  1. you mean Shadow of revan ? every class has it's own unique special quest in that expansion . It's when you get to Kotfe then Kotet that it's..very....force user oriented yes .

Oh, I did not know that Shadow of Revan had separate class stories. That is nice to hear.

And thanks for answering regarding KotFE and KotET - I guess it's what I feared. Quite unfortunate, really. The original Imperial Agent story was my absolute favourite exactly because it showed the Star Wars universe from a rarely explored perspective - with very little mention of Jedi/Sith or the force in general. Though I suppose that it sensible for Bioware to focus on what is the main draw of the IP.

  2. Hello everyone,

I played quite actively during launch and into ROTH (Makeb) and completed all class stories, but not beyond that. I would like to play all the story expansions now and was wondering if I'd lose anything by playing the new chapters as an Agent. The story somehow seems very focused on force users and it I fear that a sniper would feel out of place there.

Without spoiling the events post-Makeb, does the story feel sensible for everyone, not just Sith/Jedi?

Thank you very much in advance!

  3. After finishing the Revan story, there is only Ziost, which is the transition from the end of SoR to the start of KotFE.

KotFE tells one continuous story troughout the chapters, there is no way to play them out of sequence, and don't be awed by the sheer number of chapters, imagine RotHC being released piece by piece, one Makeb-mesa per month.

And yes, as a subscriber you get all subscriber rewards, regardless of whether you actually play or not :p

Thank you very much for the answer!

  4. Hello everyone,

I played SWTOR a lot for a few years (have the "Legendary" status, i.e. - all class stories completed) and stopped playing shortly after the Revan expansion. Now I'm feeling overwhelmed by all the new story content - I definitely want to experience it in the right (or optimal) order. Previous experience with how BioWare handled story DLC in Mass Effect makes me wary of playing them in the wrong chronological order and spoiling the story for myself.

Is it possible to accidentally play the chapters in the wrong order? Is there a guide that'd help me guide through the process? Or can I just play along without the risk of getting the order wrong/not optimal?

Thank you very much in advance and have a pleasant weekend!

PS - I never unsubscribed from the game so I assume I have access to all the content. Is that correct?

  5. Hello everyone!

I'm almost finished with all of the class stories and was wondering about the general state of the galaxy after all the class stories (with some negating the effects of others) end and the events on Makeb are added. I remember seeing an interview with what I think was a BioWare writer summing up the situation and chronology of all the events as well as discussing how the events in each story impact each other.

However, I'm having difficulty finding this interview not that I know the stories and could read it without spoilers. Does anyone happen to know which interview I'm talking about? Or is there another good source where the sate of the galaxy is summarized?

Thanks in advance and have a good week!

    Best regards,

  6. Dammit I don't want to see my Green/Black color crystals on the CC. I like getting my oohs and ahhs from ppl asking where I got em.

Indeed. Same with driving a Korrealis Commander, which is probably the single most expensive item in the game credits can buy. IF there are any available at all on the server.

Would be a shame to see them made available to anyone willing to spend real money. Instead, Bioware should include new limited time items, to give the people who started playing later also a chance to distinguish themselves later on.

  7. When I returned and logged to finally checkout Makeb and 2.1 features ALL my stuff up on GTN was GONE, wiped, erased, extinct. This included a Korrealis, Life day bundle, evented rare stuff, over 15k CC worth of CM stuffs, very rare world drops. Net loss of all this stuff is worth around 150kk credits in current Red Eclipse GTN prices.

Clearly, all Support had to say is 'yeah, right, we wipe all your mails after 30 days. SORRY. We can't restore your Korrealis coz we don't have logs to prove you ever had it. Hope you enjoy SWTOR'.

This is truly awful. Painful to read. I love this game to death but if something like that happened to me an I was waved off by support like that, I'd quit as well.

I do hope someone from Bioware reads this and it gets settled, though. Otherwise, it's really inexcusably bad service. No matter what the companies policies are - that's inexcusable.

