  1. Make the longer FP's, who do have more than 3 bosses, drop loot from all of them not just selected 3. Especially The False Emperor comes to mind, with the bridge boss who drops nothing of note.

At least then longer time is compensated by more loot.

I for one needs variation in my FP's, with a ratio of 2-3 HS I need another one in between

  2. The OP is from 2 weeks ago, lol.

It's already been mentioned that the FPs people complain about getting all the time also happen to be the only ones that can pop for low levels (HS, ATHIS, KDY etc). If queue pops and there is a level 15/16 in your group, you're getting HS or KDY.

Also, about 8 times out of 10, those low level players are bad. Like, really bad. The worst noobs I've seen in decades of gaming. So, your run is probably going to suck. And if it's going to suck, I'd rather it be a short FP like HS and not a longer one (with less loot) like KDY.

Now, I don't mind carrying people a bit, most of my characters are maxed out. Although, it's funny when I'm carrying higher levels on my 42 Knight. But, explaining to newbies about LOS or, ya know, their CLASS HEALTH REGEN (seriously?) doesn't do any damn good if they don't read chat. Sorry, guess I needed to vent. I'm done now.

You're absolutely right, and I did not see that since it was on front page. Sorry about that

  3. Yes, it is true that these schematics drop in older daily areas (Black Hole and Section X), but the chance of getting them to drop is so low that it is not practical to attempt to get them through these areas (i.e. seek them this way and you will be very disappointed). You got VERY lucky :D

I managed to get both endurance one and critical one in 2 runs in black hole over 2 days on the same toon during the "bug". Mostly want Hawkeye one though, never sees that on GTN either though. Does it exist as schemathic?

Edit: Stupid me didn't check the link provided in post above me :)

  4. Hey I dabble in a bunch of things but it's been an utter bust for me. I'm not into chain-grinding story chapters or Fractured. I'm also not into letting RNG decide what I'll do today and I do my darndest to ignore that crap DvL feature they shoved in our faces. I absolutely do NOT reward EA by buying boosts from the CM -or- the GTN.

Worse, I like to play on a variety of characters. I'm down to playing three but even that's feeling cramped. Playing on anything other then my main makes me feel dirty because I'm keeping her from improving her gear. Somebody else said it best: I'm not playing the game, I'm playing the system and I hate it.

Based on research performed on WoW's population metrics single focus people are rare. As for luck, I've had spectacularly good luck: Two MK-3 usable proc relics, mainhaind, offhand, and 5 of 6 set pieces all before GCR70. I used my UC's to purchase #6. Which left me 20 levels away from getting any upgrades.

Where my luck has be outstanding I know 7 or 8 people who have gotten two or three set pieces. I'm one of the last people in my group to have gotten to tier2 and some are already in tier3. At least two of them have had a string of repeats.

My awesome luck means absolutely nothing because the rest of my group isn't making the gear check. The system is complete garbage designed by somebody that hasn't the first clue how the gearing process works in an MMO. A top-flight IP deserves better than the rank amateurs they have directing design.

I do agree with you that GC isn't a good ay to get gear alone, but I don't see why if the old system gets reinstated it would have to go away. I would be an awesome supplement to the old system. Allthough long time since doing any ops, I do believe rolling on a few pieces was RNG as well. As i understand it however this was changed later?

If you chaingrind something you don't like, that is your own choice. Even if it is the most efficient way, it is still your choice to do so, can't blame the system that allows it, while that system allows you to NOT do that as well. You should maximaize your FUN playing the game. If that is chaingrinding chapters, or chaingrinding ops/fp/wz/uprisings or whatever, do so, if varied do so. It is not like if GSF is giving extra cxp other activities give nothing. Can still vary. Not optimal no, but if chaingrinding is boring, then don't do it, simple as that.

I do also agree with you that GC is veeery alt-unfriendly. As I said i have 49 toons. I feel like I have to play my main. As many others do I imagine. Or the alts that can inherit gear from my main.

I don't know how rare single focus people are, but it usually seems to split up in 2 main groups, pve and pvp. I enjoy both sides of that coin. Removal of pvp-stat was very helpful for me. Reinstating the old system doesn't take how easy it was to get pvp-gear into account. Should people get gear as fast in pvp as before, when it takes way longer in ops?

And you seem to think I disagree with you that RNG is bad. I don't. I don't like RNG-gearing at all. Didn't like the battlemasterbags when the game launched either. Didn't like to roll for pieces in ops either as I could go several weeks without getting any gearpiece then. But having RNG supplement the main system i don't see the harm with. I just believe there is a room for both the old token system AND gc, that is all. Just because one likes the other one better than this, doesn't exclude them from existing together.

  5. GC is good for people like me, who enjoy most or all aspects of playing, be it pvp, GSF, ops, FP, Uprising, heroics, etc etc. I can now get gear, by doing varied activities. Also, removing expertise from pvp-gear, was for me a good move, so I don't have to switch gear all the time.

However. GC is not good for people who only enjoy ops. Or only pvp. Or does those things more hardcore than I do. Rng is rng no matter how one put it, and ofc someone with a lot of luck in that RNG will feel better towards it. Doesn't change the fact that gear should be dealt out randomly, and only randomly.

I have supported this game since its release, played continually. Have 49 chars, most of them at 70. I will continue to play the game. BUT, galactic command was supposed to make gearing easier. Now it is more confusing than ever. So why not reinstate the old system, with gc as an "extra" to spice it up. As long as pve-gear and pvp-gear doesn't get seperated again, i'm all for having old system back (probably couldn't earn pvp-gear as fast as before but still)

But I don't want GC gone.

  6. I don't mind GC in itself, what I do wish was that some of the randomness was removed from it. Like giving out a guaranteed token or something so if unlucky you can choose after a while at least.

Just don't have it completely RNG like now

  7. Why do people leave out the latter part of the genre off this game? It's not just an mmo, it's an mmoRPG. And rpg is often storyheavy.

While I do agree they focus too much on one thing at a time, and leave other areas dry when they have the "focus" on something, Story is a big part of Swtor, always has been, always will be. To me, it would be nice with a more of everything-approach. The reason I play mmoRPG's is for everything they can offer. Not just small bits. If I was to only play pvp, I would play dedicated pvp-games like battlefront. If I only wanted story, I would play singleplayer rpg etc etc. The appeal to me is the choice in doing everything, but at the cost of mmo's simply reaching basically over too much, so none of the parts is as good as the focused games.

And what counts as "massivly" enough? if Swtor isn't massivly enough then there are a few mmorpg's out there that are. Wow being one ofc. But if Swtor is under the limit, where does the limit go? everything less than Wow? Right over Swtor? How many players does it have to be massivly online multiplayer?

  8. Wrong, did you not read what the poster said above you? In the stream Musco thought it was going to be the 29th for early access then was corrected by someone off camera and then stated it would be when the expansion was released for all, not early access, on the 2nd.

Thought it was the DvL stuff he talked about like the companion? Makes sense if all the rewards are on the same day for both DvL and subscriber rewards though

  9. I have done it a while ago. It really just fell in place for me. I'm an altoholic, so I will always have maximum number of toons, so no stress with those, I'm also a crafter, since I work nightshifts were I can actually play at work. I do stuff like that while watching series or something.

So whats left of the mundane stuff? The world bosses I was lucky to get a full group quickly that did them all in one swoop. The ops were a bit harder to get done, and the hm flashpoints I got all done through group finder. Was lucky with the groups on Blood hunt and Lost Island though.

So to me it was not much work. Actually, I was looking at the criterias in the start and thought no way. But when most of them clicked in place naturally I went for it.

