I just read your post and noticed you said I should get an i5 2500k, but I already placed my order for this setup (listed below). Do you think the difference will be noticeable, or my system will run the game without problems in HD on high or max settings? Thanks!
MB: ASRock P67 Pro3 rev. B3
CPU: Intel Core i5 2400 3.10GHz box
PoS: Sirtec - High Power Element PLUS 500W
Video: Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II 1GB DDR5 256-bit
Memory: Patriot Signature Line 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL9 (x2, 8gb total)
HDD: Seagate 1TB SATA-III 7200 RPM 64 MB Barracuda
DVD: DVD-Writer LG GH22NS70 black bulk
Case: Segotep Raynor G2R Red
I run with a i3-2100, Win 7 64 bit, 8 gigs DDR3 RAM, and GTX 260 with absolutely no issues (that includes Ilum zergs).

Um... isn't it pretty well known that Bounty Hunters' heat mechanic is a lot more forgiving than Troopers' ammo mechanic in relation to the breakpoints of the various tiers of regeneration rates? Insofar as they pointed out Bounty Hunters only, wouldn't a logical conclusion be that they're re-tuning the breakpoints for the Bounty Hunter regeneration rates to be more in line with the Troopers'?
If I had to venture a guess, that would seem to be the one that makes the most sense.
I hope not. I was hoping that they would bring the Troopers in line with the Bounty Hunters by buffing the Trooper. Heavy healing instances are already a challenge in the Heat category.
As a matter of fact, the same goes for the Mortar Volley/DFA issue. I was hoping they would buff the Trooper instead of nerf the BH.
Then again it may be as others have suggested and just be a mistake by IGN. Maybe it's a nerf across both classes. Time will tell.

That looks a lot like how DAoC's frontiers were setup (as far as the map is concerned).
-
You better copyright that faction name before BioWare takes it.
I wonder if/when there are rated Warzone teams, if this will be one of the first team names.

Except what is the north for Republic is actually the south for the Imps in CW. So East for the Imps is actually West for the Republic. Your directions are not absolute. Left is always left and right is always right. If you can't grasp that then maybe you should go back to Kindergarten...
I personally like to confuse people who talk in General chat. If they call out mid or left, I yell that we need help at another point lol. Lots of fun. Left side is always the turret the far left speeder will take you to if you own that turret. Same with right.
So the Sun rises in the West and sets in the East for South America? Good to know!

also if im not playing with friends ill mvp vote a player i see defending a node all game or someone who lines himself up perfectly for a pass etc. i vote for ppl who win the game for us. if ppl are just trying to get "top damage" by deathmatching in the center then ya they dont get a vote.
if no one stands out, the top healer always then gets my vote.

I see a finger counter.
lol, finger counter, that's good. Mind if I use that sometime?

OT: From my experience, left/right have more success than east/west. 90% of people will go left or right from the spawnpoint with little map-related confusion.
Unfortunately, it's really sad, but true. I worked in the hotel industry for a few years while in college, and we were told to always give directions using left/right instead of east/west. *sighs*
-
LOL I said "inc left" once and got called out because some guy was dyslexic and couldn't tell left from right. He demanded I used east/west but... he was using east/west from the starting point not the global map... can't fix stupid.
*sigh*
-
Yes. And they are not rare.
Unfortunately, this is so true. I want to use East/West, but unfortunately a lot of people need it in terms of Left/Right. It's pretty pathetic.
-
It needs a nerf.
The people saying it doesn't are either playing it themselves or are planning to due to the FOTM train.
No, it doesn't. Tracer Missile doesn't do near the damage most people seem to think it does. What's doing the damage is a properly timed Explosive Dart + 3rd Tracer + Heat Seeking Missile + Railshot. Also, Mercs that manage 450k per game are getting a lot of AoE damage from DFA. Play one in PvP before you make false assessments.
And for what it's worth, I'm a Powertech. I prefer NOT dying a dozen or more times per Warzone.
-
Thanks! I'll have to remember that
Np, not sure why people are complaining about something that is so easily countered.

If you're the ball carrier all you have to do is pass him the ball. It will kill him, and give your team the ball back.

