  1. Got MM Lost Island on my DPS Assassin on Star Forge.

It was Sorc healer, Merc DPS, and Assassin tank. First two bosses(the big critter in front of the lab and the droid) went OK, the latter cutting somewhat close to enrage, but we made it, and the other critter mini boss went down smoothly.

We get to Sav-Rak, and the Merc dies on the first smash. Healer rezzes him, but he dies again. We actually managed to get the boss down to ~30%, but eventually the healer got strained for resources. The tank then spells out the tactics: to stand under his 🍑 during the smash channel and to get on the panels ASAP so the healer can heal and cleanse. Merc goes okay, and he survives the first smash, but dies on the second one. I tell him to either stand under the 🍑 or use Hydraulic Overrides(I have seen videos where BHs/Troopers can BS through the mechanic with it). Dude says OK...and when the boss is on the pipe, he's busy healing himself. So the healer is forced to click the panel, while the tank and I are yelling at the Merc to listen to us. We wipe yet again, and the healer initiates a vote kick which goes through. Merc laughs and I block him. We get a Sorc replacement and one shot Sav-Rak and Lorrick, making it my easiest kill of the latter ever.

Last night, I tried grinding a bit on my dual specced Sage, also on Star Forge. I got a pop for MM Ilum; not a fan of that one, but the healer is a Scoundrel and it's good for conquest. Healer asks to do bonus, to which I agree. Tank is, uh, something else: charges into combat without letting the rest of us(healer was Rank 300 with a 248+ rating, my gear as TK was 232 and the other DPS Sage was level 57) heal up or even catch up. Combine that with tunnel vision, and if the healer isn't getting eaten alive, it's me or the other Sage. How bad of a tank do you have to be if a level 57 player is getting aggro? We wiped twice on the Ongree and the Kaleesh, to which I decided I was too tired to deal with this, blocked the tank and bowed out.

  2. Wow, I've read of Elitist aholes who say they'll do that and boast about it in these forums. Names won't be mentioned of course. But to think of that actually happening, most raids, especially SnV can be done with a group of 230... you did good on adding them to ignore.

See, here's the thing: if you're that picky about PUGs, you need to join a raiding guild, or you need to specify what you want when you're LFG. The other thing is it's one thing if you are doing VOTMG or maybe the Ossus bosses. Those aren't cakewalks.

"LF 1 Tank KP SM GF. Must have 248 set bonus with augments and link Brontes NIM cheeve."

Joke's on them, I still got my lockout done! 😀

  3. Logged into my DPS Sorc on Darth Malgus in hopes of getting a last boss run of SnV before work. Her item rating is 238. Saw a call for it, get invited, then all of a sudden I'm kicked. I figure the game bugged, so I ask to be invited back. Nope, I was intentionally kicked because my item rating was "too low, and we want a fast kill".

A GF raid. It's story mode. I have run with people as low as level 50, and without their full set bonus if they are level 70. I've run with people with old set bonuses(ie, the 3.x or 4.x sets).

I told them to not PUG if they're that picky and set them on ignore.

  4. Had a KP where the DPS was god awful slow, and my co tank was rather incompetent. One of the DPS was a Shadow who not only ninja looted, but at times did nothing at all during the fights. Karagga enraged, and I left to do my own lockout run.

Leveling my Sent on DM, got Red Reaper. The Commando who took on tanking duties(we had no DWT) was a bit of a butt, calling me the R word because apparently I didn't do a LOS properly. Then we got to the bridge with the 3 Sith with a knockback. Now the other two players were a low level Sage and Commando. Both have knockbacks; Sents do not. Well, only Smarty Pants knew to knockback the Sith. The other two didn't. So I made a snotty comment directed at the other two, and Smarty Pants threw a fit, thinking I was snapping at him. I said it was directed at the other two and got no reply.

  5. I think it's funny that you can sleepwalk through the class stories these days, yet both VOTMG and several FE/ET chapters actually require you using your brain.

