  1. Guild: The Jedi's Creed

    Guildmaster: Shayarr'e 2nd Guildmaster: Rimshak

    Link: http://jediscreedguild.enjin.com/home

Officers: Ratamahatta Iimowerii Therdall Sparkii Bostonlowe Miguely Baneoflife Seraphine

    Faction: Republic

Focus (PvE/PvP/RP): heavy PVE / OPS with moderate PVP and some RP

Tidbit: we are a guild originally from the gav daragon server we help each other, play together

as much as possible, and we have fun doing it

  2. Vendor in crafting section on fleet sells one mass manipulator generator for 350 elite commendations plus 20 exotic element equalizers

That really makes no logical sense to cost that much

For the price of 350 elite commendations you could buy at the most 3 elite gears from vendor.

Why would you pay that many comms just to craft 1?

  3. My opinion on that would depend on what content you were doing, for example if you were doing low level flashpoints then I agree they should of given you time to get some experience with your healing role and learn your abilities.

But if you were doing high level content or hard modes and you queued as a healer without knowing your role/abilities then I'd say the kick served you right. You can't expect to jump into harder content and heal without even knowing what cell you're supposed to be using, I'm guessing you probably weren't specced as a healer either.

I was just coming off the double weekend xp, creating a healer for my guild as they are low on healers

I just made my first attempt at level 20 in a fp. i did practise solo with my first companion, doing a few normal missions on coruscant, reading up a bit before heading into my first fp

I did read up, but thing is i guess i learn more from doing than from reading, and honestly i did practise

In my view it would have helped if they had not gone after two mobs, everything was going fine until that point

Its not like this was a level 55 hardmode fp

I had an easier time as dps. I can see why its so hard to find a healer in queues now

  4. I'm a healer and the best advice I can offer you is to solo heroic 2+ and heroic 4 content with a tank companion. You will learn the value of good crowd control along with basic healing fundamentals like managing your resources and reacting to spike damage. Just be sure that you and your companion are decently geared for the heroic missions you plan on doing (being a bit over-leveled for the content will help too).

As for dealing with people in groups... welcome to the internetz! No serious, some are better than others and if you pug then you need to be thick skinned and roll with the punches. The best flashpoints are the ones where the tank can't hold the aggro of multiple enemies... or even a single enemy.

Im going to do exactly that now :) Did it with a few mobs solo just running normal missions but ill try it with heroics, thanks :)

  5. Or just run around with your companion and mess around. It's pretty simply really, you shoot friendly targets heals with hammer shot which add 3 stacks of supercharge, in addition to using medical probe which adds 6 stacks.

It's a good idea to use advanced medical probe before you use medical probe so you get the cell cost discount. Then just weave in some hammer shots between casts to reduce your cell consumption. And don't forget to use kolto bomb when you activate your supercharge cells. The 5% damage reduction from the shield isn't much but it's still nice to have up.

It may take a few hardmodes to get the feel for your healer but if you're reading up on your class and trying your best, you will get there. :D

Thanks for the helpful advice. i copied and pasted this to remember

  6. Welcome to the world of MMOs, a wonderful land filled with new adventures and abilities to learn. Wait, ain't nobody got time for dat!

No seriously it really depends on the people in the group. A few people might be kind enough to let you learn and figure things out for yourself. Most however would rather kick you and find someone who already knows what they're doing. I'm certainly not saying I condone such actions but still, I tend to expect the worst from people.

As for the matter of learning how to play your healer or getting a better feel for it. Have you tried looking at websites with detailed information on your abilities, talents, rotations / priorities and (or) just running around with your companion or on fleet doing mock healing sims?

Yeah, i read up on this site about which skill tree points to go towards, about rotation, some things about it were fuzzy, one thing i didnt understand was the key element of how combat support cell was attached to Hammer shot. Now i know. Perhaps I need to watch some video tutorials on youtube before engaging in another fp

  7. Told the group immediately that it was my first time as healer and to please have patience in case it didnt go smoothly. One player said thats fine. So anyway, im concentrating on healing the tank mostly. Everything goes smoothly until one of the group decides attacking one mob at a time isnt enough and goes off towards another direction attacking another. So next thing you know, the entire group goes down fast.

