  1. My suggested improvements (not that the devs are likely to read them or act on them):

#1 More companion and npc slots available in strongholds.

#2 The Rishi cliffside apartment expanded with more useful rooms and a rooftop garden, also a waterfall and stream near to the apartment. (The apartment is really the only part of the Rishi stronghold that gets regular use because frankly the rest of the stronghold is an eyesore.)

#3 An Odessen stronghold accessible from the base.

#4 Vanilla love interest companions given new dialogue, story and short quests.

#5 Get vanilla companions' mouths moving again.

#6 Let companions ride with player characters in suitably sized vehicles.

#7 More alliance themed banners, flags, furnishings, guards and npcs for player strongholds.

#8 Make the alliance a viable third faction.

#9 If a mission/quest chain starts out soloable/story mode then it should have the option to finish in soloable/story mode like SoR. No more group or operations at the end of a solo mission chain.

  2. I think most companion issues are solved, but not the missing Quinns. My Quinns are from Repulic aligned Pubs who retrieved him from the Companion Locator Terminal. Someone else started a bug thread for a romanced Republic-aligned Warrior. I recommend everyone who has a missing Quinn post in the bug forum to try and get some traction. I'm afraid it'll never get fixed now that 5.10.2 brought so many new bugs.

Sounds like my Sith Warrior will remain Alliance Commander on Odessen then.

  3. Hi, have been away from the game for a number of weeks due to heavy university commitments and as this is the first day of my mid-semester break I logged into the forums and the game to discover that a new expansion is coming. :)

I guess my main questions are:

Is there any official word that new strongholds will be released?

Is there any chance that the Rishi apartment will be expanded?

Will Odessen get its own stronghold?

    That's all.

    Cheers from Oz.

  4. My Sith Warrior is my Outlander. She is the only one of my characters to fully complete both 'Knights' expansions and is the only one to gain the Alliance Commander achievement and title for my Legacy.

My other characters (who are her sisters, adopted sisters) and who are midway through the 'Knights' expansions also wear the Alliance Commander title, but because they are subordinate in rank to her, they take on the leadership role when my Sith Warrior is called away on a mission or is on leave with her husband Quinn and young family.

The rest of the extended family (Legacy) have not begun the 'Knights' expansions but the non-force users, and all crews wear Alliance uniforms to show their allegiance to the Alliance which is commanded by my Legacy.

  5. Quinn's an imperfect man, who makes imperfect decisions. I'm sure his decisions are sometimes affected by the fact that he has to fear for his life, because a sith could easily kill him. I do understand why someone would see him as disloyal and opportunistic, but I don't think that's actually the case. I think he's in fact an idealist, who so desperately wants to be loyal, that he actually fails at it several times. :rak_03:

If anyone is interested I explored Quinn in my fan-fiction last year retelling the meeting between my full Light-aligned Sith Warrior Sul and her long-lost husband Quinn.

  6. Hi,

Can you please consider adding a room or three (especially with windows looking out to the bay) onto the upper levels of the Rishi Stronghold apartment.

The big barn-like rooms up the back of the Fortress are okay, but not at all suitable for residential living.

An expanded Rishi apartment would allow us to create a guest room, more entertainment and living areas, or a personal medical centre. Also consider an accessible roof top garden on top of the apartment where we can put chairs, foliage and a water feature.

Speaking of a water feature, any chance of a waterfall and a stream flowing onto the beach similar to the landscape on Rakata Prime (flashpoint).

    Thanks in advance.

  7. There are the Iokath Alliance Officer and Iokath Alliance Soldier decos that you can get from the Iokath reputation vendor (I use these around my Tatooine stronghold since it's the home of my Alliance Commander), but I agree that there needs to be a lot more variety.

Thanks for that info. I found Iokath to be an annoying planet so didn't follow up on the dailies there. I'll get stuck into the dailies enough to be able to replace all my existing Republic/Imperial guards.

