Honestly, it depends on how you plan to play. If you group up or do a lot of ranked, get full tank gear with the 2 vindicator armorings. This is because in group play your job is to guard, disrupt, taunt, and CC and depend on your group for dps.
However, if you solo queue regs a lot, you're better off speccing full Vengeance and switch to tank stance if you want to guard. It's not as tanky as full tank or hybrid, but it does the job well enough in regs while maintaining a lot of damage. If you're careful with focus management you can still pull 1k+ dps in tank stance. To gear for this, wear a shield and a couple tank implants wirh a fortitude stim. Don't drop under 70 percent surge with this setup. Full vindicator set bonus.
I do a lot of ranked PvP so I guess the 2 vindicator pieces are better. Once you explained it I finally understood why people use both set bonus. Cheers

I have a guardian and scoundrel fully geared for ranked PvP and am starting to gear a juggernaut tank. I have a spec for PvP that I'm happy with but what I'm unsure of is gearing. I have looked at deltias gaming and although his gear set up certainly looks good I have also seen people use a 2 piece of the vindicator set and the rest war leader in order to get the two set bonus.
What I guess I'm asking is what do you feel is better, going for war leader or getting a couple of vindicator pieces to get both set bonuses. Please do leave a Mr robot gear set up if you can. Thanks all

Fully support this. Any greens I vendor and any blues I occasionally sell on gtn or just vendor them again. For my charqcters I just end up buying some cm adaptive gear and switching mods out. If I could unlock greens to make them actually useful that would be great

I would love to have a huttball league instead of arenas. Gunslingers could finally be useful in ranked with their turret style gameplay. Would be real nice to have ranked matches that could allow any class to be useful.

Can't believe the first hypercrate I buy was this pack. What a load of ****. Well I can promise I won't be buying another hypercrate and probably another pack again. I will just wait for the gtn if I really want something that isn't another reskin. I'm usually very happy with the game but this a bloody joke.

I think a good way to do this is like a portal system. Whenever you use a dropship to travel to the fleet you get a one time use pass that sends you back to the location you were at.

As im sure pretty much everyone knows new class stories are not going to happen or if they do a long time in the future, but they have confirmed before that new advanced classes are more than possible. so I wanted to leave my suggestions for new advanced classes.
Jedi Knight
In the book revan there is a particular scene in which revan is battling some madalorians. During this fight he is wielding a lightsaber in one hand and a blaster pistol in the other. it's would add a nice mix into the Jedi knight class as it could give them some more range abilities whilst keeping some of there melee attacks. kind of like a vanguard.
Trooper
For this class I feel having a advanced class that wields a electrostaff would give them a interesting mix. this would make them a all melee class instead of their vanguard counterpart which is a mixture of ranged and melee. of course a problem with this is a lot of their trooper neutral attacks are ranged but again this would be a cool idea.
Consular
I feel a new advanced class for this class would not need a new weapon but a change of abilities, becoming a mastermind class. to explain this instead of having a sage with their telekinetic attacks or shadow with their up close attacks have the player able to spawn friendly npcs to fight with the ability to have them defend or charge etc. this is already done in some sense with the bombers in GSF and if this was brought into ground game it could mix up a lot of pvp matches and pve ops.
Smuggler
I dont know what advanced class could work with this class.
bounty Hunter
I feel giving this class the ability to use a blaster rifle could add some interesting looks. i never truly understood why powertechs decided to use a blaster pistol as a tank but this could give those who really wanted that look a way to do so. as far as abilities go im unsure as to how they could mix these up as it is another ranged advanced class. maybe instead of blaster rifles give the new advanced class an electrostaff like the trooper suggestion.
Imperial Agent
Giving this class the ability to summon probes and drones similar to the mastermind style of the consular suggestion would again give this class some more variety. and instead of a blaster rile or sniper rifle give the class a blaster pistol.
Sith Warrior
same as the Jedi knight class just with different animations
Sith Inquisitor
Same as the Consular class but with different animations again
i know I have rambled on a bit but this is what i want to be brought into the game. chances are these would be sold via cartel market but who knows maybe they will give them with expansion packs. please remember this is years away no doubt but I would love to hear what everyone else thinks of these and any advanced classes you would want to see.

I think a better implementation of this would be to have it drop from the new tactical flashpoints that are coming. it gives people a reason to run them multiple times to earn these armor sets unlike the recent Korriban and Tython flashpoints that most only run once and then forget about. It would save them time and money creating new armor sets as well

Totally agree. Also to add onto that when you complete a story as a race you should get their social ability made available to all your other characters in your legacy

This sounds really unique. Good job coming up with it. I could see myself really getting into this.

