  1. You can click and hold the mouse buttons (left and right, one button at a time) and move the mouse to

    • turn your character to get the desired light/shade on their face and body

    • change the camera position in 3D space including the vertical position of the camera wrt the character

You can zoom using the mouse wheel to change the camera distance to the character

Press Alt-Z to hide the user interface and take a screenshot; edit/crop in Paint, Paint.net or other image editing program.

Here's a nice article on Taking Screenshots with a lot of tips, example screenshots, and so on.

  2. Aren't both servers based the same in Austin, TX (BioWare hq) though? So like, *ping* is the same no matter what? i forget , so please correct me if i'm wrong , np

The OP didn't ask about ping and so I didn't talk about it or about server physical location. You're right about both of those things, as far as I know.

The SS player population is more from US Central to US Pacific time zones where as the Star Forge server has more of the US Eastern time zone players.

  3. Xeno, Nightmare Pilgrim, Colossal Monolith, etc. are not like other world bosses. The chances of PUGs succeeding are much lower than the Nar Shaddaa WB R4-GL for example. Many people tackle them with guild groups coordinating through Discord voice channels.

The subscriber vs F2P part of the OP is a distraction. The game needs to make money after all.

  4. Satele Shan is the west coast server; larger percentage of players play in "prime time" for west coast. Star Forge is the east coast server. So, the player population you see depends on when you play. That has an impact on how often group finder queues "pop."

Star Forge is THE server for Role Playing even if there are RP guilds on SS.

  5. This looks like another thread started by somebody looking to highlight to BW that Conquest is too easy and should be nerfed even further (third or fourth time in the past year).

Answer to OP: Do what you plan to do on your characters; story if they've not finished it, FPs that they didn't run, Eternal Championship, Star Fortresses (my favorite), Planetary Bonus Series, Event missions (Relics of the Gree is on now), even Galactic Seasons missions. Conquest will happen by itself in an hour to an hour and a half per character without you even noticing it.

I will echo above comment about 150% Stronghold bonus and add that being in a guild that always invades a planet will help with an additional 15% bonus.

  6. For the benefit of the guild, I find this slightly weird, since having the member switch to a different (in-the-guild) character gives just as many points, but, if the other character meets the 100K points (not really hard), the guild-member gets more for-the-guild objects from the guild-linked Conquest rewards.

A few guilds do this CQ contribution calculation on a per-legacy basis while most go by per-character basis. Doing it on a per-legacy basis requires some guild officer to sit down to type out and add numbers manually for each legacy in the guild as the guild management tools are primitive. This is a labor-intensive that cannot be automated. So guild generally choose per-character basis.

There have many good suggestions over the years on QoL improvements for guild creation and management. Option to view guild conquest leaderboard by legacy instead of by character was previously suggested as well.

  7. How far behind am I, if I'm only at level 44 as of now? What would I have to do in terms of points or catching up to get to level 100 before it ends?

If you log into the server 4 times a week, do the daily 25K Conquest objective, do one 12-point weekly and two 8-point weeklies, you'll easily gain the remaining levels before the end date.

  8. Still if you look at merc/sage parses on the heavily stacked up fights ..

I'm curious as to what average #s you are seeing for the three healing Disciplines. That's literally true: I'm just curious. Not trying to make a point or anything.

  9. No clue if you're referring to (or have read) my posts but for me it's not about being "ecstatic" ( cuz i'm def. NOT lol ) .... Rather it's more so about trying to give them (BioWare) some positive reinforcement, in the hopes that Devs like 'KappaChris' might actually come back to these FORUMS again on a regular basis to provide better/more info.

And yes i realize i'm probably being naive with such a hope, but i also believe the best way to truly send an angry message to BioWare is through wallet$ .

Forums, on the other hand, should be about an on-going conversation. imo

Fair enough, interesting point of view.

