All companions have the same stats so pick any of them and they will work the same.
I'd set my companion to DPS as a sorc as you have good survivability with your own heals and you can kill things quicker with a DPS companion.

I prefer the Juggernaut because of their DCDs lean more towards hangingin the fight longer whereas Mara DCDs lean more towards escape. This is all just personal preference though.

People say fury is the pvp spec atm. Other than that i wont be of much help, sorry.

Either Juggernaut or Scoundrel. Couldn't pick one or the other. I like melee and feel comfortable with the DCD's of the Jugg and the self-survivability and punching of the scoundrel.

I cant kill nobody in pvp with my sniper engineer, I am loosing 100% hp to every class in 1vs1 duel before I can drop them even to 50%, I am dropping all the things: probes, orbital, stuns, cover pulse, escape etc, I even took that perk to knock after series of shots, it still not enough damage to kill smbd ranged or melee in pvp.
Dear devs, did you break something? And when are you doing to fix it? Whatever, try to play it yourself really, engineer is dead, he can really only run away every time he is focused by anybody, and only heal can save you, nobody even afraid of engineers damage, its just 20-30% with all the probes and damage abilities in single procast, did you try it yourself? And who you listen to, you make such changes? Engineer is squishy target with no dps, TEST IT YOURSELF IN REGULAR PVP PLS. Especially try it in 4vs4 matches, its just lul / gg. I am the only one engineer I saw in smth like 60 pvp matches. Maybe you did smth wrong?
And when are going to nerf stealth user's ability to stun single targets for 60 seconds twice in pvp after they escaped? Should we have a personal sorc for every assasin in pvp to defend an objective? And what I am supposed to do with my engineer if that happens while I am alone? Why so many assasins in pvp?
So if my engineer stunned he is probably already dead, without defense, or just stupidly ignored cause cant do anything, no self heals, nothing to activate while stunned, no dmg, the whole engineer sniper is NOTHING. Is that what was you "target dps" smth like "uhhh buddy, drop probe, run away, you cant do anything even 30% dmg"?
It seems like you making ppl play classes/specs they dont want to really, or they wont have appropriate results in pvp

No prob! Glad your son got it working.
I've had issues with the game recently, not sure what it is but have never had issues until the past couple days. In fact, right now I have the game loaded but it won't go to character select, it is stuck on the initial loading screen -_-.

Solo PvE is a joke as any class/spec. Just put your companion on heals and win. DPS is probably your best bet if you want to kill things quicker. PvP on jugg, most would suggest immortal spec with dps gear. In regs, the DPS specs are ok, but ranked you will be focused first so you need all the survivability you can get.

What seems to happen when you launch the game? Does it open and give you an error or does nothing happen at all? Does the launcher load at least?

Rage is a Sith Warrior discipline. Did you mean Hatred or Deception? Depends what you want want out of the profession. I'm no expert on money making so I'll leave that to someone else, but generally the consensus if this is your first character is to go with 2-3 gathering crew skills.
If you want to make your own armor, synthweaving (if you want to look like a force user) or armormech (to look like non-force user), artifice to make lightsabers and color crystals. Biochem if you want to make stims and adrenals and medpacks and such. Or cyber Tech for implants ear pieces, etc etc.
Multiple crew skills make augments, different types depending on the crew skill.
From what I've read, artifice and cyber Tech are the most profitable.

A tank in dps gear is still a tank.

It's wiser in general to go for the easiest kill, which happen to be dps jugg and pt ATM. If they are going for a tank jugg first though, they are doing it wrong.

You could always create a toon on the server first then transfer your main to the server and voila the name is now already taken.

Harbinger as its West coast and Shadowlands is East imo. Also, if you play late at night and want to have Q pops.

I see all these posts on Snipers and nothing constructive on Gunslinger that can help me.
I have played The Operative class to 70 and wanted to play the Gunslinger now as that is the same but not healer version on the Light side.
That said I do not see much at all on the gunslinger set ups. Do I just that the sniper builds and go from there? is there anything specific to a Gunslinger that makes them slightly different?
That and I honestly do not know the mirror skill names to just swap them from the sniper to a Gunslinger.
Any help for 5,0 builds?
The only difference between the MIRROR classes are one uses a sniper and the other uses 2 pistols.

Welcome to the world of MMO's. Classes change and get nerfed/buffed. It's a cycle. It would help if you specified what AC of BH you are. You just gotta adjust when the class you play drastically changes.
