I don't buy the "this is the EU" argument. On Tython there is a side quest about two Jedi padawins. Letting their love remain a secret is a dark side choice. Exposing them is a light side choice. Clearly in this game a Jedi in love is not allowed and is a dark side decision.

Nearly 27,000 views on this thread and still no comment from Bioware about the issue. A simple acknowledgement that they are aware of the issue is all I am looking for. A "We're looking into it" or "We are aware and will address in a future patch".

Regardless of everything, its still a bug that the codex says he can use vibroswords when he in fact cannot use them... would it take that much effort to fix?

I have found this: Just give him gear you find and not worry about his stats

 

Been working just fine for me. Gotten some sweet gear for him through quests. Of course if you skip a ton of quests then you will not get any for him.

 

Thanks for the suggestion Tynis. I think people are coming here because they are looking to get him gear from commendations or other sources to upgrade him more quickly. The gear I am getting for him from quests is many levels below him right now.

And as I said, stats do different things for different classes.

 

If you press C, then select Qyzen. Hover the mouse over Aim and it will mention melee and tech.

 

Your wrong Ardwan. Using STR gear improves his stats just as much as AIM gear does. Either the companion is not working as designed or they need to update the help for him such as the codex and the hover over his stats.

All they need to do is just add -1- orange, fully moddable techblade at a lowish level (Taris or lower) and things would be alright, not fine, because thats still only one choice, but at least with a fully moddable you would always have the chance to keep one fully updated to your level.

 

And fix the codex so it does not say that he uses vibroswords...
