  1. I'd just like to remind all you thirsty mfers that Vaylin was clearly shown to have been evil long before Valkorion did a single damn thing to her mind.

Then I would also like to remind you that before the Nahema, it was clearly shown that she was a completely normal carefree child, apart from her powerful connection with the Force. She was impulsive and inept - yes, but evil - no.

Don't stick ya D in crazy.

Is this supposed to stop someone?:D:D:D

  2. He hid his body , probably shortly after it died, or maybe had servants do it as he died. Then probably used some ritual to preserve it. Poor V never got a chance. Unless they rewrite her story, I think the redhead is the only way she'll be back.

Her return in a redhead body is a more optimal and simple option than a rewriting of the entire past expansion.

In addition, i think, devs just can add customization of her appearance - FE / ET variations of the appearance to vendors on Fleet.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

  3. No she has to die, permanently

If you mean that she has to die for absolutely everyonr, then no - I don't think so.:p:p:p

But who knows, she is not that character, who is involved in a conflict between factions and if devs continue to develop her, then maybe this time they will really give us a choice about "kill / not kill".:rolleyes::rolleyes:

    "Exterminate the heretic!"

Their words will not harm us, if this time we succeed and Vaylin joins us, Brother Paul, and then our order will complete our great mission.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

  4. No thank you ... No more Vaylin... PERIOD !

As several have said .. please do not resurrect another one !! UGH !

This is Star Wars - it's time to come to terms with the fact that the resurrection is not something supernatural, if they do not overdo it and do it right. :p:p:p

Yes please, let them fix this mistake when we didn't have any choises and alternative with her in KOTET:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

She was (and apparently still is) focused on herself and her "unlimited power" (her own words). She has made it perfectly clear that she has nothing but contempt for just about everyone ... and she is only concerned for how others see her as "powerful".

You're definitely confusing her with the Emperor here.

In this new story, on the contrary, she showed that she is able to realize who is really her enemy and who is not, which makes it possible to assume that she is able to change, because she is not uniquely evil, unlike T/V/V. About unlimited power - she said it to Valky and she had a reason for it.

It's time for this story to move forward. This should be the final curtain call for her. The rest of the "family" should gradually fade out now.

This family is unlikely to be involved in a vanilla conflict between factions. I hope, devs can make a small development of her new story and we will finally be able to recruit her:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

  5. Well,

if I didn't know about what happened to her in Echoes of Oblivion

I would say that Yes, we should have had a different solution than forcing absolutely all of us killing her:mad::mad::mad: Probably a hasty plot, short implementation time, cutting the plot and budget, a hasty return to the vanilla confrontation between the factions - I think this is the answer to why.:rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

However, based on what we have in this new update, based on the fact that many players, for example, in the discussion on reddit agree in one opinion, having indirect confirmation and given that the developers have not yet refuted it, i can say that

Vaylin has returned to life, in a new body.

And who knows, maybe this is an attempt by the developers to give us the opportunity in the future to recruit her and etc. Who knows what will happen to her now that her new life has begun?:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

I certainly prefer her original appearance FE / ET , but maybe her red-haired appearance is something in between, maybe she will still be given a unique model in the future? In addition, then the developers could simply add 2 customizations to the Fleet to vendors.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I, as a Vaylin fan to some extent, can probably say that all is not lost for us yet, and who knows what will happen next?:rak_02::rak_03::rak_04:

  6. Oh yeah I forgot that took that out. They 'fixed' that when Ossus was released? :(

I did like the HK bonus chapter. I do hope they do more of them in the future. However I think 'cloning' her and putting her on the cartel market would be easier and profitable.

I agree and I still hope that one day they will do it. All this takes time, at least, as minimum. Shae Vizla didn't immediately become a bonus companion either too, right? :rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

  7. I remember what devs said about her, on that stream, in 2018 -

They could do something like a cameo or flashback with Vaylin, in future updates, and then just put her on the terminal as a bonus companion so everyone can recruit her and make their own "headcanon". Or, for example, they could make her as a reward for completing KOTET on the "master" difficult. :rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

  8. the point, which seems to have gone over your head is that you won't get vaylin, you'll get a generic body that looks like her. It's not dramatic, it just simply is, the whole topic is about the love of her, but what you get from a mail in reward is just a carbon copy, someone who just fits a slot, with no story, no future, etc. If that's all you want, then ask for her to be summoned from the terminal, no need for the mail in. Even nico and shae only have a couple of lines, but at least they pop up a little in some cut scenes . Need & love are two different things, people that love her, will want a fleshed out variant, that has substance. Unfortunately, with her being dead, that probably won't happen /shrug

If the only option to return her is a "bonus companion", then we can just play out our own story or fan fiction ( I don't know how its called correctly), in which Vaylin could survive in a certain way.:rak_05::rak_05::rak_05:

As for lifelessness - I don't think that absolutely every character will pop up in cut scenes, even those who just gone, not died, so we can just imagine that she dropped out of the plot for one reason or another, just like some characters, for example - HK55, Koth, Ashara, Jaessa (with a certain choice).:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

And as for concretization - devs have not given absolutely no concrete things about it for almost 4 years, except for a vague mention of a flashback or a spirit, so for starters, a bonus companion could be at least some small compensation, at least for some people it will definitely help. I've seen a lot of messages on various forums about this, so I know what I'm talking about.:rak_04::rak_04::rak_04:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  9. Vaylin might be one of these 'returning characters' in whatever mess we're about to awaken with Satele Shan. So fingers crossed she at least becomes a temporary companion like Darth Marr. Then we can just bail on the chapter with her and keep the companion. :D

No, we can't, because that glitch with pulling Darth Marr out of the Chapter for free gameplay has been fixed and now it can't be done.

