  1. 5 posts today, before that your last post was in December. Sounds like you heard there was a "hate Bioware" bandwagon to jump on and came running after it shouting "Me too! Me too!"

Not that you don't have a right to complain, but your timing is a bit odd. Just wondering if you're been really waiting this long to find some sort of solace with your displeasure for this game.

Why do you focus so much on me? Is it because you don't actually have any arguments so you need to try to go for personal attacks? Sadly enough my guess is yes...

I'm leaving the game and echoing the post of someone who is also leaving the game I haven't posted in a long while because I didn't feel the need to, so what?

  2. Then why are you still here? It's a simple question really. If the game is no longer to your liking then move on. Do you still have hope Bioware will change this at the last minute? Are you petitioning other member to jump ship with you? What is still keeping you here?

Wait, you're not one of them ghosts with unfinished business are you?

I ended my sub last week, it still allows me to post for a few more months, so I posted to echo the OP's sentiment.

  3. That make a lot of assumptions there. Until you can provide an accurate tally of vets that left vs vets that stayed you can make no assumptions on how big of an impact the vets that leave will have.

Besides, any vet that leaves that still has a standing subscription for 3, maybe even 2, or more months means their "departure:" is irrelevant in the short term. And of these vets that do leave, it is statistically likely that they will eventually return when new content drops.

Basically, all we can do is speculate.

What new content? This game hasn't had any group content in what? Over a year or so? Right now SWTOR Is a sub to play single player RPG with no mods...

Also "Besides, any vet that leaves that still has a standing subscription for 3, maybe even 2, or more months means their "departure:" is irrelevant in the short term. " Well yeah it's irrelevant in the short term, as any shortsighted fool will agree.

Long term is what keeps a game alive thou...

  4. Then you'd finish the content in a couple of weeks and then be ************ about nothing to do and nothing to look forward to.

You seem to be more mad that they are requiring you to stay subbed month to month to access content (god forbid they charge you for content!). You can unsub, wait until it all had dropped, and then go play it ya know.

This is the last nail in the SWTOR coffin for me, it took me a long while to make all 8 of my characters and gets all the stories done, loved it and was looking forward to the event as something that would bring me back to playing this more then an hour a month.

But nope it's literally a "play the game all over again on an alt then delete him until you have done it 8 times".

What you say is exactly what"s wrong with this game, too many players are willing to stand up fro what is killing the game...

  5. this is downright a bit exageration... EA payed for the BLUR trailer... AND there is new content EVERY MONTH, just because you dont like it doesnt make it new.

Yeah, no there is no "new content every month", just the illusion of new content.

The monthly chapter crap? Yeah, that's just a way to stretch the equivalent of an expansion over several months, you know minus the group content and what not.

Rather then give us the finished product they trickle down releases to stretch the content, it really feel like they had this expansion more or less finished but nothing more in development. So the revert to a sub model and withhold release and give us a chapter a month with no development whatsoever being done in the bacground.

I wouldn't be surprised if after the final chapter is released they announced the servers were closing...

  6. What good did the blur video do for the game exactly? None. Have YOU seen an uptick in players? Of course not. They can make all the new videos they want, but until they invest in this new group content (this is an MMO I'll remind you), it'll do no good.

    Uptick of players?

This is game is infamous for it's horribly restrictive F2P model, it's the bench mark for stealth Sub to Play.

SWTOR has a horrible image, the lack of any kind of new group content and horribly designed events like this are gonna make sure word of mouth remains "avoid this MMO".

  7. The fact we need to make a petition for this to be done means they don't care about the vets, just the new players.

Which is so short sighted it's sad, this game is already THE poster child for needlessly restrictive F2P model, any forum that asks if the new MMO of the month has to be played as a sub asks "is the F2P as bad as SWTOR?". This game has nothing but the name Star Wars going for it, there are tons of better and real "F2P" MMOs out there now.

The word of mouth of this game is already horrible, now they're clearly pandering to new players with no thought to the vets, said vets being the only ones still defending this game and giving it positive reviews and recommending it to new players.

I don't see how they can think this event is a good idea as implemented, it's the dumbest way they could look to hook new players: by basically making sure vets leave...

  8. Yeah, I ended my sub last week as well.

I'm not giving money to this game anymore, there are so many better MMOs that are not sub to play (because this is not F2P) but the story kept me for a while, then this pile of bantha crap of an event showed up...

Every other MMO has events where you do new things for new rewards or recurring events with a couple new rewards to keep them fresh. But this event!!? It screams "we have run out of ideas, just have them play the whole game from scratch, that will keep them going until we pull something out of our @ss for new content.."

