  1. I could definitely see Imperial Guard being a class. The story could be slightly like the BH's, but it would be your job to take out the traitors and enemies of the Empire instead of working for your own personal gain.
  2. Whenever I play PvP, the Snipers seem to do pretty well in both offense and defense. More than once, I've been running across the field with the Huttball, almost at the goal, then a Sniper shoots me from like 50 feet away and takes the ball. Or, sometimes I'll be defending a turret on Alderaan solo, and just when I'm about to take down the attacker, here comes the Sniper again. In other words, Snipers dominate in PvP.
  3. I think this is just because of various game previews and real life examples. For instance, the class trailers show the class being played as one gender, and that could affect the gender people choose for their characters. Take the Sith Warrior for example. In its class trailer, it's a male, so it might plant the seed in someone's mind that male Sith Warriors are better just because that's what the trailer shows. But in reality, there is an even gender balance in the class trailers. At least for me, it's all in your head, although some genders may appeal more to certain people depending on their own gender. Hope this was helpful! :)
  4. Who are really the "good guys" in Star Wars? The movies make it out to be the Jedi, but the Jedi have done so much wrong. Plus, not everyone in the Empire is bad.

The way I see it, there is no good or bad. It's just any old war, and each side has two different beliefs. By joining the Empire, this doesn't mean that you're cruel and aggressive. You just believe in the Empire's way of doing things, that militaristic society. Same goes for the Republic. Some people in the Republic enjoy killing for fun, as we see in the companions in Swtor.

So what do you guys think?

  5. Well, I started out going all-out dark on my Bounty Hunter, but then I got Mako as a companion. I don't know why, but I started picking the choices that Mako would like (light-side choices). Maybe I did this because whenever I would walk up to Mako she would be all like, "Hey girl! Let's make some easy credits!" I would just think: "Hm....money sure can bring cyborgs together. I like this kid".

I know, it's weird. But honestly, I had no more fun being Mrs. I'm-gonna-chop-your-head-off Bounty Hunter than Mrs. I'll-just-leave-you-alive-but-stll-turn-you-in-for-credits Bounty Hunter.

All in all, I'd say do what you feel is right, but don't rack up negative affection with your companion. That's what works for me, anyway. :D

  6. pretty much that.

also, if you can find yourself a guild that is newbie friendly, they'd be able to explain things and show you the ropes.

and if you try any group content, like flashpoints, be sure and let them know you are new to the game. they'll be more forgiving then. this thread will help you get started with how to play when in a group. it can be a little confusing at first.

Are there any newbie-friendly guilds you could recommend? I'll probably check some out today
