  1. Thanks. Didn't know that. I removed the person's name.

Edited to add that they gave me another 150 CC to cover the next two months which will be short 75 CC. With the remaining months of 525, I will have the correct amount. I asked for 375 CC to cover everything, and that's what they did, so I am happy with the results. :)

I also had a bug the other day where transferring a character to PTS resulted in eating up my free character server transfer, and I was honestly surprised by how helpful, friendly and professional the CS person was. I won't put their name, but I wish I could as a type of props for a job well done. The problem took a few steps to resolve, and the person followed up with two separate emails to make sure everything was correct.

Good job, person I can't name on the forums!

  2. I pointed out what I felt was unusual or obscure in my post. Your run was a far cry from an average heroic player. I can tell you for certain I don't play that way when I run heroics, nor do I know anybody that does. If that's how you play, great, but that doesn't make it how "normal" players do heroics. It looked to me like somebody trying to do them as fast as humanly possible. When you're trying to present that as "This is what a normal heroic player can earn through Conquest", yeah, that's incredibly misleading. That was not an average run..

    You're kidding, right?

The run in the video was actually slower than most of mine, and that of any player with stealth characters. I'm happy he didn't choose a stealth character, which would have skewed the results. This is far more realistic to live.

That said, I'm VERY disappointed they limited heroics to 10-50. It's like, what?!

I guess it's their way of saying, "hey, we heard you and put the points back at normal," but I think it would've been better to just nerf the points instead of limiting them this way, since they've basically now set Heroic points to 0 for most of the population.

  3. It is precisely statements like this over the past several months that has lead Ea to nerf things. They don't leave crap alone and then buff the rest. They grab Mr. Nerf Stick and go for it.

That should be obvious at this point.

Do you have a problem with the reasoning? You believe that increased rewards should be given to things that take less time rather than more?

    SMH.

  4. Ah, I'm sorry. I did not know that these commands are fully written in English instead of the shortage. I tried every variation there is, from /e, /me to /emote, but the command just stays in the chat box and I can't push enter to write my own emote like "Character Name takes the weapon of his belt." etc.

I also can't manually click on "Emote", on the chat bubble since this isn't listed. Just say, yell, trade and so on. :/

In English, the correct command is /me. Not sure in German.

For example, "/me ponders if the Eyeless has eyebrows or not" would be "Sharkfishman ponders if the Eyeless has eyebrows or not."

Edit: In other words, don't just write /me and then press enter. You have to write /me and whatever you want to say before pressing enter.

  5. And this is the opinion most of us had from the very start. Buffs, not nerfs, CQ was improved massively, we want it to continue, but it won't if they nerf it. Buff what needs to be buffed, but don't ruin other content that they've actually finally got right.

    I agree with this completely.

Buff GSF match completion so it is worth the huge time investment. Buff PVP matches. Buff OPs. Leave solo content where it's at right now. It still takes time and effort to hit CQ.

Also, I would add one HUGE caveat: Buff different types of FPs and OPs individually. Set a baseline for HS, then work upward from there. There's no way that a full Nathema MM and Lost Island MM runtime should reward the same conquest (or tech frags, drops, etc.) as HS's 15-minute runtime. Same with Vet VotMG or Dxun vs. EV. That's one of the biggest problems with current content/time spent.

Finally, one more thing I would mention that may be causing problems is that devs should stop balancing what is "appropriate" CQ points using the 150% bonus as baseline. It's supposed to be a BONUS after you've invested tens of millions of credits in unlocking. CQ points should be balanced around 0 SH or 2-3 max.

  6. I can bet there are more solo players than GSF players :D

What does this have to do with anything? There are more GSF players than NiM raiders, lol. There are more unranked players vs ranked players. More PVE than PVP, etc. Are you saying population should determine the value of conquest point rewards?

  7. I have played this game on and off since early release. I usually defend Devs, in that I believe they have a difficult job. But here I don't get it. Who asked for this change, what large segment of the player base was clamoring for these changes?

