  1. I have had no problems logging in since 7.4.1 launch, until this morning.  Launcher error code: 964-Repository Sync_Error-Stall Timeout.

Have rebooted computer and still can't log in and am getting the same message on launcher.  Was fine last night.

  2. Except it does not work. I just bought a new Alienware desktop gaming computer.

Windows 11. I does not work, and in fact corrupted the windows 11 operating system.

So telling people is works, is not true and will cause the unsuspecting a lot of problems.

"less generic", now, that's a good one!

Listen, if i had to do ANYTHING except accepting the update pushed by Microsoft, I'd certainly inform about that.

I have done nothing extra, except running the update from Win 10 to Win 11.

It took about 10 minutes and that was ALL.

Nothing has changed in any of my programs (and I have more than games) , indeed the Windows layout changed mostly in some of the visual features (which I do not particularly like - because it starts looking more and more like IOs) but in terms of functionality, none of (so far) used programs had ANY problem with running.

So, it is not THAT frightening, really.

It seems to me like it is rather a cosmetic change than a "systemic" one, but I am just a simple user or the computers, not a developer.

So, if just an random user tells you, it it works, it works.

  3. There is definitely a problem. I just bought a new Alienware desktop gaming computer. I comes with Windows 11.

Downloaded the game. It not only doesn't work with windows 11, is corrupted my OS, so that had to be reinstalled. I have spent hours on the phone with Dell tech support. They reinstalled a new OS. Downloaded the game, and poof no more operating system. Now I'm stuck with a gaming computer I can't play a game on, or returning it for a refund.

Bioware, please investigate this issue. I'm returning my computer and will continue with Windows 10 on my msi for the game for now. But this problem needs to be fixed or when this laptop dies I won't be playing anymore. I'm certainly not going to by a new gaming laoptop or desktop if the only game I play is not compatible with Windows 11.

There most certainly *is* a doubt. Until BioWare tries SWTOR on prerelease versions of Windows 11, they don't *know* that it will work without changes, so there's a doubt. It's a new version of Windows, so there is a doubt that everything that SWTOR does will "just work".

Ultimately, if something about your software or its environment (e.g. the OS underneath it) changes, you test it, because until you do, you have to treat it as fatally broken. Who knows, maybe it *will* just work, but until you test it, you won't know.

My background: I've worked as a developer since the beginning of 1989, and I did some "summer job" developer work before that. There are more PCs than people at my home at the moment (like five for each human), and when you add the two Raspberry Pi 3B+es and a firewall(1), and all the rest, the ratio is slightly ridiculous.

1998 brought the imminent arrival of the first versions of Windows 98, and I was working on a product for Windows 95. My company joined the 98 beta program to make sure my stuff would continue to work (it did, but we didn't know until I tried it), and I was in the top 8% of people reporting Win98Beta bugs to Microsoft. Um. I reported three bugs, and that got me in the top 8%...

The key point, though, is that we didn't know our product would work until we tried it, so we tried it. BioWare should be doing the same. (I don't know for sure, but I expect they did it back when, during the run-ups to Windows 8 and 8.1 and 10 and 10 Creator's and ....)

    (1) A free-standing firewall in a box of its own inside my network, not a minor software module inside endpoints. It picks up all manner of goofy stuff, notably that the CDN used by Steam for the store pages doesn't follow the HTTP RFCs, which left my Steam client showing blank pages in the store until I fixed up special filtering rules to disable the alarm in question just for them. (Their own advice is to turn off stateful inspection for all connections to anything Steam. No, not happening, guys.) I have the firewall because I work for the company that makes it.

  4. I would agree 326 is fine, however, fully geared augmented 306 is better gear... at least until 326... this last "expansion" has made the grind worse than before..... and this time I don't even get better gear. The gear launded with legacy of the sith is crap. Not allowing ups to mod to our specifications, i.e. more crit or alacrity or accuracy is wrong. I know we all worked hard to grind out the 306 gear.... now we have to again with a completely unbalanced pay system, too many aquatic per piece. There is not a single thing I like about the new expansion, and while not a founder I have been subscribed since September 2012. That's a lot of money spent, a lot of time and now seems it was a waste.