    Cheers!

  8. Different stances would be cool, it means I could devote one part of my stronghold to a force-user training area. However, for my Alliance Commander's apartments I'd like to replace the Imperial and Republic guards in my Stronghold with guards kitted out in Alliance uniforms. The guards could be in a position of rest - either cradling their weapons, or in an at ease stance. I'd also like to replace all the Imperial and Republic banners with Alliance banners as well.

Until BW makes a dedicated Odessen stronghold, my Rishi stronghold has to make do for my Alliance Commander as her home away from Odessen, because really the tiny private quarters in Odessen just isn't big enough and lacks any kind of capacity to make it unique with decorations.

  9. Cartel Market Suggestion - Alliance Personnel Bundle

It is high time that Alliance personnel were granted their own unique uniforms instead of their old Imperial/Republic uniforms.

Various personnel wearing Alliance uniforms -

Military (uniform based on Alliance Reconnaissance Armour set)

    Medics/Science (medical uniforms/scrubs)

Force users (red and black robes with Alliance badging)

Underworld (perhaps a standard red and black jacket)

These uniforms could also be granted to Odessen Base personnel once a player character has attained the highest reputation with the Alliance. Also, we need more Alliance flags and other decoration items that we can display on our Strongholds as some of us may have Alliance themed strongholds.

  10. I can't talk about future plans, so, sorry I can't answer that question. However, what are all of your thoughts? Do you want to see new planets? Do you want to see expanded areas on existing planets? Both?

    Let us know!

    -eric

I'd like more done with Odessen - I'd like to see added a significant quest/mission and exploration area similar in size to Rishi, with dailies where you can build faction with the Alliance. Put some ancient ruins and a network of caves in as well. World-build with waterfalls, rivers and mountain lakes. Also add in player housing adjacent to the Alliance base.

Oh, and make the Alliance a third-faction in 6.0.

    That is all. :)

  11. Hi all, as my Sith Warrior is the Alliance Commander (and patiently waiting for the powers-that-be to make her Alliance a third faction) she is in the process of converting her Stronghold on Star Forge (Invicta Sul's Temple of Light) into the Alliance Commander's home-away-from-Odessen.

As the First Officer of the Alliance, Major Quinn is now wearing an Alliance battle uniform.

If anyone wants to take a peek at my Stronghold, feel free as it is open to the public.

  12. I don't know who all the influencers are. But I'm concerned that the female playership isn't being adequately represented, because desirable male companions like Theron and Quinn and others have been made killable...while Lana survives everything (and it's always with more females...LS/DS event female reward comps, new story, mostly female NPCs). I hope you realize, that not all of us want Lana. Some of us want Theron or our vanilla romance partner in scenes that are relevant to our missions in the future.

I feel like the female players in this game are treated like a joke and I'd appreciate it if the aspects that many of us like would be addressed. For me, I'm concerned that we won't get more scenes with Theron or Quinn or others like them ever again, that it will be always Lana or some new people we don't care about. In JUS, Balkar was a great addition, but only for Republic sympathizers...Imperials should have a better contact than a droid. We want to flirt and have fun too, with someone awesome. Also, you give the guys a cute Twi'lek and a powerful Jedi to deal with and flirt with and we get a dinosaur guy? And a droid? <.< Is that funny to you?

I'm also curious to know if there will be more companions and romances with them for Theron and original LI comps? Anyone new? Who and When? Will there be more decorating and strongholds? Will Quinn get a commemorative statue? (Seriously, I'm still salty about how you guys acted when Iokath came out and it was told that people would get to kill Quinn--you guys seemed practically jubilant about it, giggling, hurr-hurring about it.) Also more male force user romances? (Meaning force using males that female and gay male players can flirt with or romance?) The one you gave doesn't appeal to everyone despite what your influencers or temp writers whisper in your ears.

