  1. I love lamp.

    LOUD NOISES!!!!

Anyway...I like this expansion too. And I think people are being far too critical. It's okay to offer feedback, but it gets to be so much whining about so many minor things. In a game played by so many, from all walks of life, you can't keep everyone happy.

    IT. IS. A. GAME. :D

  2. Can we get a Scorpio customization in a pack or something? This is like the only companion that launched with no extra customizations available to vanilla game. Scorpio has ZERO, some companions get like 8. I know that you guys would never add one for free, so at least when you make a companion customization put it in a pack or something.

Agreed. At the very least a rationalization from BW would be nice...instead we get silence. How do companies just not understand how working with the MMO community works? Ridiculous.

  3. Both!

When I started I thought there was NO WAY I would EVER play an Imp.

For over a year I just stuck with Pubs...wow was I missing out. I decided to try a couple Imp classes and now, they are my favorite classes to play.

While I agree with the overall ethos of the Republic, playing Imps is too much fun! The way Jedi have been written they are so boring in SWTOR...but the imps have personality and range...especially playing light side choices.

Don't just stick to one side, play em both and thank me later.

  4. I have rated both story and personality of character. Not enough people really talk about the voice work and dialog selections, but it is a factor. Some are complete some in progress, nut all are level 20+:

Sage (Consular), finished: Story 4, Character 3

Mercenary (Bounty Hunter), finished: Story 7, Character 8

    Sentinel (Knight), in-progress: Story 6, Character 5

    Operative (Agent), in-progress: Story 9, Character 7

    Commando (Trooper), in-progress: Story 8, Character 8

    Warrior (Juggernaut), in-progress: Story 8, Character 8

    Inquisitor (Sorcerer), in-progress; Story 6, Character 6

I think it is important to note, at least in my own experience, that your character have some kind of back story. While it is great that there is a narrative and unique story line for each class, I found that I got *MUCH MORE* out of developing a persona for each character.

By this I mean what is the motivation? What is their look? Their race? Their type of armor style. What kind of mount suits them best? This accomplishes a couple things, it gives your character depth, and it gives them framework to stay within.

If you are an altoholic like me, having character backgrounds gives each a unique flavor.

    Hope this helps. ;)

  5. For standard questing while leveling a merc until I get blizz and swap to heal spec, which spec would be ideal for me to play in? Using mako, then either torian or mako, then blizz (which i'll be heals then).

I am only level 44, but I don't believe you have to go heals unless you want to be that for grouping purposes. You and Blizz can both be DPS and clear mobs MUCH faster working together.

  6. I realize this gets brought up a lot, but I'm looking for the most current take on this one. lvl 24 bounty hunter that I haven't played since the skill trees reset, which spec is best for leveling, Arsenal or Pyro?

cxten gave you some excellent advice. For me, more simply, and from a lvl 44 perspective, I tested both DPS builds and found that Arsenal was more fun, but Pyro was more consistent with damage, both aoe and single target.

  7. Thanks for a good laugh. No offense but it's hard to feel otherwise over the fact you messed up and choose to blame the game or CS instead.

I guess that being accountable is expecting too much.

BW needs to be accountable too. If a user makes an honest mistake then BW needs to show excellent customer service and fix the issue and educate the player. This is what Apple does all the time. And I read happy stories from happy customers how Apple resolves so many issues by simply showing excellent customer service. This is [artially what drives Apple sales and retains customer.

Unfortunately, customers like yourself, are why companies like BW don't address these issues in a more positive way. They take advantage of the people that just roll over.

We are the customers. We aren't always right, and we aren't entitled to have BW cater to our every whim. However I don't feel the OP was making an unreasonable request. And he is a paid subscriber. And instead of coming to the forums with a story of how BW made it right and possibly retained him for several more months because of excellent customer service; he instead came in here with a complaint that makes me question my own sub from a company that treats its customers like that.

  8. Against all odds, I prefer fries! I'll certainly pass on that a vast majority of people seem to like the zoomed out view. No promises, but I'll make sure they know.

Sign me up as loving the new perspective. I was hoping it was a bug only in the sense BW was rolling it put in the near future. I have always hated how zoomed in the intro is. We have great armor and great ships...I want to see more of it! :)

  9. I have HK-51 on my healer sage at 55, and my 29 sorc is using him, also in heal spec. I have yet to test it in lightning spec--but my sorc is tearing things up since HK kills so damned fast and can take a punch. HK is just a nice option to have...I like Khem enough...but hate almost all the other sorc companions...HK offers you just that...variation. Plus he can be a decent crafter if you decide to shelve him.
  10. Having been playing Sith Sorcerer for a while I've suddenly grown a dislike to it, not because of my character but because of the Empire itself, they are practically evil and even if I'm light aligned. It's more or less my personal preference to be with the side that's more in the line of being good.

At first I was thinking of simply changing to the counterpart class of Jedi Sage but the issue is the lightsaber you have is useless after level 10, what is the point of being a Jedi if you don't use the signature weapon?

I could change to Commando but being a gun type class wasn't what I had in my, being a force user and lightsabers are what really makes Star Wars what it is so either I suck it up to the issue and just play Sage or go with Commando with the big bangs?

I've been exactly where you were before. Except I started with a Sage, loved it at first, but grew tired of it for the very reason you aren't enthralled with the idea of switching to one: the stat stick!

So I went and tried a few other Republic classes and some where okay, but a bit lackluster. Then I went to the dark side...and for the same reason you hate Imperials, I did too. Then I tried what some have suggested here...try bounty hunter. Range, heals, and you can play light side and tell the Imps to f*** offf...that is great fun.

Lo and behold...I got over my hatred of Imps because their classes, voice acting and stories were a lot more fun. I just play them all light side....usually. lol

Okay, so onto your solution. That's a tough one. You say that swinging a lightsaber is the quintessential image for a character in Star Wars; I agree to a certain degree. I'm sure many fans of Boba Fett or Han Solo would beg to differ. But you said you don't like to melee, but that's how a lightsaber is used by and large.

So where does that leave you? Well there is kind of an easy decision tree for you with where you also have to prioritize your wants. It's tough but you have to make exceptions. I have been down this path, many, many, many times.

Melee or Range? Do you want to heal?

    - If melee, go Guardian. Great Jedi feel and you can DPS or Tank. Leaping around is great. Sentinel is an interesting choice I'm experimenting with now. They are solely DPS, but they offer great group utility in the form of group heal buff, speed, cc, a couple others.

    - If range, Commando is great because of the heals and utility--but I find that class boring...it's like playing a character from StarCraft or Halo in the SW universe. Scoundrel is great fun for people, but despite him crusing around with two guns...one pistol one shotgun, he's basically a melee character.

So prioritize and go down the tree.

  11. Thanks for the replies. I already have field respec and that's cool..but SWTOR's implementation of it sucks. If it were more like Rift, where the toolbars change with the saved spec, that would make things far easier.

Anyway--heal spec has been fun but probably won't work if I'm trying to solo FPs...speaking of which--what is worth doing solo at 55?

  12. Hey all,

Just wondering what your thoughts are on how to spec at 55. I truly enjoy healing, but I want to be able to solo content and have fun when groups aren't available. TK has been awesome as a leveling spec but I feel like I am letting groups down with my weak and slow heals.

    Any feedback is much appreciated.

  13. Well it depends on a few factors....do you prefer to tank or dps? Do you plan to group or solo? Do you have an affinity for a specific companion?

But if you just want to dig into the game, vengeance spec is highly recommended. There is a thread on the first page that links to a video build showing the spec and a suggested rotation...start there and you should be having fun in no time.