    1) Fair complaint, they are working on a weapon outfitter. It is already on PTS.

    2) Lets say, there is no weekly cap right. Then you keep farming Aquatics and Aquatics and Aquatics, but why? To do what? What do you need so many for? Its like people complaining about the Medals of Commendations, you don't spend all of them in a week anyway, like why even want the cap to be higher, its not like you could spend them in any good way anyway. It just doesn't matter.

    3) You can still do TC. Nobody does because there is no reason anymore, you could still do TC run and to say it wasn't an exploitation or at the very least a clever way of game mechanics would be a lie. TC just gave too many fragments, maybe its worth doing TC again in 7.0.2 when they make OPS bosses drop more fragments.

    4) You can only get Rakata gear from MM OPs true, but 326 is also fine and it doesn't make much of a difference. With 306 Gear everyone had gear, making gear worthless. Now 330 is at least somewhat cool, sure you could farm Nefra 20 times a week and run EV for Hazardous with 306 earpiece and get easy 330 but who really grinds that hard :D It is neither good nor bad, its just different.

  5. This 100%. The date night idea is great too. Just something repeatable that doesn't require special animation or dialogue so all romances can get it. I want a repeatable date with Scourge and Torian :o

100% agree. Just grinding for more gear again is really disappointing.

  6. Gearing is too much. Reduce or eliminate tech frags. Ossus rewards are still after a month unopenable. Latest FP is broken. GS is more geared to WZ and Galactic Starfighter. I don't know the percentages but I have been a full subscriber since 2012. The new gear starting with 320 is terrible. The previous gearing was harder to get full sets, but doable."
  7. I have a question about the choice to side with the empire or republic, or rejoin the empire or the republic. At what point will this really matter.

I have run Retaliation on a Sith Allied Warrior and a Republic aligned Agent. Zero difference so far. Granted, I paused while running both in same place and there was nothing to indicate that my agent traitor to the empire acted any differently than my empire loyalist.

I wish the writers could keep up with things like that, it makes it not worth the effort to venture down each choice with different characters.

  8. So long to "Play your way" buh bye. Do you guys not like subscribers? You finally finally FINALLY had Conquest in a great spot. The majority of us are happy! Stop nerfing  !! Only add objectives and points to longer/harder objectives. Why is this concept so difficult to comprehend??? Just say NO to nerfs!

    This exactly.

  9. Agree 100%

I have no idea why the argument over activities that drop the soon to be new augment mats is here, not in the other thread with the same argument, or the new augment thread itself, but just because i want to make the same argument in one of the places its taking place and this is the most appropriate:

Since the changes to cq and before they nerf it again, I don't even know how you avoid doing cq. Last time I logged in, I did one cz and boom toon at cq cap.

Secondly, obviously the current tier crafting mats are wildly more accessible than "NiM or granked only". I think that is obvious, because Mr Schmidt quite literally stated:

    [/color]

So I think, frankly, these items are in fact more restricted than the current tier; furthermore, that increased restriction is by design.

Now we can split all the peas we want over whether this is good or bad. Obviously these things are going to be very minor. That is why, when i mentioned regs PvP in the other thread, I said "hypothetical advantage". BW refuses to admit that either something has a statistically significant difference in, say dps, or there's absolutely zero point releasing it at all. That is the very definition of optimization, as anyone who's taken calc 1 should know. (I think optimization problems were calc 1? Its been a while).