I'm sorry if I seem harsh, the resentment has been building for a while and I'm tired of my concerns and the aspects of this game that I enjoy being kicked aside.

Eric Musco, I'd encourage you to read and take in what Lunafox wrote. Many of us lady gamers don't appreciate having the husbands and partners of our female characters 'bricked' away. A companion killed-off by some players should not mean killed off for all players. The 'vanilla' and SoR companions should - especially if romanced - be active and ongoing participants in our characters' stories. This issue has been a big one on the forums, and BioWare has given us no clear indication as to their intention towards companions from older content. I'll repeat again the salient point - a companion killed-off by some players should not mean killed off for all players.

As for decorations and strongholds - yes please, Odessen for me and I'll ask yet again, make the Alliance a proper third faction in the game (if you want to see the relevant details, this post will give you ideas: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=953725&highlight=faction).

  13. Great post TrixxieTriss.

A couple of points that I'd like to add - why should BioWare require a virtual 'safe space'? We are after all their customers. We subscribers pay their pay cheques. I always thought that the 'customer was always right' so a business isolating itself from its customers is poor strategy, especially when the business is making crappy decisions and putting the customer offside. Also, a business should not listen to yes-men. As a writer I like positive reviews, but i also know the benefit of considered negative reviews, because only then can I improve my product. Same with a computer game/company. If you want to improve your product then you listen to your customers, especially the ones who are consistently saying that something (or many things) are wrong and are offering considered ideas for improvements.

This is customer service 1.01 and it blows my mind that it has to be explained.

  14. The Alliance should be a separate faction in itself.

    The planet Odessen already exists.

    The banners already exist.

    The base already exists.

Dedicated uniforms (along the lines of the Alliance Recon. set) could be put on all Alliance npcs, followers and personnel.

An Alliance stronghold could be designed.

    Easy as.

  15. As a story/solo player I'd like to echo the comments some others here have made. We've seen progressively less and less story content since 2017. We cannot repeat the story portions of the content that is released. Players said they didn't want to lose more companions and yet 5.10 set the table for that.

It feels as though there isn't going to be a place for players like me going forward, as the game's updates have shifted so drastically toward group content and begun to close off progression options for solo players. If this is the way things are going to go from now on and solo players are going to continue to be squeezed out, I'd rather know now. If all we can expect in future as story players is an hour of content or so every year and minimal interaction with companions and LIs, I'd rather know now, too.

If you're planning on making this a game that is about nothing but Ops and PvP, and grouping is going to become compulsory to progress, just do us a favor and tell us so we can move on.

    Yes to this.

I'm a mature-aged gamer and have played MMORPGs for the last two decades beginning with Ultima Online and playing a host of other games as well. I've been a raider - some raids lasting all day with upwards of 70 participants. I've done the group and duo thing. I've been the leader of a couple of guilds. I've been a roleplayer, and even for a short time a pvper (although it really wasn't my thing).

Now I just play solo at my own speed.

If I wanted to group and raid and do high end content I'd be still in a raiding guild on WoW, but I moved past that. In fact I took a significant break from MMORPGs because I was bored of the endless grind, running endlessly in the mouse-wheel. What drew me back was SWTOR and its stories, its companions, the romances embedded within each storyline. I liked how my characters could actively shape their galaxy through the stories and the choices they made. That's what made this game unique - I'm not even a hard-core SW nut (I'm more into B5), but as a storyteller and writer, well, I loved the stories. So if I were to offer a tad more advice, well it would be that the stories are the core and strength of this game and everything should revolve around good story-telling.

Oh and one last thing (I promise), what you did with SoR was great, I loved how a soloist could, with the help of NPCs, take down a boss mob like Revan. We need more of those kind of endgame encounters so that even soloists can be included in every storyline.

  16. I'm late to the thread - I'm Aussie so it's morning here - but I'll put my 2c worth in. Hopefully it will be read.

My suggestion for the best way to gather player feedback from all players, subscribers and free players is via polling. Poll every and all subject and issue that has arisen.

