  1. You get some great convos with HK , I just wish he was an account unlock. I hope we can get some bit of dialogue with the new companion like we do with hexid. I don't mind getting more companions but I do have quite a bit that are collecting dust. I tend to use ones I like the most. and you can only use about 9 at a time. ( 8 for skills and one who is fighting along with you)
  2. I really think none of the reunions stuck out to me except for maybe Guss Tuno? Most of the reunions were like this:

Player: Hey is that you, companion?

Companion: Oh hey dude. I was wondering where you were.

    Player: Omg same

Companion: You want to hang out again, bro?

    Player: Sure!

Companion: Great! I'll see you later and probably never talk to you again unless I am a major character in the main plot.

Player: Nice to know. See you never!

I call them my dust collectors.

  3. Personally I think BioWare missed the ball with that recent companion mission you get after KOTET if you recruited Arcann. That should have been their saving grace. There was the opportunity to finally rectify the binary choice forced upon us with Arcann.

We should have come to a decision that was something along the lines of...

[Arcann]: "I've caused so much pain. To Zakuul. To the Galaxy. I'm responsible..."

    Player Choices:

    1. "You're atoning here, now, by helping the Alliance."
    2. "Yes. You are responsible. You need to fact justice for what you've done."

And each choice would have branching choices.

Option 1 branches, where the player respects Arcann for supporting the Alliance.

    1. "You're going to have to work long and hard to make up for what you've done."
    2. "It's not your fault, Arcann. It was all Valkorion's doing. You've suffered as much as anyone."
    3. [start Romance].

Option 2 branches, where the player tells Arcann to face justice.

    1. [Exile] "The Galaxy will never forgive you Arcann. It would be best if you just disappeared. From the Alliance, from the Galaxy."
    2. [Exile] "The people of Zakuul suffered more than anyone under your rule. Go to them. Let them decide your fate."
    3. [imprison] "You held the Galaxy hostage. You leveled cities and planets. Killed thousands. If you want to atone, you can atone from a cell."

I like option two choice 3.. Because 2 makes it sound like "well only zakuul suffered" when I think the galaxy got it worse than they did. Which makes me cringe on the first conversation you have with Theron right before iokath. The conversation makes out like we have to only give stuff to them. and that they are the only ones who suffered. Dark side choice is basically not giving them more stuff.

My reaction is "why are we supposed to care more about that planet then the rest of the galaxy"

  4.

But yeah, the choices they give are terrible. There's never a chance to call Senya out or hold her responsible for her actions, and she decides that her own needs supersede everyone else's. And the writers framed the narrative so that sympathy was directed toward Arcann more than his victims.

NOr can you ever call out koth for what he did. Well you can if he still with you on lokath but he retorts "well i was saving it from you" and you stand there like a admonished child. Koth should have been booted even if you never did the dark sided stuff.

Arcann, yeah the only reason I kept him because I didn't like the idea of we have to kill senya in order to kill him. Yes Senya did a bad thing but only because she wanted to save her son, which I think is admirable. At least she didn't put a bomb on a ship that only she has a password for. The lightside choice in that scenario still baffles me. Ok we are keeping koth even though he put a bomb on a ship that he only has the codes for. I am sorry but I am pretty sure that would put him in front of a firing squad in some cases. But a lot of choices in the game baffle me, even several of the chapter content choices.

  5. That is your opinion and you have a right to it. Honestly I think the 13 arc of the sto storyline has more content then stuff after the 3 chapters of swtor. I couldn't tell you much about the stuff after the 3 chapters other then, a lot of flashpoints. Though I do like them, but I would love to be able to skip quite a few of those flashpoints. Well there is KOTET and KOTFE but it has been a while since those have been over.

Rep grinding is for end game armor (which is not a empty shell) and ship sets. (not a empty shell). How is the rep grinding in STO worse than the rep grinding in swtor. Both are tedious and time consuming so I don't really see a difference.

SO i guess you didn't like the Temporal Agent arc, or the Jem'dar arc? And you probably won't like the discovery event they will be doing in a few months.

When has there been new story content, I don't mean ops, or fp's . When was the last time there was an actually story content expansion.

  6. Star Trek Online, but it does have lifetime membership option. They did just get rid of their monthly sub thing.

But they do sell packs in their store. (arc games) ALso the in game store uses zen (aka cartel coins), which you can earn very slowly through grinding and refining dilithium. They just celebrated 8 yrs. They are not as restricted as SWTOR is and unlike swtor bring new content every 4-6 months. (actual content not huttball or fp's that don't really have story content). Though the stuff you buy for zen you can't buy on the exchange (aka the gtn), but the stuff from boxes (uses zen to buy a key in order to open) you can find on the exchange.

Then you have LOTRO where you can earn in game tokens to open up areas and they have been around longer. I am kind of new to this one so i don't know how restrictive the f2p is , so far i haven't felt the pain of being f2p

Both are f2P mostly and as far as I know still very popular and sucessful.

  7. What you don't like your knight :)

Some of those companions (trooper, smuggler, agent, warrior, counselor) are still stuck behind quests unless you have them at level 10. Though I still had to do a few rounds in the ring with bowdaar as my smuggler. The same with Lokin , even at level 10 I still had to do the rakghoul event to bring him back. I still suspect there is stuff I have to do because he is still not 100 percent in the companion legacy thing. That will be the only agent that will do it. He is one of my favorite agent companions but he can stay in that hutt forever.

