  1. 7.5 / 10

It has some starswars-y sound to it.

    My Warrior is named Tavros.

'Tavros' is bull in the Greek language (I am Greek). And I thought it could also be a name in Star Wars lore. Ashara Zavros anyone? :)

    I like it, 7/10

    Darth Nethilios, my Marauder.

  2. Are for real? I've distanced myself from WoW for a while now and it was pretty hard to even pull up a price for the expansions, but seriously $40+? The fact that people still pay money for that game and spend $40 on expansions makes me ashamed to call myself a gamer right now.

I recently bought it for $30 and I believe back on cyber Monday it was $20.

  3. Difference:

SWTOR - $10 ($20 if your F2P), One zone, no released content on raids, tier gear, ect but you better know you'll see the Cartel Market involved in it, lack of fourth pillar (what they sold the game on). Oh and lets not mention that this wasn't even suppose to be a expansion, it was suppose to be a content upgrade that was going to be free until the Hickman effect.

WoW - $30, 7 zones, raids, free content patches, new class, new race, and everything else that you expect with a REAL AAA MMO.

    Fixed.

  4. I do my dallies (all of them) once a day for roughly 300k, while I'm doing that I'm sending out my companions on missions, making gear (synthweaving), and tearing them apart to make MK-6 kits, I usually sell 10 a day for roughly 390-420k.

    so that's about 690-720k a day. ;)

  5. I still say it's lazy, they should have at least announced "The next four operations are going to have the same poorly designed armor sets, so if you're waiting for something you can be proud to earn and wear, unsubscribe for 6 months to a year and save yourself some money"

Granted, I do know that kind of honesty is fundamentally against good business practices, and even more so against EA's universally bad business practices, but I can dream damnit. :jawa_tongue:

Apparently you never played WoW. They've done the same thing for years. Waaaahh

  6. Erm, sorry, you are correct. I was counting the Hazmat set, but those are just implants at this point, though it won't surprise me if Hazmat becomes a full suit of armor at some point, using the same skins as the others.

Hazmat is just implants, not tiers of gear. ;)

Also, if you are curious...There is a video on this site where they show whats coming up in SWTOR. There is a part when they say "new level cap" or whatever and it shows a Jedi Knight...Well, if you noticed the Jedi Knight is in a completely new skin that has not been see before. Devs also said that Dread Guard was the last of this tier and a new tier will be out with the level cap.

  7. the problem is, the developers first set the bar high, there is a different set of armor graphically for each flashpoint. BT gear had a different look from Hammer Station which had a different look from mandalorian etc. Then you get to the end game, and suddenly, you've got three tiers of the same look in different shades of color, followed up by a new look but four tiers of that in different colors. It's like they just gave up caring or trying (especially with some of the designs, Sith Inquisitor gear is a good example of just god awful, that kind of look shouldn't make it into a comic book let alone a MMO with a two hundred million dollar budget).

I just want to point that part out, I don't know if that was a typo but there isn't FOUR different versions of the latest skin. Only three. Black Hole, Campaign, and Dread Guard.

Also I want to correct you when you said three tiers of the same skin in different color. They are the same tier, just "one up" versions of that tier. Kind of like WoW, when they release a tier there's 2-3 different re-colors of that tier with different or better stats. It's been no different.

There is only tier 1 and tier 2 out at this time.

  8. And you know what, i can complain that rakata is also a pathetic reskin, and that the designers were incredibly lazy. But my last post i was complaining about gear in general just looking awful.

Well Tionese isn't tier1 and Rakata Tier3. Their all "One up" in the same tier. Tionese, Columi, and Rakata are Tier1. Black Hole, Campaign, and Dread Guard are Tier2. So again, cry more. If you think that they should have made a different skin for each set up in a single tier, you are either out of your mind...or you think that there would already be 6 separate tiers of armor in this less than a year old game.

Also, just because you don't like how the gear looks, doesn't mean that everyone agrees with you. I think the Rakata gear is one of the best looking sets in the game. Dread Guard doesn't look THAT bad either with the better choice in colors.

  9. That whole post is nothing but SWTOR bashing. If they got so depressed over the "failure" of the game that they quit then maybe they should have sucked it up and listened to the fans in the first place.

"After users continued to decline and SWTOR went almost entirely free to play, to most, including EA apparently, that was the final straw that indicated the title was indeed a failure. Some fans may still enjoy it, but their numbers are dwindling and they’re not nearly enough to make the game the hit it was supposed to be."

That made me LOL. SWTOR still has a great fan base, and still plenty of players. If they are basing it as a failure because it doesn't have anywhere near as many subs as WoW, than every MMO but WoW was a failure.

  10. Black lightsabers are ugly and do not exist since black light (or energy) does not exist since black is nothing but the absence of light. The black lightsabers in the game are just yet another example of how dumb the people at BW are. Double-coloured lightsabers might have looked cool; purple and orange, red and white etc. But no, BW had to go with a combination that is ugly and - even within the rules of the universe - physically impossible. Kudos!

I think black lightsabers would be awesome. Black is an absence of light, but also the combination of all colors. While white is the opposite.

IMO if you call a pure black saber ugly then say a purp/orange would look cool then idk what to tell ya.

  11. I know this is another gear post, but this one is a little different. After going back and watching a video - Preview Exciting New Reveals from E3! Linky: http://www.swtor.com/info/media/trailers/preview-exciting-new-reveals-e3 - to be exact, is a short clip of a Jedi Knight wearing something I haven't seen before. it's at the 0:35 mark right after they say "New level cap and abilities".

I tried to take a picture of it and with my horrible editing skills I managed to get a good view of the gear, sadly I can't get the picture any bigger. http://s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj274/mcdoogle6969/?action=view&current=aaa-1.png

Now before anyone says it's a mix of WH/BH, you guys are wrong. Here are pictures of BH - http://media-titanium.cursecdn.com/attachments/40/183/egjk.jpg

and here are pictures of WH - http://www.trippintheforce.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Jedi-Knight-War-Hero-Gear.jpg

Now other than color they are completely different. I wonder why they didn't scrap the already hated and causing people to rage gear known as Black Hole, and implement this as the Dread Guard gear which seems to already be in design? Are they waiting for the next big content launch to bring this? Thoughts?

I know this is only a picture for one class, but I would assume the rest of the classes are probably already thought up and being designed in-game.

  12. Most of that looks like stuff that was introduced during 1.2/1.3

Infact, 80% of that is WH and Campaign gear.

At the 0:35 mark? Wrong. You must have bad eyes. Pause, look again, and bring up a picture of JK Campaign gear. Other than the same blue color and tan robes their completely different.

Never before seen boots, legs, gloves, and shoulders (so chest piece). Although it has a similar tan-ish robe, the hood is down and is blue.....Here, I'll do it for you!

In-fact, here is a picture that I took and pasted with my horrible editing skills (picture is tiny)... http://s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj274/mcdoogle6969/?action=view&current=aaa-1.png

    And here is a picture of BH/Campaign - http://www.trippintheforce.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Jedi-Knight-Gear-Tier-2.jpg

and of War Hero - http://www.trippintheforce.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/Jedi-Knight-War-Hero-Gear.jpg

So other than color, what's the same?

  13. Why would they start doing that now?

I know that they have another set of gear, at least one is seen in the "Preview Exciting New Reveals from E3!" video at 0:35....So they must be new gear designs already created but just waiting to be implemented into the game.

Here's the link to the video I'm talking about if anyone is interested. It's at 0:35 right after they say "New level cap and combat abilities". http://www.swtor.com/info/media/trailers/preview-exciting-new-reveals-e3
