  1. And there was no story in previous expansions? When was there an expansion that came out with just operations?

It's not just about the lack of operations, it's about the lack of balance, both class-wise and content-wise.

As for downward level scaling, that's ONLY for SOLO mode flashpoints, where you get Bot Norris to do all the work for you. Nowhere have I seen BW announce it'd be for planets too, if anyone can enlighten me on this point I'd be grateful.

And even if it were on planets, whoop-dee-doo, you'll still have all your abilities, and be in much better gear relatively. Kingpins scale to your level and not one of them isn't soloable. Heroics will still be soloable if you have half an idea of your class, and if you don't, I guess you could briefly make the game co-op and have someone help you out.

Solo mode flashpoints, solo story content, soon solo operations? Solo game.

Also, here's a surprise; I like story. I like it a lot. But this story seems lazy. Due to some deus ex machina, empire and republic are gone, you've been gone 5? years, and you end up somewhere else clean slate.

Lazy storytelling, throw everything that happened before out the window, start anew to make it easier. For a drawn-out episodic story that supposedly will keep one sedate for a long time.

  2. That statement is so ridiculous. Just because they're only adding story with the expansion it suddenly becomes "single player". They said they are focusing on story then adding in ops later. They're not removing them entirely. If you don't like the direction then you're free to leave.

Later later later, it's always later, how much later? What's wrong with including OPs in the story? What's wrong with balancing classes? What's wrong with limiting ability bloat? What's right in adding another 5 levels and just stretching out the discipline trees? What's right in adding a solely single player new content expansion in a MMO.

"Let us not focus on the stuff we messed up, let us instead focus on what we did right in the beginning, story."

    Damn the rest.

And yeah, I'm going to play Wildstar next week, apparently it's going f2p. And if that doesn't work out, I guess I'll have to endure until Fallout 4, a single player story game, comes out. And check back in when KOTFE comes out hoping it's not going to be the trainwreck I fear it will be.

But if you can't handle some criticism, maybe it is you who should leave here.

  3. I don't believe anyone is threatening with legal actions. (Because that would be stupid, and they'd lose anyway.)

They're just disappointed it is not really Nico's coat, just a re-skin with his name plastered on it. I guess it's their fault for believing it would be any more than just a re-skin. I guess they were expecting something that was actually new. Something worth subbing for, regardless of the normal perks.

Something representative of the quality of the new expansion. Hmm...... ;)

  4. If you pay money by X date, you get nico's coat. At this time all you know how it looks like, is from the trailer. Afterwards we will just re-skin a coat that's already in-game and looks nothing like the one from the trailer.

    What you get: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/COe7bl1W8AEOSiJ.jpg:large

This was surely not misrepresentation of the product. In no way was it used to persuade people into commercial transactions.

  5. Is anyone else not yet convinced this expansion, and everything revolving around it, is a rushed attempt to capitalize on the new movie's hype? Forgoing existing problems to provide apparent luster for the supposed new fans.

    - Crap new abilities, because more ability bloat is what we need. Any abilities worthwhile would be too time-consuming to balance and design. Mere mirrored skills taken from other classes.

    - Re-skins take less time.

    - Main stat change to mastery resulting in less gear they have to come up with.

    - Stretching out disciplines rather than add stuff on the road to 65.

    - Stuff I'm probably forgetting to mention.

And yet with all this, the episodes are still going to be buggy as hell, and no doubt delayed constantly. Sigh.

  6. There are no mechanical changes you will see between the two for KP/EV HM vs NIM. Leave it in and hand out 224 gear for killi g the same thing as in HM with 0 mechanical changes. yeah nah.

No one is asking for top tier gear from them, are they? Hell it'd be pretty stupid if they did that. I think we can all agree on that. And like I said before, puzzle pillars and soa have small mechanical differences, so you're wrong there as well.

  7. Its not broken at all, the operations were hard enough to be granted top tier gear so why keep them in to confuse people.

    What?

Anyway, so the reason for this change is, they don't believe EV and KP NiM are hard enough to drop top tier gear.

Alright, fine, then don't let them drop top tier gear, let them drop the same crap as HM and keep their current vanity items. Treat them as your stepchild but don't kill them off.

FYI Pillar Puzzle and SoA did have slightly different mechanics between HM and NiM :p

  8. I do not think the developers are lazy, underpaid, or don't play the game. In fact, I think they have probably put a lot of time and effort into the KotFE expansion and class updates/changes, are paid decent enough, and love to play the game.

I don't know, everything about KOTFE sounds like a rushed expansion with the sole goal of riding the new movie hype in an attempt to attract the new fans, while totally ignoring their older playerbase. To give them an instant level 60, and what would be for them all new content with the scaled up Operations and Flashpoints.

If I were a new player all this would be totally awesome.

They're not lazy, nor underpaid. But they're not playing the game that you might think, they're playing the business game.

Is ignoring your loyal playerbase worth it for a cashgrab? Apparently so... I hope it doesn't blow up in their face. Though I think most will be put off by the F2P model, maybe they'll stick around because Bad Dash sounds so "fun" right?

  9. Out of 20 pages of comments I have only seen 2-3 positive comments, the rest of them are negative. Even though I know not everyone is expressing their opinions here it gives you some indications on how well these new changes have met the expectations of the player base.

I've been playing since shortly after ROTHC, just to establish the time, not as in a sense of entitlement.

Never have I been so opposed to something, up til now I've just taken everything good or bad.

But this, THIS, this is just so wildly retarded I could no longer sit idly by and just swallow it. Out of fear how horrid it would obviously taste.

Every 45 seconds! I would be able to run in a 20m straight line. At which point I can only assume the devs realized how retarded that sounded and said, "well lets just add 100% defense rating, the least useful of tank stats, and a pitiful amount of aoe damage, that'll make it useful"

And either end up 20m closer to my target - if said target hasn't moved yet - or overshoot it, so I should just stand there and wait until they're further away. Or I could use it to run away.

I could also use it defensively to parry white melee/ranged attacks which do the least amount of damage, and end up 20m away from my original target.

Sounds to me the most useful of these is to run away, is this what is intended? What's next? Use it to LoS and heal to full, then make them pay?

  10. Then why not write it as such? There's zero need to be hostile when you can express your dislike for something way better?

Here I'll help you out so you avoid this mistake in the future.

"Why not re-think the design of this ability for something else? I feel it might be better received if you do so." See? Not hard.

Because they won't listen to either, and because I don't want to.

What mistake? Who decides what is a mistake and what isn't? Is this a test? Am I failing it? OH NOES.

I'll tell you what there's zero need for; Mad Dash.

  11. Telling them to mad derp back to the drawing board and stop smoking crack while having their heads up their own *** is an insult.

That is not an insult, but an expression. I will translate for you.

Go back to the drawing board and stop being so out-of-touch with reality and being so oblivious.

Otherwise known as that more colorful expression.

Now, how about we go back on-topic rather than nitpicking on a, in some eyes, less than socially accepted expression. Because it might hurt someone's feels on the internet.