Still, the option with a bonus companion might be much easier:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusCoomp

  10. you'd be getting a lifeless body, with no personality, no story. Basically just like the CM comps. She's have one or two combat lines, maybe something when you click on her. But it wouldn't be any good. unfortunately as they killed her off, there is no real meaningful way to bring her back.

The holocron by mail is one of ways, to getting the bonus companions for endgame, and by the way, Vaylin was a personality and she had a story, which makes her "live". Otherwise, there would be no sense in the characters, who were was added to the terminal, on Odessen.

So don't be dramatic and don't need to generalize, because those, who really need to recruit her, even as a bonus companion, will definitely not worry about it.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  11. Just one problem...

They'd have to somehow bring them back from the dead unless they will be force ghosts...

Nope, this is not necessary, since no one resurrects SCORPIO, Torian or Vette, for example, because they are still dead for the current story and chronology, but they can be taken with you for all other game-based non-story quests and etc.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  12. If here speaking about new companions, especially bonus ones, I would like to get:

    - Darth Marr

    - Vaylin

I think it's enough to just drop them on the terminal to avoid causing any errors in the scripts, but there are other ways to get bonus companions without involving them in the plot.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  13. I think the easiest way to get Marr and Vaylin as companions is to use one of the in-game method, without integrating into the current story.

I mean terminal, CM, reward for some event, for example. And if this is done, devs can to specify the highest priority roles for them, starting with the stronger ones:

    Vaylin - DPS (highest priority), Heal ( average priority), Tank (lowest priority);

Darth Marr - Tank (highest priority), DPS (medium priority), Heal (lowest priority).

    #VaylinBonusComp

  14. If it's written well then a resurrection plot is okay in my books. Then again I'm as biased as they come so whatever would work for me :)

I'd make Vaylin an alert mission which would be unlocked once you've completed KOTFE/ET on all modes. (Story, Veteran, Master.)

Yeah, if this is one of the ways to get her - in this case, I would be motivated to pass these extensions at all modes.:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  15. Something about wanting to do it in a meaningful way.

Yes, I remember them saying it back in 2018, but I thought it was something about her appearing in the current story - like a flashback or a spirit. But they didn't say anything about it specifically as a bonus option.:rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  16. Yes, that's the main problem with this option.

Which is why i think simply unlocking her as a companion, either via CM, sub reward or Odessen terminal and letting people who would take her as companion come up with whatever story they want for her to return would be the best way to go.

I agree. It would be great if devs had their say on what they think about the "bonus" option of giving us Vaylin. Can we ever hear it on stream?:rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

  17. On a very personnal level, i'd be really disappointed with something like that as i don't think it makes for a good story.

I'd especially be disapointed that my characters still haven't learned to burn the bodies by now, just to be sure the ennemies they just defeated don't come back.

And i'm a bit tired of dead characters coming back, especially when the ones who are still potentially alive don't have much content.

Something they could do though if they want to go through the trouble of making a bit of story for her, could be a bonus chapter, that could be available on the CM or as a sub reward, that would let people who want her as a companion go through a bit of story to find a way to bring her back, that would be completely optional and have no impact on the overall story for people who think she should stay dead.

And at the end of that bonus chapter, you get to keep her as a permanent companion.

Would something like that seem like a good option ?

Well, If we talk about her returning with the small bonus story, then, I think, Yes, this is definitely a good option, but it is extremely expensive, in terms of resources.

The key point here is that when Vaylin return, she no longer affects the story and does not appear in the story cutscenes, because, in fact, she's already no longer exists.

However, this can be achieved in a simpler way than by creating a bonus Chapter (these methods have already been discussed earlier).:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  18. While I'd love a story. I'd do Clone CM companions (like the Pets and Droids) and then let players who want her as a companion be able to do so through that.

Yeah, it seems to be the best option, I suppose, but what could devs say about it?:rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

    #VaylinBonusComp

  19. Nothing says her spirit is still in our character's mind and didn't leave after Valkorion died.

Then, she's been dead for more than a year, so i'm not sure her body's still in good shape, that is, if it wasn't incinerated, just to be sure she'd not come back (which would kinda be the intelligent thing to do for those who don't want to risk it).

Except that she could, for example, rush back to her body after defeating Valky, but at that time her body could be supported by Thexan so that it doesn't start to rot. After that, he could help her to come to life, even if it would lose a lot of strength and taking advantage of the turmoil, after the battle of Odessen and breaking through the blockade of the Eternal Fleet, you could just escape. But these are only theories.:rak_02::rak_02::rak_02:

I'll say again, i'm completely fine with her being added as a companion, either as a CM or sub reward comp or via the Odessen terminal for players who want her with them, then they can come up with any reason they want for her to be back.

But bringing her back from the dead for everyone, that's a nope from me.

I'd like for the dead to stay dead...

Yes, it would be perfect, especially for those who need her. Heh, by the way, Natasha Loring (Vaylin's voice actress) on Twitter, left a comment that she doesn't mind to return to voice her - this is not a verbatim quote, but it would be cool if devs was given her the opportunity to voice a couple of Vaylin's phrases, exactly as a bonus companion:rak_03::rak_03::rak_03:
