  1. So this is an interesting problem...

Logged on earlier today, tried to do some solo ranked wz's, didn't pop in an hour, logged off. Account was fine.

Just tried logging in several hours later, to see on the main screen that I am now a preferred player and have to active my characters or subscribe. I have been subscribed for about a year, month to month using a credit card. In fact, checking my bank account, I was billed today, and looking on the swtor.com website, I have 28 days remaining of subscription.

    Slightly disconcerting.

Is this real life? I tried calling customer service, but its 10:50pm est, so obviously no one is manning the phones.

    Nice.

  2. Just got a new computer a week ago, here it is:

Previously used a non-gaming laptop (integrated graphics card) and while the game worked, it was...less than optimal. <1 FPS in warzones during intense combat, 16 man ops the same. Every setting on as low as possible.

This one is a little more than $1k, it came to about $1,150 with shipping, but it is absolutely unbelievable. Now my previous expectations were low, since I was used to the bare minimum, and now SWTOR is like watching a movie. Everything maxed, playing on a 26" tv, over 100 FPS while doing random stuff, fluctuations of 60ish during warzones and 16 man ops, the only bit of lag I get is when I speeder around the fleet by the GTN section, and that is only for a millisecond. Before I would speeder to the GTN section and could go make a sandwich before my character was usable.

Basically, enjoy the upgrade. Never realized how much fun it is messing with your characters look too, since before I couldn't actually see the details.

  3. One of my gripes with the game is that being in a guild is not much more than having a separate chat channel and guild bank.

There is no common meeting place for people to just 'hang out.' In MMO's you don't need to be actively doing missions all the time. Having a guild star ship would provide a common place to meet with just your guild, creating a medium between your personal ship and the fleet. I know at level 55, many people, myself included, spend a great amount of time hanging around the fleet in between ops, wz's, etc.

I would much rather sit on a guild ship with all my guildmates goofing around then on the fleet. If they had pvp and pve mission terminals, gtn, guild bank, and mailbox, you would still need to venture to the fleet to do certain things, so the fleet wouldn't become obsolete.

This would provide more culture for guilds, rather than the little that there is currently.

Not even going to go into how awesome cities were in SWG, if your guild was well developed, you know.

  4. You think the Republic is afraid of the Empire? You are unaware.

Knights of the Republic, this is a call to arms. No such outpost raid will occur if we stand together and FIGHT!

Strap up and reload, for they are coming. But we will not fall. We will not surrender!

I look forward to seeing you on the battlefield Master Klintrin. And even more so pissing on your dead corpse.

    /salute
