    - Want to do group pvp? Find a group of players who want the same, form two groups, queue.

Why would current regs act any different now then old solo vs group ranked? We saw a clear trend twords solo being vastly more populated but all of a sudden you think that group pvp will be more populated?

  2. If premades where not a problem then you should've been able to group up for ranked. You where not so the debate about premades being a problem against solo groups or not is moot.

The real question is if there was a solo only queue would the group queue die immediately the same way group ranked did.

  3. Huttball was a gamemode designed in a older era of SWTOR's lifespan. desync alone makes huttball broken, i've lost many a game because of a op rolling down a ledge or down a ramp and just vanishing. Then put on top of that double 40 meter double grapple on PT's, 40s entrench + holotraverse + triple rolling engies, PW + sorc pulls, friendly leaps and massive unCCable directional abilities. I am a fan of huttball myself but to call it not broken and blame everything on "lack of skill" is just shortsighted.

  4. Hey all I was curious what the price of a aug 77 should be relative to the price of RPM/OEMS.

In the example we will be talking about RPM/OEMS are 30m each.

66% of 5 RPM/OEM's seems to be fair (200m in this example). How low could it go though before its no longer profitable in your opinion?

How many premades do you face when you que solo in arenas, atm?

Nearly all of my 4's matches on SS during prime time are against some team during PST prime time.

I guess we can agree to disagree, but I recommend using logical nextime instead of making a nonsensical rant.

Let me be more clear, in past ranked seasons you would have people who where grinding top 3 in matches against people doing their first matches. So the matchmaker they made then failed and doesn't meet your expectations for same skilled solo players vs group ranked players.

Currently the matchmaker throws anything together and calls it a match. So it fails your expectation of pitting groups vs groups and solo's vs solo's.

And you want a game that has failed to care at all for ranked to make a brand new matchmaker that pits granked and solo's in the same queue. Now that is nonsensical.

Honestly, if you loved solo ranked before ranked was removed, then this is your dream come true because a combined arena que would finally be populated enough to have proper matchmaking.

They couldn't do it before in solo/group ranked with elo, they cant do it now with a group/mini-groups/solo que, why do you think they could magically make a granked/solo ranked an elo/group based matchmaker work?

I'll tell you how they wouldn't, they would just get enough people for a group of 8 and throw then together because in swtor's mind any match is a good match and that's just not true. SWTOR will do the least amount possible and in this case the most we could ask for in the sake of a balanced queue is a solo or grouped queue. There will never be a magic elo, group, role based matchmaker to make your dream of granked in the solo ranked queue possible.

Just look up Trials of Osiris in D2 (3v3 competitive vs swtor's 4v4 competitive), solo queue weekends are the biggest draw for new players and veteran players. The solo queue was fine even on SS in s14 and s13 (think I got 500ish games s14 playing casually) during prime time it was around 10 minutes a pop

As for premades, I guarantee 99 out of 100 games will be against other solo players. Because, again, matchmaking would finally work. But in the odd chance that you get against a premade.... imagine having a similarly skilled tank and healer on your team. Half the time you fight premades, the problem isn't their premade. It's your teammates. Well, again, in a populated que the matchmaking system would ideally put premades v premades. But if it couldn't, then it would find competent teammates to help you beat the premade.

We both know the population of swtor does not and will not support what you are saying, if it didn't support the gamemode to your standards back then with 10,000 + standalone then it certainly wont now with 6000 + standalone. The reality is that there wouldn't be enough people in queue and it would just be one skilled premade on a low pop server stomping that's how it was before on low pop servers and that's how it would be again except now it would also be the solo queue.

Leave group and solo que combined, BUT use the current matchmaking algorithm that prioritizes premade v. premade. Every now and then, a premade might vs pugs. But they will gain significantly lower ELO if they win (+2 to +5), than they would gain if they went against another premade (+ 10 to +15). If solo players really hate losing an insignificant game against premades, they can form their own premade.

That would just mean that groups run the "ranked" queue. Since there is no way solo qued players could win against a tank/heal 2 granked meta dps games.

Thats not even mentioning the massive skill gap of a a group of people that would feel confident enough to go toe to toe with people who've been playing ranked since its inception.

I would never have loved pvp as much as I do without a solo ranked queue. I feel like others should have the opportunity to learn in a environment that prevents stomps because it is a solo queue.

  8. With the most recent set of changes, I think the guardian (and juggernaut) is finally getting into a good spot.

One of my only issues is with the Focus discipline, specifically how Combat Focus consumes all your focus if you have max focus to deal a burst of aoe damage. With the amount of focus you can potentially get, it can sometimes lead to situations where you accidentally burn all your focus when you really just want to get your autocrit proc. Love that it increases movement speed baseline at least for focus.

I briefly had a bug earlier where combat focus only had half its normal cooldown and wasn't draining focus at maximum focus - but after about 10 minutes it disappeared and I have been unable to reproduce it.

The shield from zealous defence is still not worth taking at all. 6k shield on a 276k hp character is insignificant.

So yeah, good work on the Guardian! Now for all the other combat styles :D

I take it you haven't pvp'd with guardian.

  9. You dont have a ELO in regs. If you go 100 wins and 0 losses in regs it doesnt matter. If you do the same thing in ranked its a big deal. No one cares about W/L ratio in regs. Ranked is supposed to be competitive, regs isn't.
  10. ban? no.

but you still won't be able to spectate b/c you'll be removed from the arena unless you /stuck outside of spawn. :D

I've been watching my idol Moophy and it works for him! You can /stuck pregame and no kick :D. I don't know when Bioware added this spectator feature but I am so happy they did! I hope more people use this feature!

  11. I would definitely support an increase in repair costs. Not only is it’s good credit sink, but it also encourages smart play and teaches players to improve their skills. I would go as far as even adding it to pvp in some format.

Getting farmed in regs by players that have played for years? Get better 4head (it would be optimal to just /stuck it if you are going to lose to dodge the repair. Moophy knew all along)

    I like it. Positive change.

The fact that most items cant even be sold on the GTN anymore if you dont want to rip yourself off is hilarious. Items going for character credit cap is clearly a sign of a healthy game economy. Bioware cant fix the credit problem? Welp cough up that 50$ in cc for that platinum saber.

This is not a problem for veterans who have played for years. This is a MASSIVE wall to new players when they look at the player market and see items going for 100s of millions and everyone is telling you thats cheap. Sadly this credit inflation problem doesnt hurt Bioware since it just forces more people into the CM and away from the GTN. I dont see this problem ever going away. It is just going to get worse and worse as the months go on.

  12. I don't think any ONE person should be allowed to decide, I mean many will give items to those who ask, or say they need; yet some won't and isn't very fair.

I have no issues with the new system.

I have no issue with master loot being gone. The removal of need/greed/pass needs to be changed back. You don't even know what dropped or who got it.