The players (yes fifthly casuals) I know, all enjoyed Conquest the way way it exists now. Not one of them has any intention of playing PvP or Raiding. As the quote noted above if you are feeling slighted, then buff conquest in those areas. But DON"T try and force me to play parts of the game I despise. To be clear if you enjoy PvP or Raiding, then more power to you, beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder, so no disrespect is intended.

Yo Bioware, IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT>

The devs have a history of adjusting CQ gains (read "nerfing") to bring them "in line with targets." I'm guessing they're seeing that right now it's more lucrative to run solo than grouped, and I'm guessing as devs of an MMO, they want to probably encourage grouping as an equally lucrative or desirable option. Otherwise, why sub? Why run Ops or play Ranked if it's a waste of time monetarily and CQ-point related ways? Not saying other stuff needs to be nerfed, mind you, just that devs have a history of doing just that with conquest, companion levels, you name it.

  8. So painfully true. His entire months-long campaign didn't spur the kind of changes to the degree that he wanted, but he sure damn well succeeded in ruining the enjoyment of conquest for everyone else not adhering to his precious play style.

Whew, I finally am subbed and can respond to these posts, lol.

As someone who loves GSF, I have to say that attacking someone in this thread and others instead of actually address his feedback doesn't lend much credence to your viewpoint. Are you suggesting that people who play GSF instead of spam Hammer Station or run heroics or spam a bunch of adds at the beginning of an operation should have to choose less conquest points because of it?

All I see is someone asking for all activities in the game to be equally rewarding for the time investment, which I believe is the point of these conquest changes, correct? As in, if I run MM Lost Island, it should give me more conquest than running MM HS because it takes like 10 times as long.

Are you against this type of balance?

As to your second point, that 1 person's "month's long campaign" can somehow cause these devs to make deep changes to the game is ludicris. The devs will do what they want after looking at the metrics, evaluating the playing habits of the player base as a whole and deciding how they want the player base to react.

I'm fairly certain GSF won't get much love in the CQ points department, not because it isn't fun, but because it's free. This latest round of changes seems more geared towards motivating subscribers to stay subbed during a major content drought (yet again) by prioritizing activities that only subs can do.

  9. So my first question is I have subscribed and can't seem to level past 70 and get to 75 is this a bug? Also haven't received the companion for subscribing either though it should be noted I bought the flat fee and not repeating subscription.

Question two is how to I get the Notorious Armor for my Bounty hunter (armor is a 75 set bounus armor, is grey, looks mandalorian almost) I hear from operations if so what encounters thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions and may the force be with you always :]

That is strange because even if you're not at the latest story yet you should keep leveling past 70 as a subscriber.

Are you sure your subscription went through? Otherwise you may want to submit a ticket.

  10. Small guilds will never really compete in conquest with large guilds anymore. That's just a fact. The large guilds simply have more people doing conquest throughout the day/night that small guilds will never really be able to win a planet.

With that being said Yes I do think that they need to fix KP farm. I've seen so many groups forming for KP Farm on SS, and only very rarely have I seen any GF Operations formed recently on SS.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe the other people who feel this change isn't very important aren't on SS or don't enjoy running other content.

I'm on SS, and the difference from a few weeks ago to now is night and day. I am 1 day away from canceling my subscription (again, sigh, though it's hard to follow through when you cancel and then 6 people click on your referral link, lol) because, what is there to do now?

    PVP is broken for me.

OPs don't form in any chat anymore, despite attempting for hours.

MM FPs don't pop anymore, and trying to form a group is useless unless you're stealth and/or agree to spam HS MM.

My nights are spent playing GSF and running planetary missions in between pops. Wait, I can do that without subscribing!

  11. I mean to me an exploit is something like the companion gift conundrum from a while back. Kp farming might not be intended but it's hardly an exploit. My small guild can't win planets with it, but we wouldnt be able to without it either.