-All of Vaylin's fights require tactics

-So does the final boss of Eternal Throne

-The Dragon's Maw requires paying attention

-Tyth is easy, but the twin sisters require paying attention

I've only done the first two bosses, but I've watched videos for Nahut, Scyva and Izax, and I can easily see why raiders want TS at best, or someone who's already done it. I'd love to complete the operation, but it's usually up either on a day I'm working or the daily CXP bonus is planetary missions or flashpoints.

  6. my guess is that he was angry because you were using kolto stations

Maybe it's just me, but people are so sensitive these days. They drop to 75% health and they hit the kolto. It's one thing if I'm on a low level healer, or I'm trying to bring someone up from low health or running low on resources. But geez, give me a chance!

Anyways, queued my Sentinel(53) on Darth Malgus and got Czerka Corporate Labs with a Seer Sage(69), Vigilance Guardian(70 and in tier 3 gear but with only part set bonus) and fellow Sentinel(43). Should be easy, right? First boss takes forever, because only the other Sentinel and I are using a rotation. Guardian is basically doing Plasma Brand and Blade Storm on cool down, if that much. Everything else is is Saber Strike. He kept running ahead of us and actually pulled the second boss with only me in the room with him. The Sage and the other Sentinel were locked out of the room. I /stuck, hoping he'd get the hint. Nope. He kept fighting with an awful rotation. The boss actually enraged. The group ended up disbanding. I whispered the healer that while I thought they did great, I wasn't going to deal with an idiot like that.

  7. Got a pop for HM Kaon with my Sniper. Zone in, tank runs ahead of everyone. Inspect him, he's wearing gear with no mods. One dps left for some reason(possibly that reason), and the healer and I asked why the **** he wasn't wearing any modded gear. Got ignored, wiped on a mob(I should note he was barely using a rotation). I added him to my ignore list and left.

My Marauder got a pop for HM Athiss. Inspect the tank, he's mostly blue 230s and no set bonus. I'm in mostly tier 2 and 3 gear, so I'm pulling off him. Hell, the level 66 Assassin is pulling off him. I pretty much tanked the first boss, and I noticed he's not using Crushing Blow or Backhand. Needless to say, the second boss is a struggle. I play Immortal and Defense a lot, so I offer him some advice. Tank is listening, but after he goes AFK for a bit, the healer and I agree we're not going to hold his hand through this and leave.

I decided to dual spec my Sage and got her healing gear. She's my first Seer Sage, but I love playing Corruption Sorcerer, so I practiced with my abilities a bit to get the hang of it(everything is green instead of purple and green ;) ). Queued, got HM Cademimu. Zone in, say hi. We're all waiting, and waiting, and waiting on the tank to pull.

    Me: Are you ready?

Tank: you sure you can heal this? :/

(This is Cademimu. Not Blood Hunt, not Manaan, and of course she's not even qualified to get the three new ones as a pop.)

Me: ....I have my full purple 230s.

A DPS: This is one of the easier ones. We'll be fine.

    And shockingly, we were! :p

  8. I'm trying to relearn Medicine and Sawbones, and I took my Operative on Star Forge into the queue. Got Czerka Core Meltdown, with a 70 Marauder, 70 Juggernaut and low level Juggernaut. Everyone says hi, and the Marauder runs ahead of everyone else. I'm at level 35 at the start, so I don't have Exfiltrate yet. The other guys and I run to catch up. We kill some unnecessary mobs, and the consoles haven't been clicked. I'm waiting for someone to say "by the way, I'm new to this one". I take the consoles into my own hands and we head to the jungle boss first. Marauder pulls, and the low level Jugg taunts off them, keeping the boss in the middle of the arena. The higher level Juggernaut is unable to help because they pulled before he entered the arena. Meanwhile, I'm trying my best to heal, but I'm getting stunned. One of the times I'm stunned, I ask, "are you new?". No reply, despite all of us being stunned at intervals. I run to a kolto station, and I die from AOE. I look at the time, and I realize I should head to bed because I have to work the next day. Soon as I long onto the fleet, the low level Jugg whispers me.