I would eventually like to see a third faction added as well...something neutral or perhaps related to the Hutts or the Exchange. Then Bounty Hunters and Smugglers could be moved to the area they really belong (neutral) as opposed to being forced into the Imperial or Republic side. IMP Troopers and SIS Agents could then replace them on the Imperial and Repulbic sides.
I'm not sure what classes could mirror the consular/SI or warrior/jedi knight for a neutral faction, however...Maybe a Mandalorian (too much like Bounty Hunter s/l?) for the warrior class.
As for the above suggestions of force sensitives, I kind of feel like to certain degrees all your force classes start out that way (especially the SI) and are still learning to use the powers they have. I'm not sure how fun it would be to play a class that is force sensitive and never progresses to full blown mastery of the force. If you had ideas of how it could be different from the other classes and still fun, I'd love to hear them.
Note: I like the OP, am in no way saying these should be added now or even in the near future, but it's fun to speculate for future expansions
^This. I can't believe BioWare didn't do this from the beginning.
The Sith Warrior/Jedi Knight mirror could be an Cartel/Exchange Enforcer.
The game desperately needs a 3rd faction, and the Cartel/Exchange is a perfect fit.

I just think 10% increase @ 40 and another 10% @50 is just not enough.
Make it 20% each .. so it's worth spending money
Not getting dismounted on the first shot is pretty nice.
-
Doesn't the level 40 speeder take more damage to knock you off, or is it the same as the level 25?
-
. imagine if they had just launched with an underworld/hutt cartel type faction with smugglers, bounty hunters etc... coulda been great
I know it won't happen, but I've thought this exact same thing.

That is soo not true, on Galahad we called Midgard "the rare spawns".
It was mostly Hib vs Alb with a guild or 2 Mid running in to add.
DAOC PvP worked cause it was NOT PvP for gear it was RvR to protect your realm and increase your realm rank which is what made you stronger. Now PvP is about who invests the most time to get the most resil or expertise.
I was on Galahad/Midgard. I was in Volsung Tribe which was predominately an Australian guild.
EDIT: The reason Midgard was "rare spawned" was the Alb/Hib alliance after the Stungard debacle, and a lot of people on Albion using Odin's Eye.

All these "unintentional" imbalances always work in the Empire's favour.
All of them.
I guess BioWare must have forgotten this when they designed the Republic Dropship in Voidstar to allow the Republic players to hop the wall before the match begins?
-
Was it, or was there simply some merit to the complaints?
EQ1 Clerics were nerfed because of the Paladin community.
-
I don't agree with this. I don't disagree that a smite cleric could do this, but you are not correct about the reason they were nerfed. It was exclusively because of their ability to kill someone before a stun wore off. It was this reason why they nerfed the insta-mez which allowed the cleric to get in position to nuke, stun, nuke, nuke, nuke someone down. Their AoE damage was only slightly tuned down. Their single-target damage and their CC was significantly reduced. I was actively involved on the class boards and worked with the Team Leads in these discussions. It was 1 vs 1 related.
I'll have to trust you then seeing that I wasn't playing a Cleric nor was I active on their forums. I do wholeheartedly agree that the game is far too young to start calling for nerfs. Heck, most people haven't even figured out how to play their classes yet, but are still crying. I just hope BioWare doesn't listen to the vocal minority.
-
A single Smite Cleric used to be able to defend keeps against scores of attackers. That's why the nerfed them. =)

It's posts like these that I wish there was an Armory.

Not saying anyone needs nerfing, just saying
Major Armor/HPs -- (Heavy Armor, Tankie)
Major DPS
Major Heals
pick one, no class should have more than one of these.
NOT SAYING, you cant have
Some heals/ some DPS or some DPS/ some Armor, but you shouldnt have a class that is pro in any two of those. IMHO.
RPGs have been doing it for years (and years) with the Cleric class.
I think cloudxshadowbane is just bored at work and trying to get people going. I just can't see how he could have issues killing Merc/Commandos as a melee class. I have absolutely no trouble taking them down.

Mercs kept telling the community that it wasn't TM doing the insane damage, but no one wanted to listen. Pretty pathetic that BioWare wasn't able to see the truth despite them saying "balancing" isn't from community outrage. Whatever...