Which leads me back to my true protest against these things: its obvious that its going to be a while before we get any new content (otherwise why would Mr Schmidt have mentioned it?). If I extrapolate or read between the lines a bit, perhaps also people playing say NiM Dxun and granked are diminishing. Thus they are using these as an attempt to get more people to do those 2 specific things. (I would point out also, that for literally any other, even NiM, Op these things are even less useful because of the idiotic BW method of recycling old content without raising it to 75).

So, to my mind the only areas that stand to notice an even hypothetical impact are: Dxun (all modes), the new FP (all modes), and PvP (all modes). Literally everything else is downscaled.

So we're back to my true point, and what has been my point for literal years: GEAR IS NOT A TRUE SUBSTITUTE FOR CONTENT i have literally gotten so bored with gear grinding I went and found other games. That, in conjunction with BWs continued poor decision making, means that unless something dramatically changes i will stop paying BW when my current sub ends. And Mr Schmidt, Mr Kanneg, and whoever else at BW may read "feedback", I have utterly lost faith in your organization. I did not buy anthem; as a long time fan of mass effect, I will likely reconsider my potential purchase of a remastered ME trilogy; and frankly, even if you made a KOTOR 3, my experience here has deeply routed my excitement for the franchise. I have serious doubts BW could pull off a successful follow up to the series that brought me into PC gaming when I was younger. Please prove me wrong.

I was here for the long game, one of a select few who was happy with what we got as a KOTOR 3-10. And you have slowly, beaten away every reason I had for playing your game I was once so happy enjoying.

  10. Hi friends,

With Game Update 6.1.4 we are introducing a new tier of augments to the game, with materials added to our prestige game modes.

For a little background, we try to strike a balance between the right time to introduce new power to chase into the game and respecting your time invested in getting to the current maximum level of gear. We also want to refresh interest in our prestige modes by adding a very clear incentive while we work on the next batch of new content.

We have a few goals here. First, in PvE, it has been several months since Dxun Master Mode released. Top-end guilds have cleared the content and achieved the timed run achievements. Guilds still progressing in Dxun could use a slight boost to help get over the hill of that next boss, and a slight power bump should help. We don’t want progression to stagnate, and we would also like to make it worth people’s time to farm older Master Modes in order to gear up the next batch of recruits for the most current content.

In PvP, we want to continue to foster more high quality matches in Ranked, especially Group Ranked. So far this year we’ve boosted rewards to that end, but haven’t seen as much movement there as we would like. So, in addition to boosting conquest rewards for Ranked (as indicated in David’s post), we are introducing an additional exclusive reward which is required to build the new augments.

To be clear, these augments will require BOTH the PvE material (only available in Master Mode Operations) AND the PvP material (only available in Ranked) to craft. We acknowledge that many players prefer one mode over the other, however we have a robust trading economy that rewards those who make these scarce materials available either via the Galactic Trade Network or simply trade chat.

    Basics

The new Augments will require materials from Master Mode Operations, Ranked PvP Missions and Boxes, and the Cybertech Crew Skill to assemble the new materials. They will be Item Level 300, and named “Superior _____ Augment 77”, depending on the augment. Crafting is split between Armormech, Synthweaving, and Armstech (like existing augments), and those schematics will be available from the Crew Skill Trainer for 35,000 credits.

This is basically telling people who play your way, we don't care about you. I hate PVP because you can't get rid of the cheaters. I don't raid so basically once I finish Onslaught there is no reason for me to play. As a subscriber since 2012 I find this unfair. Raiders are gonna raid that's what they love, pvps are going to do that. But the rest of us who play for fun and story have been seriously ignored. Choices don't matter, not in any real sense, you made crafting not only unprofitable but expensive. If you don't start supporting the "play your way" solo players you are going to end up with nothing but raiders and pvpers who are NEVER satisfied.

  11. Here are the things that would have to happen.

It is difficult mechanically, but not impossible:

You would have to have access to the other fleet.

You would possibly have no more access to your original side's planets, heroics, flashpoints and operations.

You would have access to the opposing side planets, heroics, flashpoints, operations.

