  1. After the stream I did this: http://imgur.com/a/GI6Iq

    I'm a casual who plays 1~2 hours a day and only pvp, used to do Raid progression from 2.0 and stopped around 3.1.

    Always said to people "I play Swtor because I hate grind and RNG", now Swtor has turned in the 2 things I hate most.

    I'll NOT wait months and months for you to "maybe reduce" costs and make grind less painful.

    Bolster is working as intended? Too bad because the pre-5.1 bolster was the only thing motivating me to play, where gear didn't matter in pvp, now i'm getting destroyed on my 228/230 by 240/242 players, who have time to farm and grind (KP farm etc..).

    I'm done after 5 years and i'm giving my stuff to some guildies.

    Yeah because playing the game to achieve something is so 2005 and this is 2017...!

  2. A little quote for you whinys...

    Access progression

    Icecrown Citadel will be split into four sections for release, in the following order: The Lower Spire (the first four bosses), the Plagueworks (the next three), the Crimson Hall (the next two), and Frostwing Halls (the last three). There will be a period of some weeks after the opening of the first section before going on into the second. The Lich King may not be fought until Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana'thel and Sindragosa are dead. Any heroic modes may not be attempted until the Lich King has been defeated on normal mode, and you cannot face the Lich King on heroic mode during that week's lockout unless you defeat Putricide, Lana'thel and Sindragosa on heroic mode.

    In addition, there will be limited attempts on the four most difficult encounters - Putricide, Lana'thel, Sindragosa, and the Lich King - similar to the Argent Crusade Tribute Chest for Trial of the Grand Crusader (with the difference of there being no reward for completing the instance before the attempts run out). This symbolizes the support (in the form of troops and material) provided by the Ashen Verdict. The number of available attempts will increase in increments as the raid sections open; when the second section (with Putricide) opens, players will have five attempts; the third (Lana'thel) will boost that to ten, and the final (Sindragosa/Lich King) will boost it to a total of fifteen. The number will increase further in the weeks after all twelve encounters are open, indicating the growing strength of the Ashen Verdict. Once all of the attempts run out, these four bosses will despawn for the week.

    The number of attempts is now only limited in heroic, as Daelo stated in the forums.

    The first wing of the Citadel, Lower Spire was opened with content patch 3.3.0 on December 8, 2009.

    The second wing of the Citadel, the Plagueworks, was opened on US servers on January 5, 2010.

    The third wing, the Crimson Hall, was opened two weeks later, on January 19.

    The fourth wing, the Frostwing Halls and Frozen Throne, was opened with content patch 3.3.2 on February 2, 2010.

    ...considered one of the best raids in WoW ever.

    If Blizzard does it no one bets an eye but if Bioware (11 Devs or so remaining) does the same everyone loses their minds...

  3. I guess my first question would be "Which community?" since there's more than one represented, even on the forums.

    If they listen to the Hardcore Raiders, then the PvPers, the Casuals and the RPers would all be left out.

    If they listen to the "Hardcore" Pvpers, then everyone else is left out. Isn't this the usual line of thought when people point at "listening to the Story players"? Trying to do something that's a bit "all inclusive" is backfiring like a old Toyota pickup with the points a half degree out of line. Isn't that why this thread exists?

    So I'd say the reason to not listen to "the community" is the same here as it is in every other MMO I've played: They'd spend so much time trying to figure out how to make sure that nobody but x group gets something w/out losing a, b, y, and z that they'd never get anything done. You can move those example letters around to represent any group you want, but frankly, it won't change anything: Nobody wants the same things, and trying to get something coherent that will actually work is nigh on impossible.

    CCP does this since when? 2010? Seems to work fine.

    And of course I'am not saying that they should ask a raider about rated PvP...duh!

    Really? Haven't you been railing along with others about the new gearing system that's been announced? What else has popped up along with RNG? That anyone can get the BiS gear, right? I realize that's been lost in the shuffle of "ZOMG, it's going to take forever to get xxxx", but it's in the mix too.

    Did i mention GC with a single word? I think not. To be honest, i don't care about gear or raiding anymore.

