the new windows update is a known performance issue across almost all games. You should just uninstall it. Google around you will find tons of articles. This is Microsofts issue

Hi folks,
We're aware of an issue that players are experiencing with Nico Okarr’s Alliance Alert not being granted when using the Encrypted Holocommunicator. To prevent this issue from affecting more players, we have temporarily disabled the purchase of all Companions from the Galactic Seasons vendor Jaleit Nall and we will be removing them from this vendor in our next patch. The Companions will return to the vendor in a future patch during Season 1 once we have resolved the Alert granting issue.
Players who try to purchase Niko Okarr or future Companions’ Encrypted Lockbox will encounter the following error message:
- "You do not meet the requirements to purchase this item."
We are currently working on a fix for this, we will update this thread when we have more information.

Experiencing huge ping swings from 160 - 40,000. Normally my ping is about 40. This is only happening in SWTOR

I was getting today horrible unplayable lag. i switched on run as administrator and it seems to have fixed the issue for me.
this made no difference for me

normal ping is about 35-55 for me. today its 600 - 3k.

+1 this but my ping will spike to 30k.
Able to play all other games without any packet loss or connectivity issue.
Seasons vendors do not sell companions.