Right now there is no dialogue or companion approval/disapproval for story lines on planets that are not your original faction. Those would have to be added.

All in all, this would be quite expensive (additional dialogue: voice actors, etc). So somewhat doubtful it would happen.

Although there could possibly be a third option of only new worlds where your new faction would come into play.

I'm fine with this . I'n about at the point of not playing on Empire side past the end of KOTET. If they sabotours can't eventually actually join the other faction in full view there is no point to it.

  12. In a future update PLEASE allow sabotours to come out of hiding. I'm about done trying to be a sabotaur because it's hard , emotionally. Just either take the option away or allow the sabotour to fight and reside on the side they choose. If not it's not even worth playing that storyline.
  13. Playing through the star fortress on alderaan on my inquisitor and I got to the final boss, but after I killed the droid waves coming out of the two doors and waited for one of the monitor droids to come out on the sides, I realized they weren't coming out. I thought it was just a little glitch and I would just need to wait but they still didn't come out even after waiting 10 minutes, which meant i couldn't beat the boss, is there a way to fix or do I have to restart the entire thing??

Personally I don't think star fortresses are worth the effort. We don't need more companions, the only one that has any effect on story at all is Voss and it's minor. Before they screwed with them I could solo the heroic 2 after they screwed with them it's a struggle. And yes that glitch happens every once in a while since day one and has never been fixed.

  14. Couldn't agree more, I've enjoyed the crafting system since beta, but since Onslaught it's neither fun or rewarding anymore. Please, Bioware, give crafting a make-over, or at least change it back to it's previous state.

I agree. They need to do something. Nothing should require 8 Solid Resource Matrix, I used to love crafting and had mastered all skills and schematics. Now it's just not worth it.

  15. How we can actually get 303 schematics/crafting recipes?

I was able to gram a full set of 300/302 gear in 2 days of gameplay (running flashpoints with my lvl 75 char) he started in old 260 gear. I was working 8/10 hours a day (rl), so calculate with few hours gameplay in night hours.

Now with a great effort I reached 700 in some crafting and gathering skills. Now I'm wondering that where we can get 303 schematics? I count as 303 is the base / the origo after 6.0 and logically with crafting we go just for stat variations, amplifier variations.

    - I could not find any schematics at crafting vendors

    - I deconstructed about 100+ looted gear/item modification that all were trash/for scrap items: "cannot learn new schematics by deconstructing the items"

    Do I miss something?

Thanks in advance for the info!

I've been unable to get beyond 286 because of components needed. Those I can craft are not the problem so is the Processed isotope (just run a lot of flashpoints) it's the solid resource matrix that is total bs. They need to fix crafting or once you finish onslaught there is no reason to continue until.

  16. for current content you can only learn schematics from the vendors, and items you yourself craft, nothing else. they do go all the way up to 306, but are not worthwhile for anything except augments and reusables due to absurd costs.

I've been leveling schematics since 6.0 launch I cannot re engineer beyond 278. 1 cost, and two when I attempt to rng 278 armoring or any other schem it says Not available. (this is on 278 I have crafted not the drops).

So how do I get gear above 278 (if cost were no option) because rrng does not work.

  17. Patch 6.0.2 will be our last update for 2019 and we’ll target its availability mid-December. It’ll have additional bug fixes along with the following:

Life Day returns and has new items for you to enjoy.

It’s our 8th year anniversary, so the vendor will have some new items.

We’re adding new missions on Mek-Sha, including new heroics.

You’ll be able to recruit Tharan for your Consular and as he says, “It’s Tharan, not spelled the dumb way”.

Ranked Season 12 for our PvP players begins and winners from last season will get their well-deserved rewards.

Crafting changes – it begins! Yes, we’re taking a hard look at crafting and will make some adjustments starting with this patch.

Thanks! best news in months. I really really hope the make crafting worth bothering with again.