Tank explains one thing to me i wasnt aware of in regards to healing, which was the combat support cell. So i quickly figured that out and was testing it out before engaging in another mob when as quickly as she had explained it to me, she then voted to have me kicked, her reason? That i had downs

She then goes on to tell me that she had explained the combat support cell to me in her own words "Like 10 times" Unless my counting is fuzzy, she only told me once

Is it too much to ask for consideration and patience in a game?

I know its silly to say this, but it left me a little rattled. Why cant people just be thoughtful? Patient? Co-operative?

  8. As you know from reading this forum, some people on this forum are rude to posters. Why because they get away with it. Now would they do that in front of your face, not likely because they'd probably get punched so they sit behind their computers where no one knows who they are and say whatever the H they want. EA/BW doesn't read the forums often so they don't care.

    Yeah thats unfortunately too true

  9. Booo Hooooo I demand my cookie... Give me the cookie!! Waaaaaaaaa......

Unbelievable... It's MAINTENANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAINTENANCE!!!!!! They are fixing things... You seriously going to complain that they are fixing the game?

Seriously, I shouldn't even feed the troll, but this is a bit much...

Not everyone gets to spend all day online bringing in a welfare check, some of us work shifts then have other responsibilities at home and when 2 hours of what spare time you do have is spent waiting for this crap it kinda sucks.

  10. 1: early access started yesterday, did it really take that long to download? Because it only took an hour for me on my lame ADSL.

2: early access that you "paid" for? You paid the same amount of money that the rest of us did... you just paid early enough to get early access.

3: you still get four whole days of early access, quit whining.

4: but of course you are right. They should have held off with the bugfixing so you could play the bugged version for those few hours you have to wait now.

I never said i started downloading yesterday

2 I never said i paid more than anyone else, nor did i say i was more deserving than anyone else. im aware i paid early enough to get early access

3 I paid for it, therefore i have the right to voice my complaint seeing as i did not get said product on day it was advertised to be available

4 why couldnt they beta test it before or advertise for beta test it to those who paid early access instead of advertising access then doing maintenance on said date?

  11. Don't be so insensitive, the OP's issue is clearly an emergency!

Never said it was an emergency

But i paid for something before the cut off date specifically so I could play the early access. Now that it should be available, i cant play it at all

You should get what you paid for as advertised.

Im sure if you paid for something and didnt get WHAT you paid for you wouldn't be happy either

  12. At the moment I'm having Game Client issues I'm working on resolving on my end, not a Customer Service problem. Anyway, as a result I haven't downloaded patch 2.0. I found that Main Assets was roughly 2-3 GB, could anybody give me the English Assets and Game Client size? Can't seem to find them anywhere...

Having the same problem, upon downloading main assets it said network issues....waited for ages nothing happened, leading me to have to download it all over again

  13. Has to go. let me start by saying am a founder/returnee.

I can agree that a dc'd toon needs be gone but as a returnee that remembers little after 6 or 7 months, being vote-kicked for taking a wrong turn or falling behind, idk, I think isnt what was intended

Sure speed is a factor but is an mmo so if cant spend time to go and get laggers or other new ppl, then I have a book for you, is called "Time Management and Why Yer Mom Didnt Like You That much" ok is a working title.

Fact is, ppl drop out and ppl drop back in and not all remember each step or path.

To be Honest, I'd carry anybody that was new to tier or just game, because I know I might be gone for next month or three.

This game aint dying and doomsayers from launch seem to be same doomsayers at present, if not on Bioware payroll, should ****.

Point of this rand is that certain things in game are devisive while others tend to unite.

Expertise outside of warzones is devisive, vote-kicks for trying to remember are devisive.

expertise for any reason is just, idk, fail. Can do better by granting woowoo armor for number of kills, idk, dont pvp and dont much care.

But since is 1st post, Id like to congratulate Bioware on a job well done.

yeah, there are some bugs but guessing many people be pissed if fixed now that have learned to compensate, lol.

Anyway, my wandering rant is done, ty.

No offense intended, but i feel a bit lost in your post

Could you narrow it down to be more concise

  14. well shame on you for not calling him out on it then. Your choice not to throw a "hissy fit" but really isnt that because you would much rather need for comps yourself?

You can keep doing what you want. But if you are on my server and I come across you, I'll be sure to put you on /ignore and out you on fleet general as a ninja. And I bet that many of the others you group will do the same.

    so... happy solo playing!;)

So you would vilify me because you have an opinion that I do not agree with?

Nice, hope treating other people with such indignity and callous retaliation works out for you in life