  8. I have seen this only once, and have been playing the game on and off for a good few years now.

It was on the Alderaan screen on the Galactic map. Normally you can see another planet or distant moon, silhouetted against the sun. On this one occasion there was a second planet or moon about the same size to the right of the normal one. It was also moving. As it was moving very slowly I went to get a cup of tea. On my return the other object had moved closer to Alderaan. Over the next 15 minuets or so it moved closer, passing behind the planet towards the lower right corner of the screen. By this time it was still pretty small but you could see it was grey. In never got big enough however to clearly see any details.

I had a quick search on the forums for this but did not find anything. I can't be the only one to have seen this. Is this old news? Has anyone else seen this?

    S

Have not noticed this. Will have to open SWTOR on the second monitor and camp Alderaan! :D

  9. Loving this new bug. :)

Resetting my UI or attempting to log out and log back in are not working.

Not new. Have had this happen to me a few times during the last few months. I Alt+Tab and close the SWTOR.EXE process so I don't get automatically removed from the group, then restart the game and I'm back in with the UI and still in group (provided I haven't been votekicked).

  10. But question is, why do you want windows 8?

If you use your PC for gaming there's really no rational reason NOT to buy Windows 8. It's simply a technically better OS than 7 - in every single way. To forfeit all of its benefits just because of a redesigned start menu (which you can choose not to use anyway) is stupid. This is just another thing totally blown out of proportion by the hysteric internet "community". Sad, really. :tran_frown:

  11. There are so many side quests in this game that you only need to do about half of them to reach max level. I usually do all quests on two planets in a row and then skip the next two (apart from the class quests, obviously) . On my inquisitor, I just completed all quests on Hoth and went straigt to Correlia, doing only my class quests on Belsavis and Voss.

This way, you can level several characters in one faction and never repeat a quest. I think it's great.

  12. I may consider this, and just play around until lvl 20 on a few different classes. It's good advice.

Yep, the answers aren't too different. Thanks for your advice here, and on reddit.

I think the problem is that I've been skipping huge chunks of planet quests, because at lower levels I was about 4-5 levels ahead of the planets that I was on (see CrazedMike's Leveling guide). I guess now, I'll have to work harder on gearing myself and my companion.

I agree, but my brother (sniper) does a good job at soloing bosses, by using his companion as a tank.

    -----------------------------

Thanks for the advice guys. I may as well get this toon to level 50 and/or at least try to recover.

My main character is a sniper and I did have trouble levelling at times. I was an armourmech, so my tank companion was always reasonably geared. Still at some segments in the game I barely made it though fights. The tank always died and I survived with low health (Act I finale was sooo difficult for me. Died about 10 times). It got lot better more towards the end, though. I recommend you to stick with the character to the end an see how you're doing then. You might get better and enjoy it! ;)

  13. You're upgrading your new OS because of your processor and motherboard? That makes 0 sense as it gives no performance increase in gaming whatsoever.

Don't upgrade to Windows 8 - if you know Microsofts pattern you'd know every 2nd OS they release is utter garbage. Cue Vista, ME, and Windows 2000 (non-server)

If you give someone an advice regarding buying an OS, at least make sure it's correct. Windows 8 uses less system ressources than Win7 and offers better threading support. As you can see in these benchmarks, Win8 actually does give a performance increase in games, even if a minimal one.

I run Win8 Pro myself and SWTOR works just fine. I advise you to do a clean install of the OS, just in case. Installing it ontop of an existing Windows install might cause some issues.

  14. The "token" amount (yes the pun was intended) given will probably get you a useless item, requiring vast amounts of sub time OR real cash to obtain the good stuff (which SHOULD be given to subbers anyway....)

Like it or not the Gouge is incoming.

Just to point it out, you don't deserve anything from the cartel market as a subscriber that you don't have currently. You pay the subscription and have all the features in the game unlocked - the cartel market let's you get optional cosmetic items (e.g. gear) which don't impact your gameplay or convencience stuff (e.g. instant species unlocks) that you would have to unlock for large amounts of in-game credits or playtime.
