical bugs get fixed in a respetable timeframe? SOA keeps bugging, Pylons keep bugging, I can't run (as many others) D7 without bugging one of the bosses, many DS BH can't finish they story due to a bug....

Stop comparing WoW with this game...when WoW was release, MMO were just starting, broadband was in its infancy, distributed computing was like rocket science.... technology has improved a lot in 7 years...so, STOP saying (yeah, but WoW had as many bugs when released)

Would you be happy with an Iphone/Android phone release today with all the bugs that the original iphone/android had? No, so why is this different.

And my last point. WoW had a great support team, if something bugged out, you will get an answer in-game after a few minutes.... I have tickets in my support screens for WEEKS now. (funny enough, one of the tickets is about a bug in the ticket tool)
