    Shadow tanking question

    found out what shadow wrap does

    I don't have a tank yet, but the first tank I plan to make is a shadow tank.

     

    I'm reading up on a ton of information, as I don't like to do something unless I'm absolutely sure of what I'm doing before I go into even a flashpoint in tank mode, and I come across this:

     

    Shadow Strike – Particle Acceleration. High DPS ability with positional requirement. Talented by Shadow Wrap.

     

    How does this even happen if I'm main tanking? Is there somethng I'm missing? Am I not supposed to use Shadow strike when I am the main tank?

     

     

    EDIT: Found out what shadow wrap does =) so I'm good!

    I think you're Merciless usage was actually pretty good.

     

    You're cauterize still seems low. I had 37 in a 5min period and you were at 31. Maybe I got lucky procs, but that seems like a pretty wide gap. Also, you're APM is pretty low. Do you use ability queuing? I generally sit right around 44apm in Watchmen and your was just below 40, so I think you have quite a bit your leaving on the table there. Aside from that our parses were pretty similar. Your number would have been higher on the ship dummy with armor debuff too.

     

    Well... here's the thing... If i press anything while Master strike is going, it interrupts it so I can't queue that.. That's the only time I don't do anything and that might be why my apm is under 39.

    What is armor debuff? Also.. didn't use an adrenal, but I did have a nano might stim thingy

    Each type of companion - healer, rDPS, mDPS, rTank, mTank - offers a boost to a particular stat when you reach max affection with them. This can be seen in your legacy tab. For instance, as a Jedi Knight once you get max affection with Scrouge you will get +1% Accuracy. Rusk gives you +1% crit chance. Kira gives +1% Surge. These three will increase your DPS. FYI, the other two companions will boost your endurance and increase healing received so you should max them out as well. Please not, Treek, your ship droid and HK-51 do not offer these boosts. Also, this is legacy wide and the boosts do not stack.

    I'd try parsing on an Ops dummy, since that's a better representation of your dps than Golden Fury. Golden Fury is awful for Watchman, because you take breaks every 20-30 seconds or so.

     

    Also, I personally don't use Blade Storm, ever, in my Watchman rotation, since you gain 0 buffs to it, and it has 0 utility in the Watchman tree.

     

    Hey, thanks for the tips! The only reason why i used bladestorm here is because of the breaks. I'll fire one off before heading back to the top of the stairs... But Macedonicus (emporor-norton) also gave me this advice of not using blade storm.

     

     

    well.. how do you have under 100% accuracy and only 67% surge, is this with companion affection buffs? do you have alacrity or tank stats on your gear somewhere.. get rid of that for a start.

     

    Also that fight is still a bit of a dps check in 8m. At the time of its launch it was up there with styrak hm for biggest dps check.. (obviously not now but.. ye..) Theres a reason most run it in 16 man.. Its faceroll and puggable.

     

    I'm having a hard time optimizing, ESPECIALLY with crap oriconian gears...

    And honestly, I'm not even in full 78's. I don't think I will optimize until I get to dread forged gears!

    BUT, if any sentinel could help me on The Harbinger server to optimize my gear for what I have currently, I'd appreciate it!

    You know, I never bothered with my companions... What is a companion buff? I'll end up googling it probably....

    Hey guys...

    So I'm new to parsing but I'm not new to my class. I've read and re-read rotations and tried to do different things here and there.

     

    I'm a sentinel watchman and I was wondering what in the hell I'm doing wrong.

    That fight is from TC HM 8 man last week. Only 930 dps.... needless to say I'm disappointed.

     

    I'm in 72's and 78's... and 2 piece ark armoring for bonus...

    my stats:

    STR: 2655

    End: 2936

    Primary: 1340-1567

    Sec: 319-458

    BOnus: 825.0

    Acc: 99.94

    crit: 21.76

    crit mult: 67.45

     

    Isn't that enough for HM TC gearwise? My rotation could be a LITTLE bit better, but I hardly think a PRECISE PERFECT TIMING rotation will net me 500+ dps or so....

     

    EDIT:

    This is the correct parse from the fight and I am doing considerably more than 900... I'm at about 1764