  8. If you think of it this way , it is a new story with a new set of companions. You get the same amount as you did in the class story. The only difference between the expansion and the class story is that you don't get the standalone conversations.

They are not going to redo the expansion the best thing for them is just to keep going forward with what they have.

I don't think my counselor/smuggler /knight etc loses anything with not having her companions return to her. Nor does she gain or lose anything from not doing the "alliance alerts" Yes it would be nice if each companion had a spotlight in the story. But really the story isn't about them it is about your character being part of a new story.

Though if you did romance them yes you do lose something but nothing major.

I could be jaded or biased since I also play star trek online

where your officers are not really part of the story past the tutorial. Well unless you do the romulan arc and you have an annoying first officer pestering you during the first few arcs. Even funnier is that his sister is someone you are looking for throughout the arcs YOu find her and she disappears and nothing is said about her after that. And no she doesn't become part of the crew and no you can't get rid of the first officer either. (even though you can get rid of any of your other officers)

  9. At least it isn't koth over your bed speaking sweet nothings to valkorion and asking him to come and rule over them again. I still can't get over the fact that he thinks valkorion being in your head is a good thing and that we should exploit it.

Lana I think is one of the few companions who really does care and respect your character. I am not sure if I could say that about a lot of the story companions. (especially after some of the reunions)

  10. I think part of the thing with vaylin was probably there was no discipline/morality being shown to her. I can see valkorion going "eh i don't care" until she proved she was more powerful than him. Senya I am sure tried but she couldn't do anything or wasn't allowed to perhaps. Vaylin also was very powerful according to Senya (even from the womb ).

Lana, I don't hate her. Compared to some of the other companions she is one of the best. Especially on the empire side, I would say she is one of the few that is likeable. I wouldn't call her perfect but she isn't also the only companion who has messed up.

  11. Saving the reactor is stupid from a story point of view. How would your character actually be able to fix it in the first place? How would he know how to use Zakuulan tech? The workers in the reactor, who presumably do know how to fix it, are evacuating, strongly suggesting the place is beyond saving. The fact he blames the PC for it is ridiculous. Why would a big bad Dark VI even be running around trying to fix it anyways? Why would he care if Zakuulan civs die?

Blowing up the Spire had massive military effects. It would force Arcann not only to waste time and resources fixing it, but more heavily protecting that, and other, vulnerable installations. A Dark VI sith wouldn't hesitate to blow the bejezus out of the place.

Yet Ashara wants to be treated as an equal and that's the biggest insult ever, worthy of death. Sounds legit.

I agree about the reactor. My smuggler shot a console on the first planet because it annoyed her. Also medically no one would be able to do anything right away from being frozen in carbonite. Or at least that is how it seemed when Han was rescued. I could see the positive and negative of doing the spire. And you figure it is still early in the story that any of the toons could be still angry and want to exact revenge on arcann/vaylin.

On ashara I saw a video of the reunion and I had the same reaction as I did when my smuggler reunited with Corso and Risha "well that happened". I was very disappointed in the smuggler reunion there.

  12. I've only killed her once, and I regretted it so I never did it again, even though I don't like her very much. I just have her and Aric scrub the decks now.

The same with me, though I gladly kill skage and VIc. I think it is because I feel for her, still don't like her but I just can't kill her.

  13. Isn't there a few operations and fp's (non solo) that are part of the storylines? IT would be nice if that would be soloable. I have had hit and misses when it comes to doing group content. Yet I always get someone who yells spacebars and kicks you if you don't do it. OR someone who basically just rushes through it without going through the mobs. Which never made sense to me because that is xp and loot you are missing out on. (isn't that the purpose of the FP's).
  14. I don't have a problem with Lana she is one of my favorite new companions. But aren't you always forced to take a companion you might not like in all of the chapters and expansions.

Inquisitor is stuck with "i want to eat you" through several planets until they get Andronikas who really isn't any better. Which is probably why all of my inquisitors have either the robot or hexid with her until Ashara or Talos. (I am so glad I made sure i got hexid)

THe one thing I wish during all the stories/expansions was that we could comment back to the rudeness or at least explain reasonings to various companions.

  15. I have to say the unfun story for me is the bounty hunter. (especially taris). Don't get me started on the walking into an obvious trap on quesh.

It is strange but if you play with any of the possible romances, and you flirt with someone else they get testy. Even if you didn't flirt with them. I played the male smuggler and I did not flirt with risha and akaavi and I still got the "pick one of us" scene.

  16. I decided to put some of my non force users in Theron's outfit. (just wish the brown shirt part would dye) Though I do like parts of the arkan (sp) set. I hate the armor in this game. They all either look dirty, scratched up or dinged. My trooper wants to keep it neat and clean.

I am not impressed with a lot of the jedi/sith stuff. Way too many layers and parts and not all of it can dye. Also I am not sure if it would be comfortable all of those layers. I would think a jedi would want something comfy and loose. Not tight and bulky. But I have noticed that some of the best outfits are the KOTOR stuff.