  10. But overall, the message I am getting from this post is:

"There are a few bugs and/or unexpected issues that are nerfing you guys more than we intended, but make no mistake; we definitely intended this new level sync to nerf you. We want our old content to be harder and take you longer to complete! But don't worry, we have lots of vague but awesome plans to improve the level sync experience just enough to call it fixed while still keeping most of the nerfs. Isn't that exciting?" (

I didn't open this thread and the "Changes to rewards for PvP, GSF, and Operations" thread the last few days as I didn't think I was ready to read more of this stuff; just burnt out. So, just getting back to it today.

The above is EXACTLY what I got from that post as well. Can't say I'm surprised, it's what I expect now from Bioware. Still, disappointing.

I don't understand the praise in the other posts for writing one lousy - both in content and style - post. It is about the least, the very least, a game developer can do and some people are ecstatic about it.

  11. It seems obvious to me that the developers don't want us to go for 1.3s GCD as we all (*) did before 7.0; the additional stat outlay for the approximately 8% DPS increase is offset by loss due to reduction of Critical Chance and Multiplier. Given the tertiary stat budget, it seems to me like the 286 augmented 330 Rakata gear will ideally go for 110% Accuracy and 1.4s GCD for DPS Disciplines.

Telekinetics/Lightning characters can go for 1.3s GCD IF their guild reliably picks Zeal Set Bonus.

    (*) No, I don't mean that literally.

  12. What is the advantage, now, of doing the Datacrons to have an advantage over those to whom have not done them?

Getting the datacrons - at least some of them - is fun. Beyond that, they are most useful to round out the stats for characters that do Operations regularly, especially VM+ Operations. Not much use in regular solo PvE.

  13. Let's make something clear here: something taking longer does not mean that it's more challenging. That's kind of the whole problem; it takes longer, but it's not more engaging so it's just a bit of a mindless grind.

The Eternal Championship isn't hard either, but it's at least an interesting level of engaging as it is currently balanced. That said, I don't want the entire game to be that way. That would also be boring.

There should be a healthy mix of interesting endgame content and trivial older content available.

QFT. Good points, very well made.

  14. Not sure what you mean by 'overall' stats. Basically, the green gear has more Endurance (health) and less of the other stats. It may be more suitable for tanks - I don't know (and don't care 😅 )

Green 320 Conquest Gear for DPS - Has more Endurance and less Mastery compared to Tank gear

Green 320 Conquest Gear for Tanks - Has more Mastery and less Endurance compared to DPS gear

Green 320 Conquest Gear for Healers - Has more Endurance and less Mastery compared to Tank gear

Bioware's punishment system for the undeserving players who don't do the Elite MM Operations.

  15. Hardmode Flashpoints to gear my alts and then, I guess nothing lol.

I will just play more pvp, which is something i did a lot of back in 3.0.

You can PvP your way to 326 purple Thyrsian gear which is better than the blue 326 gear from MMFPs. The PvP gear maxes out at 105% Accuracy which is alright if you don't plan to do Ops. So, if you do a lot of PvP, no need to do FPs for gearing.

  16. I was disappointed to see this in this post:

2.) I like the idea of harder content dropping better gear. MM Ops should *definitely* have more rewards (other than bragging rights) over VM Ops, and VM should have better drops than SM Ops.

I do VM and MM Operations in 7.0 and and have done in previous expansions. Had 306 BiS augmented gear on dozens of characters. Now have mix-and-match 330 Rakata BiS augmented gear for multiple Disciplines and role types including 110% Accuracy where required. But I'm not your stereotypical "NiM Raider," probably.

I disagree with above quoted statement.

I liked 6.x gearing since all players could get the best possible gear the game had to offer doing whatever they wanted to do (more or less.) It was the best gearing scheme the game ever had even if there was a lot of scope for improving it. In 7.0 BW made it worse instead. It was a pleasure to run into well-geared players all over the place. All players saw gearing improvement over time. The more they played - whatever be the content - the better their gear got and the easier the content got. Gearing advice was limited to "Put anything on if it has a Green Up Arrow on it till you reach 306" and it felt nice providing advice like that. Players did not need spreadsheets, flowcharts, diagrams, tables, and so on to understand gearing.

What we now have is elitist, and frustrating. Retrograde in general.
