    Community Cantina events dead?

    Relax, there will be more events. There's no point of announcing them too soon. BW's Staff needs to concentrate on upcoming KOTFE chapters. Cantina events are often scheduled around big conventions. Having an event during the winter months is not a great idea. Bad weather can screw up too many people's travel plans.

     

    That could be, except PAX South is the last weekend in January and is right in their own backyard. I very much enjoyed the event last year and I was hoping they'd do it again.

    Friday Community Stream with Courtney and Musco 1/9/2015

    Although I am not Hillary, I can provide an answer! There really isn't a specific topic for the stream. It will just be one of our usual "casual" community streams. There are no big announcements or anything planned. Certainly Courtney and I will answer questions though, and Tait and Hillary will be hanging around in chat.

    A Courtney/Musco stream signals a change from the recent pattern though of Hillary/Courtney playing one faction and Musco/Tait on the other. Does this mean we'll get to see some new characters today?

    Where Were You...3 Years Ago!

    3 years ago feels like so long, and yet oddly like it was also only moments ago.

     

    I remember very well where I was during the launch of SW:TOR, seeing as I was streaming during the beta, early access, and then again on the official launch. It was a fantastic experience, and easily one of my favorite amongst all the launches I've been involved in. THE HYPE WAS REAL.

     

    One of my favorite memories was streaming the final beta day. Various streams, including Towelliee, decided to have a dance party in Dromund Kaas cantina, most of us joining in the same phase as we all had fun and waved one final goodbye to the test server before making our transition to our new home. That was the first time I passed the 1k viewer milestone on Twitch and, as I had promised in a previous stream, if that happened then I had to rap.

     

    Not only were my beats waaay off, but my face was redder than a tomato, though naturally I ended it all with a classic Rickroll and had a good laugh with the rest of the people viewing. The engagement from the community then, several months after, and even now, has never ceased to amaze me. So many fun, passionate, helpful gamers that play TOR, which has easily rocketed this MMO to the top of my favorite games list.

    I almost didn't get to play at launch. I specifically took time off work for launch and ended up at work anyway. Everything went wrong that night, people didn't show up. Work was busier than usual. Somebody had to leave early... and when my boss called I didn't care about any of those things, but she was hot so I ended up at work ;)

     

    I still managed to get done in time to reserve all my favorite character names though so it worked out :cool:

    That's kind of a shame about requiring a pass. I'll still get to go but some of the people I was hoping to meet won't be there because of it :( I'm still excited to meet the community team and everyone else who does get to attend though :)

     

    PS Will there be sandwiches and string cheese?

    Friday Community Stream with Tait and Musco 12/5/2014

    As many of your are likely aware, we have a stream today that starts at 4PM CST. Tait and Musco will be streaming together for our Friday community stream.

    Friday Community Stream with Courtney and Hillary (10/24)

    Apparently, last time that there was a stream with Courtney and Hillary, the stream chat was pretty toxic. I didn't see it, but I heard that the chat went well beyond the regular trolling/complaints territory and into sexual harassment land.

     

    Actually seeing such comments directed toward Hillary usually makes me angry, but I don't recall the last Hillary/Courtney stream being as bad as you're making it out to be. I am one of those useless optimists though and fully admit my memories tend to be rose colored.

    ...and BTW AMD is actually Better than Intel for most things its also a lot cheaper :p, the usual rule of more expensive is better does not actually apply in this situation...

     

     

    I've been using AMD products for well over 20 years and while this used to be true, it is not at present. AMD is moving forward with APUs that reduce power consumption while improving integration. They're positioning themselves well to take over mobile gaming. Imaging putting an APU with Radeon R7 graphics into a Windows tablet for example.

     

    As for the original post, the "1" series AMD FX CPUs had some issues that were resolved in the "3" series. What I mean by that is for example the 6100 series vs. the 6300 series. Look for the "3" and you'll find a better CPU. That having been said your rig should run SWTOR without issue regardless.