Yeah, I agree with you. It's not intended, but it doesn't mean players are breaking any rules by participating.

This is simply the case of the devs implementing something without thinking about the long-term ramifications. There's no reason to punish players over that (which is probably why they never hinted at anything of the sort - "Make sure to stop running KP farm immediately!").

An exploit is when there's something the devs are UNAWARE of going on causing allowing players to do something they shouldn't be able to. Phasing through walls, replicating credits from scratch, duping, etc. are exploits. This is simply poor planning/faulty game design. Just like the trading-in gear to get the perfect amps. I feel like it's one of those things where the devs are like, "nah, they'd never do that," for the 1,000th showing that they have little inkling of human nature, lol.

  12. So why not add more activities that give more points then instead of nerfing the one way people seem to enjoy it? Maybe players feel that all the other activities aren’t worth the time so they do the one that is worth the time.

As someone mentioned, people will search out and find the next easiest fun way to get conquest all BW does is play whack-a-mole when they “fix” things. They plug one hole, only for people to find another one to pop their heads out.

I just think many game design features are downright bad, and so when people are only using one source of conquest points, or mostly only one then that tells me the system is faulty. The system is not providing players with enough FUN and effective ways to get conquest points when they all start using only one activity for conquest, if that’s what is really going on.

That would be totally fine with me. It's the same thing we've been asking for ages with Hammer Station (not to nerf Hammer Station MM but to make harder content more rewarding to run).

Also, there's no way you can possibly believe that KPF is "entertaining" or "fun," so let's not pretend that's what's going on here.

  13. I capped a toon in one sitting running snv as a large conquest objective, combined with the fact it was gf and has lots of adds. Nerf! (/sarcasm for the challenged)

How long did it take you to run SnV?

You think that it should be FAR easier to run around killing a bunch of adds instead of completing an operation?

What is the purpose of even having content then?

Let's not pretend the amount of RXP and conquest points you get from completing operations is comparable to what those adds are giving. If it was even remotely close, KPF (Karraga's Palace Farm) wouldn't have taken over endgame raiding completely.

Your anecdotal experiences, while entertaining, don't provide many details. They seem more like an intent to protect what is obviously a skewed source of CXP and RXP, rather than have constructive discussion. Are you implying that people were crying nerf when running operations was the best way to get conquest points?

  14. Again though, the question is, are you worried about winning the planet or just getting the guild rewards? Renown rewards are pretty pointless as it is a single piece of non-set gear, and SOMETIMES a mod/Enhancement.....which will most likely be decon'd for 5-10 Tech frags each.

If you are worried about winning the planet, then you have a point. If you are worried about the guild rewards, then there is no difference in once person getting 50K and getting 1Million, it is the same amount of rewards.

When guilds farm it, and are cranking out 8-10 toons in 30 minutes then alting to crank out another 8-10 and do this for 80-10 toons, the mats on the market are going to increase and the cost go down. I know there are a lot of people complaining about this ONLY because others are getting more mats and driving prices down. There is some argument to be made there.

Personally... I am stocking up on the low priced items now because they are going to go up when BW kills this.

This is another side effect, but it's not a huge, huge deal because prices were already dropping significantly on those conquest-related crafting mats. After all, there are very few reasons at the moment to craft anything using them, aside from augments if you're a masochist.

You mentioned the first reason it bugs me, which is conquest leaderboards. This gives guilds with a large amount of alts even more leverage than before for conquering small and medium planets (on Satele Shan, everyone knows which guild is going to conquer the large scale, so that's moot).

The second reason is the effect it's had on queues/groups forming for any kind of operation or MM flashpoint or anything that's not KP farm. Things are dead compared to a few weeks ago, though at least my precious GSF still pops regularly.

Also, side point, I'm going to finally reach my Legendary reputation with the the space missions!!! Tonight the achievement is going to pop!