Jugg: why the **** did you leave, ****head?!

Me:...because you were clearly new and ignore my question.

Jugg: not everyone has done everything in this game! You should be more patient with new people.

I should note he and the higher level Jugg were guildmates. I hope not all guild members act like that.

  9. I hope I didn't post this already. :p

A few months ago, I queued for hard modes on my Sniper on SS. I got Blood Hunt. Now, she's relatively well geared(I believe a fair chunk of 236s), but I've heard so many horror stories that I was very nervous. The rest of the group told me not to fret so quickly. I believe we did the first boss in two shots, and the couple and Shae were one shot. It was fantastic, and we even did the bonus!

  10. Now you're talking :rak_03:!

We did discuss extending the event but unfortunately it is not possible in this instance. Tomorrow we have a back-end fix alongside a server restart to address the issue, extending the event would require a patch.

    -eric

Eric, do yourself and your coworkers a favor: extend the event. For people like me who have a ton of alts, double XP/CXP events are a gold mine. You're costing us time, which risks costing you money in subs.

  11. My Guardian tank on Star Forge got into a group for Raptus and Dread Council via group finder. First, I was told that it was just the Dread Council, but it turns out that it was two bosses. No big deal, it was my day off. Now everyone knows that the mobs in the Palace can hit like trucks, so I wanted to do a ready check, but hadn't been promoted to lieutenant. Just as I type "r?" in chat, a Sentinel pulls the first mob.

Me, after the fight: Can you please let tanks pull first?

Sentinel: What's taking you so long? :/

Then we get to Raptus, and it's pretty smooth. But I notice a Shadow in the group who was supposedly DPS had Kinetic Ward up... And we had a DPS Guardian queueing as a tank. So afterwards, I pointed it out. The Shadow said he queued as DPS because it was his first time running it.

  12. Got MM Red Reaper on my Shadow on Star Forge. She's a tank. Zone in, turns out the other Shadow in the group is also a tank, but queued as dps...and also pulled that mob that's right outside the shuttle. We didn't even get to the first boss before wiping. The healer and I both left.

Last night, same character got MM Red Reaper. Decent group...except no one communicated. I'd type something in chat and get nothing in response.

  13. DPS will always have to wait longer.

I don't think that there always needs to be a gear restriction for all hard mode flashpoints. You can probably BS through Hammer Station and Athiss in 208s. Blood Hunt? I've cleared it once before in mostly 236s, but the first boss is tough. Afterwards was a breeze.

Basically, everything depends on competency, which is hit or miss. I would like to see an update where activity finder tells you what flashpoint you're getting. It'd be better than getting one you hate and then forcing a lockout.

  14. Last night, my Marauder on Satele Shan got Czerka Core Meltdown: her in a mix of 234 and 236 gear, a level 50 merc, a level 70 Sin tank, and a level 70 Sniper. We got through trash pulls and went to the desert biome boss first. Sin doesn't use Wither at all, and the level 50 merc, who isn't geared that well at all, keeps pulling off him. Merc and I keep telling him to pull the beast to the generators and get ignored. After two wipes, I left.

And isn't it the responsibility of those who aren't tanking the boss to hit koltos? My Shadow on Star Forge tanked tactical Manaan, and not one of the dps bothered to hit the koltos. They left it up to me. I died on all three bosses because of that. No off healing from the Commando or the Sage, and on top of that, the Guardian(who I think was Vigilance; I didn't hear the little war cry from one of the main passives, but one of the few actual attacks he used looked like Overhead Slash) kept taunting off me for no reason whatsoever.

Speaking of DPS taunting off the tank, that's the second time it happened to me in the past week. Earlier I got a DPS Shadow who would pull before me, and then taunt off me when I did have aggro. His guild mate, a Commando healer, said that GF accidentally queued him as tank. Granted I was on a lowbie, but still.