  9. ...aaaaaaaand people are making rage threads because they set stupidly high expectations for the big announcement, despite 4 years of experience telling them to expect otherwise lol.

It's still kind of sad that "have no expectations, faith or hope" is the best way to approach anything the devs do to this game thou...

  10. As soon as I heard about the highly reduced price for server transfer I left that dead rock, as long as that stays around they can say: "they can leave PoT5 for cheap, we get some of their CCs and they get to play on a not dead server".

As long as they can get even *some* money out of the bloated carcass of PoT5 it'll stay open.

  11. If you think something is too easy then why not do something about?

    Dismiss companion.

I had a lot of fun soloing a champion at the end of heroic on Corellia today. The one where you have to free 10 prisoners. I had to use everything I had as Commando: stuns, some heals, knockback, Reactive Shield, Adrenaline Rush, the one that shoots me backwards several meters etc.

Hell, back when I still had a guild our ops healer used to yell:

"remove you pants too!" when I was tanking and not taking enough damage to keep him invested, after I had already removed my chest armor :)

  12. and I expect nothing to be handed to me on a platter, I am far more aware of that than anyone in the current generation.

Get of your high horse and learn comprehension before you attack someone

LOL, you don't expect "nothing to be handed to me on a platter" yet here you are on the forums, asking for a challenge you can't be bothered to grab while it's in your grasp...

The irony is strong with this one!

  13. When I refer to challenge, I'm referring to the H2+ Star Fortress and the solo achievement, not planetary heroics. The planetary heroics don't require mad skill, even after the nerf. They require a bit of strategy in regards to pulling groups but that's it.

Which I would agree with, if Eric hadn't said we are supposed to be able to solo SF...

Personally I don't ever plan on doing the Alliance stuff thou.

The problem is not one of difficulty, at least not to me.

It's one of tedium, I've had 8 toons leveled capped since forever seeing all 4 story lines across both factions.

Since 4.0 I had done something I considered impossible, I started up new lvl 1 ones to replay the stories.

Why? Because leveling with sync and "OP" companions was a quick breeze or murder and blood baths, not the slow progression with no chance of dying it was before. To guys like me it was never a question of needing "OP" companions to complete "hard" content, it was about speeding up boring, un-challenging content.

  14. Disagree.

Do not use a companion? No option, they are party of the story and this game is about story isn't it ?

Disable companion abilitys ? No option, players will still get kicked out of group play to get someones companion into play.

Another reason: A companion that is stronger than the character kills the whole story.

Yeah, people are using the "kick someone and replace them with a companion" thing way to often, Hell before 4.0 we would often kick a bad tank and have Khem tank in HM FPs, what a lot of people seem to forget is that since you could gear your comps and get them solid tank gear they were much better tanks then they were in 4.0...

Also, terribly under geared and unusually un-skilled players where getting kicked and replaced by companions since *way* before 4.0

  15. This. Letting others have stronger companions doesn't hurt you in any way.

The only way I can see it hurting them is like this:

"I have no self control! I have access to "OP" companions, I could challenge myself by limiting their power/dismissing them but I can't bring myself to do it! Would someone please do it for me and everyone else! Other like them? Yeah, I don't care..."

  16. I congratulate you on your selfish self nomination to be a majority representative, but expecting someone who is in awful horrible undeserving minority to restrict them-self from having access to content to play a game as it was a freaking month ago is not a call anyone - developer or respectful and wise majority representatives like your self should make.

    Game should be balanced. Period.

I'm sorry, is challenging yourself too much of a... Challenge then? You don't see the irony here?

Also you're calling me selfish when you're asking for game wide changes according to how you want everyone to play while knowing you're the minority...

  17. NO you could not not enough to make it a challenge when you can take 6 elites unbuffed and not drop below 90% for more than 1 second as a dps character then clearly it was a problem

Right, because dismissed companions are known to: "take 6 elites unbuffed and not drop below 90% for more than 1 second as a dps character"

  18. Minority really I have asked opinions in general on harbringer several times on every planet and the minority of oppinions is that they should be changed back

Yes, but Eric asked and is going to change the game based on the forum opinion, meaning it's the only one that counts.

  19. Why should people be forced to block access to content they deserve exactly as you do? Companions is a strong side of SWTOR,now you tell me to remove them because Bioware is playing silly games with balancing?

Btw,less influencing companion post -Kotfe was still a superman.

If some one can't play through story content with companions as they are now they do not know how to play the game at all.

Why? Because you guys are a minority and as such the game should not be changed around your needs?