I do approve of you attempting to seek help in your struggles. Off_My_Newts makes some great points. But there is also a lot of stuff you can do outside of the arena to help performance. For most players that I see in the lower end of the rating, it is an issue of not knowing their class or other classes. You MUST know your class in and out.Join a pvp guild with voice chat and play regular warzones with them. Even if the guild is bad, it gives you a place to bounce ideas off of. Find other good guardians and respectfully ask them to duel you. Take note of what they do and how they beat you. Duel other classes to get a feel of other classes abilities, strengths, and weaknesses.
Ask yourself these questions - If I died, what abilities could I have used to get out of the situation or live longer? Were my damaging attacks being mitigated, and if so should I change my rotation to be more effective? Was I getting full mileage of my defensive cooldowns? Do an after actio analysis every time you die and ask yourself these questions.
Get geared and use the right gear optimization. Is your gear fully augmented? Are you using medpacks and adrenals? Are you using main stat and power or stacking alacrity. Just one of these things could be the difference between success and death.
I am considering taking my PvP toon out of my current guild which is a social guild and finding a PvP guild. the idea to duel the other high ranking guardians on my server is a really clever idea and one that I did not think of. Thankyou for replying. The more constructive input I can get the better. I'm determined Not to give up on this

If your rating drops below 1000, do everyone a favor and stop queuing.I started this thread to find out how to improve so unless you have something constructive to say don't bother. There are plenty of other threads for that.

Vigilance is a very strong dps spec right now, combining great lockdown and decent survivability with very sustainable damage output. If it has one weakness, it is the fact that its burst is not very strong. One thing to remember about playing a guardian is that your class is inherently a support class. You have very strong support skills in your taunts, force push, guardian leap, and your awe. Using these abilities correctly is always the difference between regular and great guardian players. If you find yourself force jumping into the middle of the melee and getting focused down quickly, then it is time to rethink your strategy. The best thing you can do is fight to keep your healer and your teammates alive. Always be mindful of their position and use your support skills to keep them going. They will love you for it because very few ranked players understand this concept. Damage is only a small part of what you bring to the table.
Lastly, you are only 1/4 of your team. Even if you are perfect, bad players can and will bring you down. Try not to sweat a string of losses, it happens. Especially in solo queue. And don't worry about people yelling at you or anything like that. They are usually just trying to cover up their own poor play.
Yeah I've been using taunts and awe but you have made me realise I do tend to leap into battle a lot. Might try supporting my team more like you suggested and less hurling myself in as i am finding my damage, although constant, without the enemy healer being cc'd they can usually heal them through the damage. Another thing I would like to ask is how do you decide what enemies to target first? I know certain classes tend to be focused first but are there any signs you tend to look for before deciding on a strategy? Thank you for answering these questions. Figured it was a good idea to find out if I could change anything instead of doing the same thing if it was wrong and continue to lose

Arena Help
in PvP
So I started ranked arenas only recently and today was the first time I did some arenas during a season. Let's just say it didn't go well at all. What I'm wondering is if my rating goes below 1000 is it possible to bring it back up to 1500 or is it unlikely. Also if anyone has any tips for me on how to do better that would very much appreciated. I'm a DPS guardian in mostly brutalizer and yes I always use might stims. Thanks all -
I would love:
1) Nexu (I need one for my marauder!)
2) Walkers (My trooper would rock this)
3) Multi seat mounts (With capital ships coming I t would be cool to meet up on our capital ship and then a few of us jump on one speeder to go to our next ops)
4) jet pack style mounts
There are others but I can't think of them atm. loving the fact your looking for idea for mounts from the community. keep up the great work

Just when I started to get slightly bored of the current content you release this all I can say is Bioware you have outdone yourself. I can't wait to give my trooper a apartment of coruscant where he can relax after a tough mission. And guild ships just blew my mind. Thank you so much bioware. I think I'll be keeping my sub going for a long time. Keep up the amazing work

Never happening mate. Can you imagine what would happen to the market if you could do crew skills from your phone. There would be a huge influx of items and it would destroy the market.

Found something that suited the rest of the gear better. Couldn't for the life of me find a set I liked this mask with before:

That looks awesome. the gold parts on the armour really create the impression of a inquisitor who enjoys a luxurious lifestyle but is also deadly. could you tell me what armour pieces that is made of please? might have to use it (with a added dye maybe )

Unfortunately you are right. I joined a group for a terror from beyond run yesterday to find a bunch of lvl 50 players claiming to be tanks and healers with 19-17k health roughly (can't remember the exact numbers) and even a couple of lvl 48s. lets just say any lvl 55 who joined that group left rather quickly. I enjoy doing KDY to level alts but seriously more and more new players are appearing who don't know what gear to use or what their roles mean because of stuff like KDY and sometimes star fighter. don't get me wrong they are both great fun but when players are reaching lvl 55 in lvl 10 gear and no knowledge at all of their class it hurts both end game and the experience over all. I'm just glad the new Tython/Korriban flashpoint is lvl 55 only.

110% agree. I'm currently gearing my toon for the new nightmare mode ops coming out and its rather boring sitting around on the fleet when I could be doing dailies and earning some cash.