  4. Probably what I'm about to do is a waste of time but I think I'll do it anyway, because why the f**k not? Thinking about it since i saw the first..."rumors" about KotET...

    What do you could possibly lose by working with your community?

    I'm aware of that rat tail that is behind creating/maintainig a game ect. and also that pretty much everyone here has different imaginations on how and what. But if you take a look around, take your time to search a bit... I'll bet you find in your own community a bunch of people which would be happy to help you make SW:ToR better for everyone.

    For example: Just look at http://torf.mmo-fashion.com/prolific-posters/

    So many people making costumes 10/100/1000 times better than 90% of the stuff you gave us the last almost 5 years!

    If you want, you can even strait of copy/paste from my own profile! http://torf.mmo-fashion.com/cainite-t3-m4-3/

    *cough*self-promotion*cough*

    Same goes also for things like balance (class and PvE mechanics). I played SW:ToR only two years (2012-2013 and again since KotFE release) and my 6 years on WoW don't count because different game. But, they say it at least, there are still many founders and day one people around that know your game and your mechanics better than you.

    Would it hurt you that bad to ask them for help...? T a l k to them...?

    Next thing is the story... For a self proclaimed "storydriven online RPG" - your story is since Eternal Throne/The Valkorions (4.0) isn't that good! (my personal exeptions are chapters 3,12 & 14)

    It is just too fanfiction-esk with too much "left prpaganda" in it... - again: my opinion.

    My 8 year old son can come up with better stuff.

    At the risk of repeating myself: Ask your community what they want and mix that then with your own ideas/conceptions.

    Ask, not just wait and hope that some day there will be THE IDEA from someone...

    Don't know, you pay someone as "Community Manager"... He'll probably has lots the time to do surveys on stuff you have planed instead of implementing them and getting a ever greater s**tstorm almost every time you do.

    Just say'n...