So now I can claim I truly has no life :D

  10. Thank you for the answers the only one I still question about is Story/Veteran/Master because command crates cannot be the only way to get gear. If so leveling would suck if you have a level 1 and you have to get to 70 before you can start earning CXP to get crates on that character. I would hope and from my understanding they wont change rewards missions give you but rather than getting XP you will get CXP after hitting 70. Regular rewards I would hope to stay the same but this is definitely something I would love to hear more about.

I do not believe its account wide for this reason. if you hit max 300 on one character that is light side but your dark side character is only 150 because you haven't done as much dark side work they wouldn't want all your characters to get the light side XP when they are not light side characters.

Command crates is how you get gear from the moment you hit level 70. Galactic Command doesn't come in to play for your toon before that. So you get gear from quests before that if you are not level 70. And it is not account NOR legacy-wide. It is for each toon.

To me it wouldn't make sense to have geargrind legacywide. It isn't now so. But a boost like they talked about if you have grinded out one toon to the next toon, like they talked about in stream, that would be nice.

  11. My guess would be there will be new ones, old still usable for that tier of recipes it gets used for today, and probably alot of the same ways to get it. Except from crystals since they will be removed.

Don't know if one can get in the command crates?

Those are just my guesses though, not facts

  12. It's not a fleshed out idea in any way, but a silly idea i've had in the recent days, but here goes.

    Voss Mystic and Voss Commando.

The way i have thought this far, is that this need the Voss species to be playable, since this would be one-species classes. A new starterzone would have to be made, wich would be on Voss, and the story for these classes would deal with how and why they leave Voss.

Could also add context to that this is the main reason Voss gets "rediscovered" in the first place, because of these individuals that leaves Voss, due to a vision or something.

It would also, based on your actions on the starter zone guide you to the republic fleet or the imperial fleet. Or you choose that when ready to leave or something. (so yes, double set of class stories would have to be made, This isn't realistic I know, but new classes at all aren't either so :p)

As I said, just a rough idea in my head.

  13. In a fictional universe full of space mages and other fantastical things, i think we can stomach a little "Rule of Cool". And while some diehard lorefans might not find it cool, my bet is that the masses will. Both the flaming effect and the crossguard that is. My bet is that Disney/J.J will do a good job with the Star Wars Franchise, as Disney have done with their Marvel Franchise.

And to be honest, it was about time someone took over for Lucas. He will always be a hero in my world for making the fantastic universe Star Wars is, but somewhere along he lost his way with too much CGI, and dialogues that were even stranger and more odd than in the original trilogy. (yeah the dialogues weren't that great in the old ones either in my opinion).

Top that with making Vader a creepy whiney arrogant kid with a rapey look (in ep. 2) and i'm glad he handed it over to someone new. Star Wars basically grew too big beyond his vision i i believe.

  14. That changed quite a while ago, about 2(or 1 and half) years ago i believe, several month after SOE decided that eq2 players will no longer have to buy expansions as long as they are subscriber, they would lose access to expansion content and toon if the sub drop.

ANd yeah i am hoping that pricing will be like last time too but you know the last "expansion" did not have "milkman"(revan) this one will have "milkman" as main attraction, thus my question.

Ah didn't knew that. A while since i subbed in Lotro. So if I understand correctly, if i go there and sub for a month, I will get full access to the expansions for that month? Last expansion i bought there was Rise of Isengard

  15. What i wanna know is that now you guys have brought back "milkman"(Revan) how much will he be milking us for? Meaning : what will be the price of 3.0 "expansion"? Of course other freemium games like DDO/lotro/dcuo/eq2 give subscribers full access to all of their expansion(lose access as soon as sub run out though) but you guys are not like that, so how about giving the price upfront so that i can decide if it is worth sticking around for.

I can only speak for Lotro, but there subscribers still have to buy the expansion to get the expansion. The area the expansion is in however i believe is open if it was that you meant. Not sure about the epic quests (story questline) if they must have the expansion as well, or the "ordinary" quests.

Anyways, if it indeed is a "Makebstyle" expansion, i would expect it to be priced accordingly. 10 $ for subs preorder and 20 $ for premium and f2p if i remember correctly,
