  1. Jesus its the topic that will never die. I played in beta and release. Like a poster stated before, its all seen through rose colored glasses. The game was insanely broken. Classes were broken, not "hey I don't do as much damage as x class" but "hey most of my skills don't work" broken (terse kasi anyone), and I could name several other classes like that. Roleplayers liked it because it was sandbox, but I think that was more because they had to hide the fact that there was zero content. Content in swg consisted of mission terminals that had you going out and killing a mound of blah blah blah. That's it. Want to talk bad launches? How about not being able to even log onto the game for a solid week or more after launch. It's all nostalgia. The game was awful. The only good thing about it was the space game. People talk about player bounties....I lol. Players 99% of the time just traded their bounties . The game sucked, it was 2003, get over it. Swtor rules BTW.

Jesus is a great topic to discuss. So is SW:TOR, so let's stay on-topic.

A lot of the big MMO's that have came out lately flat out need more things to do than dailies and a PvE group grind.

In-depth crafting and resource gathering, collections, housing, farming, non-combat activities and professions. I think a lot of people want to have more of an impact on the game world and not just 'play through it". Basically keep the themepark stuff of quests and instances and what have you, but make a lot of other activities for people to really get into. It's probably the biggest problem ToR is going to have in the long run.

Problem is, no big money companies are willing to make a game like that. Some indie companies try, but lack the resources to make it polished and widely appealing.

LOTRO has many of the things you're asking for, yet it "failed" to F2P as well...

  3. Technically such a design could move, but it would be really slow, moving one leg at a time shifting weight from one to the other, and there like 90% chance it would fall over.

    I noticed this too.

  4. Many quests and their rewarding titles have been removed from the game. Balmorra is not unique in this. The quest area related to the Taris title has been walled off and removed completely. You can still see the road leading straight into the wall where it used to be.

The Codex is very buggy and not something I would trust as a fact-checker on whether something is in the game or not. I have 3 entries in my codex that aren't even categorized, one of which is "Invalid Entry"...

    Exactly.

  5. So I am a Jedi Knight and dedicated to the light side. About level 11 I ran into a questgiver lady on Coruscant that asked me to steal a diplomatic pouch designated for a senator that was corrupt. I actually believe her story but as a Jedi I could not steal - simply could not bring myself to select that option. This means that there is a solid storyline and I am immersed in my character. Nice job Bioware - but I hated turning her down as I hate political corruption.

I struggled with the decisions in this quest as well.

  6. I played DCU:O. I did not like DCU:O. It was a very sloppy arcade style game with little to no production value. Oh and also:

    1. DC comics are HORRIBLE...Superman? Batman? LAME. The only remotely entertaining DC character was The Flash.

    2. It's Sony...What else needs to be said about that? HORRIBLE. They should stick to making TV's because that's all they are good at.

    3. It's a Sony DC Universe game...That game was destined to fail and it did/is.

Did you just suggest that The Flash was more interesting/entertaining than Batman? Oh dear...

  7. I'm sorry, but pushing, and pushing, and pushing to try and get a video game company to include non-necessary content is a waste of time, both theirs and yours.

It seems to me that trying to validate life choices, whatever they may be, by bringing those choices over into a game world is not, and will never be, high on the list of things for them to accomodate. Sorry, but there are more pressing issues for the developers to address.

In the interest of actually doing things that benefit the *entire* community (and not just the very few), why don't we focus on FPS, new group content, and new weapons/armor as a productive start.

  8. This "MMO" is in-fact an "MMO". Just "because" you "choose" to not interact with "others", does not mean it is not an "MMO".

I suggest that you join a "guild", it really "helps" with finding "friends" and "comrades" to do things with in-game.

    Good "luck"!

  9. Keep saying 'it's too early to tell' ... you'll tell when the water is over your head and this game has sunk.

It's a video game. Whether it fails or not has nothing to do with my life in the long run. I'm simply saying the game is brand new, so give it some time.

  10. Guys there is way to much servers and i think everybody can agree on that.

If enough people on the thread gets SOUR then maybe bioware will think about merging servers what you guys think about server merge?

My friend, I think what you meant to say was "too many servers".

And yes, that may be true, but the game has only been out for one month. In time they may need to remove servers, but for now, it is too early to tell.

  11. They had enough time for that while developing the game.

Game should not be created while running already, game should be finished when its being released which is clearly not the case in here.

I seriously hate ppl with lvl 20 saying game is just fine for them when there is 95% of game still waiting for them. Just dont bother posting, you will do more good that way.

Dude, are you serious? Because I choose to take my time and enjoy the content (one main at level 21, and three alts around 15-19) you're seriously suggesting that my views are invalid?

And to top it off, you shot yourself in the foot when you remind us all that I have a ton of content yet to experience. You're basically admitting that I have a good two months of content to look forward to, while you guys are all "languishing" at level 50.

Your stupid choice to blow through everything in a month was YOUR CHOICE. Now deal with it.

  12. Guys, seriously, the game is brand new. This isn't an Xbox 360 game, this is an MMORPG on PC. Things take time to implement, to improve, and to restructure. I'm sure the developers are working their asses off trying to enhance/repair/etc. as much as they can, as fast as they can.

As for me, the game has been fine. FPS isn't the best (but I can look past this) and I am enjoying my time here.

Oh, and my main is level 21 so far. No problems with content for me.