    ~~~
    I know, I've already have 4 hits on my fingers for beeing a bit troll-ish from time to time or stepping on some snowflakes toe...
    But seeing that my guilds population has dropped from 30-35 (mostly 3 years+ vets) active subscription players going down to 5-7 in 3 months...
    ...is that really what you want?
    Don't know what to say any futher...
    It would be nice to see some yellow post here that this has been noticed... But to be honest: I don't expect it anymore...
    I know, my english s*cks...
  5. How do you know its written to be that way? I mean, i did it with a female human Inquisitor and a male chiss Imperial Agent so far, and it seemed just fine to me.
    I havent done it with the Knight yet (hell, i havent even played the Knight 1-50 story yet), so i cant say for sure though. But i just ask bc i already saw this statement before, im curious if there's something in the story which clearly indicates it should be that way.
    What you saw was maybe another of my comments, i wrote that several times.
    Why i (think i) know?
    I played KotFE sofar with all classes exept agent and soldier. First sign is that pretty much from the start the story is much better suited for a force user. I also fiddled alot around with different conversation options and datamined the**** out of KotFE.
    Next thing is that KotFE
    and KotET
    is heavily focused around Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion/whateverothername and his disfunctional family.
    He is also the "final boss" of the jedi knights classic story line. For that reason everything he says about our charakter in the KotFE Story is much more suited for a knight than any other class, which has only to with him on Yavin 4 and Ziost...exept the warriors chapter 3 story but there it is more "The Hand" than himself.
    And for a biased reason: I'm writing myself and if i would write a story for a knight, i would do it in a similar way.
  6. The story of KotFE is written for a male human jedi knight with Lana as the "canon" romance. Just like for example ME2 (to an extrend) and ME3 are written for a female Shepard with Liara as "canon" romance.
    So there went much less work in the other "romance storys" and i bet that for KotET it is the same.
    For the "classic" chapter 1 ot 3 class storys... Well... Remember the *****torm Bioware got for the Liara romance in ME1? So they went the safe route and back then the game was aimed for 12 year olds...
  7. Hey folks,
    As you may know from previous posts on the topic, when it comes to credit sellers we will often do a large takedown at one time. This allows us to have the largest impact on the credit sellers without them being able to react. Today was one of those instances.
    With today's maintenance we acted on a few different initiatives to help curb the in-game chat and mail spam of credit sellers. Some examples of what was done today include:
    • Banning of thousands of credit selling accounts.
    • Closing a loophole in an existing promotion, that allowed credit sellers to quickly and easily make accounts which could send you in-game mail and access the fleet.
    • Made adjustments to some existing automated functions to better catch credit sellers.
    • And more... (we don't want to reveal everything we are doing to the credit sellers :rak_03:)
    Keep in mind that when it comes to catching credit sellers, as we make adjustments, so do they. It is a constant game of cat and mouse, but it is one that we will continue to focus on aggressively. For this reason, it is important that you continue to always report these spammers and credit sellers as you see them. I know sometimes it seems like we aren't taking action, but I promise that your reports are critical in our ability to find and take action against credit sellers.
    Eric, 4 letters that solve the credit seller cancer: HWID
    Hit them where it hurts: the purse!
  8. In your dreams, this server is nearly dead compared to TRE.
    Fanboi much?
    http://www.torstatus.net/the-red-eclipse/history/7d#!/the-red-eclipse/week/30d
    http://www.torstatus.net/t3-m4/24h/7d#!/t3-m4/week/30d
    Could say german actually work than complain about BREXIT but it may be as simple as that on T3 only germans, swiss (the german part) and austrians play and on TRE every other country besides the 3 mentioned and france in europe + russia + "all other" that doesn't play on the US Servers... But only maybe :)
  9. server:
    what is your plan with the dead servers? will there be free transfers,
    cross-servers or a merge of them? keep a look at the EU!
    operations:
    i don't want a fixed date, but if we don't get a new operation with the
    release of 5.0, you need to give us a rough time-schedule, when we
    can expect how many new operations. the level-raise of old ones is
    no new content. this point is very important for many players. at the
    moment the most people i know, played swtor, are just waiting for
    that information, to decide to come back, or not.
    pvp:
    what are the plans for the pvp-part (battlegrounds, arena, gsf)
    serverstability:
    is there a light at the tunnel, please not the train,
    that we get a better stabilty, especially for some
    open world pvp? now the server will be very laggy,
    if we are more than 8vs8. unplayable.
    forums:
    will the french and german forums get back a
    french- and german-speaking community manager?
    it is really hard to see you ignoring us. .
    Server:
    Nothing. Just wait till only 3-5 player still there then unplug 'em.
    Operations:
    They can't even balance the stuff that is already here and you want new stuff?
    Player v.s. Player:
    What? You just got them sweet S7 rewards...?!
    Serverstability:
    That ain't the server/serverfarm thats the crappy 16 year old alpha version of the hero engine.
    Forums:
    Good one...
  10. Yes i get that this is massive change. But Knights of the Fallen Empire showed that Bioware is willing to change things a lot to improve the game. Now we have great focus on story, we just need improved combat. Instead of pressing 1, 2, 3, 4... i would prefer to actually control my lightsaber like in Jedi Knight series. More and more MMOs are adopting combat system that is more and more advanced - why not go ahead and start the work on adding Jedi Knight styled combat system?
    Way i see this:
    -old Republic has great story, but old (which is not automatically bad) combat system where you are just pressing buttons and hotkeys instead of actually moving your lightsaber or aiming your weapon. Instead of pressing number X to throw my lightsaber to do X damage to target that i selected, why can`t i do what i did in Jedi Knight and hold down right mouse button, aim the lightsaber as it moves trough air so that it hits as many enemies as possible.
    For classes that use guns, you just need to look at every shooter game there is.
    -Jedi Knight no longer has story (i mean it no longer has anything new added to it as newest game is well over 15 years old), but it has awesome combat system.
    Both of these games have something to attract players. Why can`t we have both? It takes very long time to add, but would be huge attraction to new and old players alike. There are always hard core fans who think current system is better, but looking at huge popularity of fighting games and shooters that don´t even have a story, you can bet well made advanced combat system would be huge attraction even if players don´t care about story or MMO aspect. And of course most would still play this for it`s story aspect.
    Nice troll, 7/10