    Poll at the start-up screen.

Have a new poll each week.

Here are some suggestions that are close to my own heart.

    Q. Would you be in favour of the Alliance becoming a third playable faction? Y/N

    Q. Would you buy a stronghold on Odessen? Y/N

    Q. Would you be in favour of 'vanilla' companions having further content devised for them, even ones who have been 'killed off' by other players? Y/N

    Q. Would you like to custom design your own crew from current companions, available or not? Y/N

    Q. Would you be in favour of relocating your characters to a West Coast Server? Y/N

    You get the idea.

Also, one more thing, make a point of regularly reading the Suggestion Box forum because there is a host of really good ideas there.

Btw, I've made a personal decision to not activate 5.10 - not only because of the bugs, but also because of the companion losses and because I prefer to play with an intact Alliance. I really do believe that the game would be improved with a third-playable Alliance. Please make this happen in 6.0.

  17. This is my post from the other thread:

What I'd really like to know is what groups do Influencers represent? Is there a fair and equitable spread across all playstyles and demographics, or do most influencers predominate in raid/operation endgame combat.

For example, who speaks for me - an Aussie battling red-dot lag, who would appreciate a West Coast server, would really like an Odessen Stronghold, the Alliance as a third-faction, and my choice of companions to accompany my characters in their adventures.

Going by recent decisions (5.10) I see no-one speaking for me and no plan to speak for me in the future. So if no influencer speaks for me, and no-one with influence listens to me (or most other people here), then what exactly do these forums accomplish except to corral everyone with a gripe against the game or an aspect of the game or a good idea for improving the game into one place where they can be easily ignored?

So to answer the question: Should The Influencers Get Preferential Treatment Over The Rest Of The Players?

Unless BioWare works like a political campaign where donors who cough up additional $$$$$ get preferential and special access to candidates; then my answer would be No, and especially Influencers shouldn't get preferential treatment over subscribers when it comes to communication and developer access. We all here pay to play and thus our voices should possess equal weight.

  18. Maybe that explains why there's no communication to us, the plebs on the forums... All the time spent communicating is to influencers?

    Seems a reasonable supposition.

What I'd really like to know is what groups do Influencers represent? Is there a fair and equitable spread across all playstyles and demographics, or do most influencers predominate in raid/operation endgame combat.

  19. Could you kindly return or allow access to those companion characters who are taken away given the decision to betray your original faction prior to Ossus? Even if they don't play a vital role in the story anymore (because they've returned 'home' to their side), many people still invested in those characters with gifts and also use them to stage screenies. It really sucks to have stuff taken away.

We get it, they were loyal to home and have gone, but that doesn't mean they actually have to be unavailable to us.

This is another good reason why I refuse to activate 5.10.

  20. I still cannot comprehend the rationale as to why my Republic Jedi (in KotFE) was released from carbonite by a Sith instead of the SIS Agent Theron. Yeah, I can understand why a Sith was involved in the rescue of my Imperial characters, but surely a Republic agent would be a more logical choice for a Republic character. Also, logically our vanilla love interests should have been right there as well - or our highest rep companions. Doc should have been on hand for my Jedi Knight, Quinn for my Sith Warrior, and Andronikos Revel for my Sith Inquisitor.
  21. For those unwilling or unable to look it up, a Dead Cat Bounce is:

"In finance, a dead cat bounce is a small, brief recovery in the price of a declining stock. Derived from the idea that "even a dead cat will bounce if it falls from a great height", the phrase, which originated on Wall Street, is also popularly applied to any case where a subject experiences a brief resurgence during or following a severe decline." (Wiki)

    There, you learned something new.

It's usually applied to stocks and shares, but also has application to political polling. The application of the term the Dead Cat Bounce to SWTOR is whether the small player resurgence after 5.10 was a lasting thing, or whether the game would continue on its slow downward trajectory.