  15. What does it mean when someone comes up to me in-game and jumps up and down? Is it just saying Hi; want me to follow them and help them with a battle? Do I jump and down to say Hi back? If I respond and jump back, does it mean we're married?

    It depends on the situation.

Usually, if you're in a flashpoint or an operation, it means "stand here."

    Sometimes it means "come here."

    Sometimes it means "follow me."

And other times (if you're on the fleet), it just means "hello."

It especially means "hello" when it's someone in your guild or someone you just ran a flashpoint with.

As far as I've seen, it's almost always something positive, never negative. You can jump up and down to say hello too, if you want, or just pretend you're away from keyboard, lol. That works too.

  16. I logged onto a character I haven't played on in along time. None of his companions have pants. Vector and Temple have chest pieces but everyone else is in their underwear. i filed a costumer service complaint and they came on but I was in the middle of a flashpoint by then and couldn't really chat. Now I'm out they're no responding to followup. I tried loggng out for 20 minutes tin case they need me do that, but nothings changed.

Several players tried to tell there is a button to reclaim armor but there is no such button on this character. I have a lot of old characters that are probably going to have this issue.

This happened to me too, just the other day. I went to level an older companion through Chapter II of KotFE and noticed during the dream cutscene (as Valkorian is pointing out each of the companions) that they're ALL in their UNDERWEAR! I guess that character has very vivid and very specific dreams about all his crew mates. Hmm. Maybe it's normal.

  17. I’m a new sub too so you guys are saying to max your conquest bonus you need just one stronghold but with all the rooms unlocked? Decorations don’t matter?

The cheapest strongholds to fully unlock are the Coruscant, Dromund Kaas and Umbara Strongholds. Next comes Nar Shadaa. I would start with those so you don't break your bank. Those 4 fully unlocked will give you a 100% bonus, which is pretty decent.

After that, credit costs go up quite a bit, so you need to save up some moolah.

  18. Wow. Ewoks can be the new Jawas. We can try to think of Ewok pun guild names...

    <Ewok on The Beach>

You are so right. It's amazing. Just a quick look at past hits provides so many possibilities:

"Ewok on the Wild Side" - Comedy

"Ewok King Dead" - Horror, Drama

"Ewok Among the Tombstones" - Crime, Action

    "Ewok to Remember" - Romance

    Some nice music tunes too:

"Ewok This Way" - Stephen Tyler giving directions to stormtroopers.

"Ewok All Over You" - Even better when you play the song and imagine Treek blowing up an Imperial base.

  19. From your perspective they aren’t trying but if you recall, especially when you were new you too probably have been blown up making a mistake didn’t use DCDs on time etc. resulting in a fast death. You got to be reasonable and cultivate newer players and encourage them not dissuade them from participating. You just killing off any chance of a new player wanting to learn and be a part of ranked if you are toxic to them. I have even seen experienced vets die instantly from not using DCDs properly. People make errors you can’t be perfect, lol.

This is especially true because of the small community that queues in ranked. They are quick to notice "new" players or less-than-top-5% players and consistently target them when on the opposite team. No matter who you are or what class you play, it's virtually impossible to avoid dying to a 3v1 or 4v1 unless you're hanging back and doing nothing.

This creates a poor environment to actually improve at ranked. If they had a separate 4v4-only queue "PreRanked" where players could practice in a less "elite" environment, it might help. Unfortunately, I doubt it will happen for 2 reasons:

    1. The devs never stated that ranked should only be for the crem de la crem. This is a player invention. They want to feel like ranked is somehow the NiM of PVP, but it's not designed that way. Unfortuntely, through vote kicked and tricks, players have the power to bully conditions into being this way.

    2. "Elite" players would likely queue in Discord for PreRanked to practice their wintrading techniques and troll less experienced players. For all their "I only want to play the best!" many of these players are more than happy to gank newer players so they can feel powerful. Not all, mind you, but enough to create a definite "personality" to the ranked environment.
