  1. I just want to point out to people who are saying FFXIV will probably go F2P that FFXI is still subscription based after more than 10 years and 200k-500k subscriptions (whatever they are at now, I'm not sure).

And for people who are hesitant, sure I agree with that and sure new MMOs always have hype around launch BUT it is an entirely different game than it was in its original launch. Nobody can deny that.

  2. After the first day of arenas on the PTS. It appears OP heals are still the go to choice. Smuggle is an amazing ability to have in the opening and allows teams to get the drop on those who do not have it. Of course, the heavy reliance on OP/Scoundrel just may be because there is a lack of commando/merc heals on the PTS.

I'm down for trying, but I haven't run into any solid groups yet. I keep getting tanks who want to run away from me instead of taunting what's attacking me and some other funky things.

Shoot me a tell on the PTS (Aramyth) or a PM on here if you want to try running with a Commando healer.

  3. It doesnt need to be changed. It has no impact on anything in game, other than being a personal preference.

And I think there are plenty of other things that the artists could be working on instead of this.

An animation developer could probably create a new animation in a few hours tops, especially something as simple as a shooting animation. Heck they could use the same assets from Rapid Shots, scale it up and make it one bullet (more or less) and done.

The solid green beam (which is actually blue for me as I have tritanopic eye color defincinvy ) is horrible looking. :/ I'm not sure why people are trying to justify it and say it's fine. It's ugly. Simple as that.

  4. Would bored have been a better substitute? Also grats on out healing pugs on our leet server. And yes, when a tank healer combo is stalling at our node, it's better to have a dps respond quickly since there is no need to worry about damage output on their end and I could totally use the other healer in middle with me so we don't get overrun in a 3v5 fight. It's a super-meta strat, I know, but knowing where a healer should or should not be is rather important even in our watered down version of ranked.

I don't know. You tell me. They're your emotions or is your emotional range that of a teaspoon so you can't even figure it out?

Well our DPS didn't, therefore I did what I had to do to stop the cap. Additionally, you make it sound like I randomly appeared on JC after server transfers. lol If it's so bad, why don't you leave? I have my reasons for staying on JC so please, just stop talking.

  5. First off, this is a crap argument. 90% of what population of commandos spec assault? Are you talking top tier ranked PVP or general population. Because the general population doesn't min/max their characters like that. Be clear, you are asking for balancing around the top 1-2% of PVP players, and it isn't going to happen.

If you are asking for balancing around your in-ability to min/max your own character, then you need to suck it up and work harder.

Someone's reading comprehension skill isn't levelled up.

  6. The thing is SWTOR combat is fun, but we haven't gotten anything new since Ancient Hypergate for PvP and we still don't have any objective/siege based open world PvP. 2.4 really has to bring it.
  7. You were *sad*? I think you need to sort out your emotions on that one. I also don't understand why you can't seem to grasp that it was a TROLL POST in a trolling thread. Lol It wasn't meant to be a "look at how awesome commandos are", I just used it because it had high overall numbers that were higher than the Sages and Scoundrels in that particular game. I am SURE I have others where I've done more healing than the other classes, higher HPS, higher single biggest heal and probably more damage taken taken and more damage taken with less deaths. I don't understand your need to rip on people.

I'm also pretty sure you were the same guy who gave me crap in a game for being the first person to run back to our pylon to stop a cap. A Commando should NEVER be the first one back to a node when all they have is hold the line and we had people with Sprint, SCAMPER and Transcendence.

  8. Anore was queued as a 2man with Travail. He rarely goes in anything more than a 2man group.

    It was a generalization.

Well, I'm not sure why you went out of your way to turn this into a Aramyth vs Anore thread anyway.

  9. the average reg will be a much better measure of class balance than that particular RWZ. the range of gear and alts and so forth. I was on a full assault vg (took assault platique). there was a smasher guarding west. one team had three heals and a tank. the other 2 and a tank (why ara was essentially able to free cast). we were very disorganized. I've been in more organized pugs. it really was a gits and shiggles match. s'all I'm sayin.

I don't know what was going on with anore's match, but...well...there were bigger names in that one, and they were attacking him.

    :2cents:

lol A kickball RWZ is basically a pug regular, to some degree except we "balance" the classes in terms of how many dps, healers, and tanks but you know this. In that particular match I did have both my heals on cooldowns often from interrupts.

Anore is definitely better healer than me. I'll admit that, but he definitely has a different play style than I do. I noticed in his screenshots that he generally has low objective points, medals and damage. But my guess is he's also generally running with 3 other people that he is confident in their playing. I do A LOT of solo queues and have to be a more "well rounded" player in order to get my wins. I generally play very objective based and pre-transfers it wasn't unusual for me to finish regular games with 900k+ damage taken either.

Either way, the initial screenshot post was a troll post. XD

Also remember this http://imageshack.us/f/28/whathow.jpg/ everyone called game bug on that one. Just saying boys. ;)

  10. We arent going to be directly affecting any changes with these questions; I think they are more for getting a feel for what the devs are working on relating to our class and our perceived issues with it.

Sure, maybe directly it won't be affecting any changes to the class with our questions, but it's obvious they want to see what the community is concerned about and to think they won't be at least analyzing the questions to some degree would be naive. I think it the community's questions are about "what's wrong with (insert class here)" then it would raise questions among the development team. I think it's something we, and you perhaps, should consider.

Which I also want to point out that I don't think we should waste our questions on asking about the Assault tree. Does it need to be fixed? Yes. Do we need to ask about it? No. vanguards and Powertechs are already going to do that because it was their main DPS tree. The hits Commando took to the Assault trees were because of them anyway. I think we should focus in our strong points in hops of making them better in the future; combat Medic and Gunnery.

    For PvP:

Combat Medics in 2.0 still have the worst overall healing numbers in PvP and are now the easiest healer to take down. Are there plans to address this with either buffing the Commandos defensive abilities or buffing their single target heals since we are the single target healers in the game. (Note: say we are the easiest to kill to get the biggest reaction. I don't think we are but sometimes it sure feels like it.)

    For PvE:

    Anything about our Ammo Regeneration.

I'm not sure what questions could be asked without singling out the class trees. Other than something about Ammo Regeneration or about our long cooldowns on things like Tech Override, Reserve Powercell and Recharge Cells or about the changes made to Adrenaline Rush.

  11. I don't think that person was referring to trying to actually dps and heal and fill two roles, but more like a DPS commando CAN throw down an aoe heal or an off heal and it's still decent and a healer commando can still throw out good hitting high impact bolts etc.

Sorry for ****** typing. I'm on a mobile device and I am being lazy. lol

  12. I haven't seen a commando healer yet that can come close to the top scoundrel/operative healers. Have you? That screenshot is a looooong way off the best ops.

    http://www.torbattles.net/boards/boards.php?server=All&aclass=All&mirror=no&category=healing&top=10

Most of those come from Novare matches, meaning duration of the match is a huge factor.

Don't get me wrong. I know they are the weakest of the three healers. I've been playing mine since launch and I'm the first to insult the class but the class still holds it's own very well. The 2.0 commando is what they needed to be in 1.7. They just need to up the base healing on the commando heal (by 300-450) and buff Bacta Infusion a little. :

  13. Now you tell me: If we don't have bolster who will be the first back here complaining about the baddies who play in pve gear, because the can't afford thier pvp gear yet?

You used to get a free recruit set, which would put stats in a similar range. Bad players, for the most part, don't lose matches because of gear/stats, they lose because of bad strategy.
