  1. I have decided to invest some time into crafting. currently I have a 400 sythweaving and 400 biochem. I was thinking of crafting high end armor mods and switching to cybertech to do this. However, reading through all this stuff on the internet has just frustrated me.

The net says there are craftable (example here) might armor 28 or might armoring 26. it also says you can learn these schematics from the trainer. I doubt this. Can you loot something, take it apart, and then learn a schematic for this?

I just do not want to waste time and money. I have tried to find solid answers but have left myself more confused..

can a cybertech or any profession craft any armoring mods over level 49 ( IE. might armoring 22) ? and if so, could you tell me how, where to find them?

(just some background on me, I pvp only - the true game is really lost to me)

  2. I am a sent. 1000 resolve. I have been noticing over the last few weeks that i have spent 90% of my pvp time either slowed, stunned, rooted, or thrown. I have decided to pay attention to this. First, I can be rooted 3 times with my current resolve..in a row. Next, when I am slowed, it NEVER increases my resolve. I am not sure if that is how it is suppose to work. After I am rooted (this causes the largest increase in my resolve) it takes about 3 seconds for my resolve bar to go down - not all the way down, but it does go down significantly.

I am not an expert, just getting frustrated. I dont know if the game has changed with a patch. But I have never had to deal with a resolve issue like this.

also, if it is working as intended..my bad.

  3. Could you give a date for the server transfers and the server pvp que?

I do not want to pay for a game that is unplayable (on my server due to population, pvp and pve).

I will come back, I like the game, But I am thinking of playing another MMO right now becuase I am maxed on dailies and sitting around fleet trying to get a que to pop, or someone who wants to PVE is a waste. I have even done all of the professions.

also *4 lvl 50s. I do not want to go through the quests anymore.

So, just a solid time frame would really help me decide what to do next. thanks.

  4. I am so tired of arrogant Marauder players saying you "should roll one, because it requires so much more skill than class XYZ", for the love of...

Get over your superiority complex and maybe roll a damn other class yourself and then try to beat a skilled mara in actual PvP, then try not to be irritated when you face teams with 3-4 mara's who can hold out on a point basically forever as you try to peel their layers of defense.

For the record, your class doesn't even have the most "buttons to press", assassins have more for example. And buttons to press in your rotation doesn't even begin to equal skill.

Seeing the numbers of players who actually rolled Mara's and are now swarming warzones with them, your argument of "roll one yourself" is just incredibly hollow when faced with people who actually didn't go for FOTM.

i have a 50 BM sage, a 50 BM BH, and my sentinal. I have played extensively on my brother in laws shadow and operative.

the only class that comes close to being difficult in operative.

sadly, the only reason i still play this game is becuase i found sentinel to actually be a slight challenge. that is quickly fading.

  5. The class is just fine.

you cannot faceroll these classes, if you think so..roll one. i bet you quit and go back to a 3 button sage.

The class is finally balanced, kiters...you need to kite. you can no longer stand there tabbing targets when you see us begin to hit you.

Master strike...situational....i only use it against those who just stand there and refuse to move..kinda funny when they see thier health go to about half with a master stike/merciless combo... (this is really why i think we have been seeing so much QQ on the forums about sents. This combo is deadly to the average joe who just stands there)

finally, i am not a god a pvp, i get my butt kicked plenty. but when i face those who refuse to play the class they rolled..the way it was meant to be played. i win..

so, in recap, you can no longer use your light armor healer spec as a tank or dps. Use your class as it was meant to be played. The truth is, if you meet a sentinel on the battlefield, sometimes he just has the advantage, and if you play your class correctly, you will too.

  6. most of the pics you have seen, were pre-1.1 or what ever the update was were lvl 50's got there own pvp que. A sentinal, or better, and Sage dps specced could just tab targets that had zero expertise, zero skills, and zero clue. hence..900k dps.
  7. so no response from BW? WHy do these big companies crap on customers? Your not "king"! you spite us we leave and you never get us back. one by one might not seem so bad to you, but say that 6 months from now when you have no population.

you should listen to your player base. Other companies have failed...read up on them.

ultimately, the players have the last say.

  8. Funny thing is, I don't have to use my snare nearly as often as people would think. Sorc/Sages just stand there anyway. Sorc/sages who actually kite are considered exceptional PVPers lol.

I have said this since launch. If you are a caster, and a melee leaps on you, your first, and I mean first instinct needs to be to kite/run/create distance. If you stand there you will die.

this is a great post, and the above statement is 100%..

Sentinel has been a tough class to play since launch, the changes made things MORE balanced..and now that casters cannot just sit in one spot tabbing targets, they complain.

once more..learn to play your class..dont complain your class is not what you expected.

  9. That first part just baffles me. Have they been absent from MMOs the past 10 years? PVP is a huge part of MMOs.

Merges should & have to be the #1 thing on the to-do list. It will help alot towards keeping subs.

I agree. how could they have NOT known??

  10. Bioware, hurry up or you will lose us all, believe me we are as fickle as the next. PvP needs updated, cross server ques needed now, server pop is destroying the urge to play the game. Take this great shell you have, listen to your player base, and make things happen.

if not...i guess i will just be a fickle as the last guy. (good advertising gets me everytime...)

  11. i never thought id say this but the bags system at least was fun to get gear ( oh how i was looking forward to 1.2) but its pretty bland to grind out the ranked comms and get dailys rewards of 99

pvp is ALL i do and still hoping they get this together by late summer fall

currently on a server that imperials dominate and its pretty depressing to see the queue times increase so much longer now just to have alot if losses against premade healer that have healers groups

there was some excitement, but going through 15+ bags with nothing...kills your spirit

  12. I saw nothing but pleasant surprise and praise from the PvP community for the OPvP that occurred indirectly during the Rakghoul Plague. Keep in mind that the Rakghoul event wasn't intended by the Devs to spark OPvP. The Devs seemed to be as surprised as anyone that fun OPvP happened. lol

More events like Rakghoul are not only encouraged, but needed. I don't think there is a PvPer in SWTOR that would dispute that. Good times: http://bit.ly/Lk5LUN

damn i missed this one (RL stuff) that looks just awesome

  13. I love world pvp but name a game that has done world pvp well in the last 10 years please? BW focus on cross server q's and get them in within the next month or lose many many many more players. Even pver'rs like to pvp sometimes.

    Fix it now!

I think SWG did it right in the beginning. i had a blast.

  14. I want a Star Wars AV that forces us to mow down 50 to 100 storm troopers on our way to summon a Walker. While doing this I want to have pvp against the other side. I like large skill pvp but War Zones are always more fun because it's not a guild zerg fest.

HAHA, now that would be pretty cool

  15. here's my thoughts on the PvP front.

what games are successful "PvP driven" games? CoD, BF3, WoW (WG+wz's), etc.

create games, matches, maps, objectives based on the success of these games. capture the flag, defusing bombs, objectives, etc. i guess it would be called...content?

    more that click and defend.

how bout some imperial and repub bases set up in "enemy territory" that when destroyed offer comms/stims as rewards. each class needs to play a part. (i.e. SWG base busting) smugg needs to break the lock, jc moves some boulders blocking a tunnel, trooper accesses the override commands, jk disables the tractor beam (EP3...GDI this is SW's!! use the content they have provided!!)

    check this one out...

Nar Shadda Casino. open world, NEUTRAL spot that people can go to trade wares, talk smack, play sabaac, meet the opposing side, gamble, dueling rings (that gurlan dude STILL has 2 fingers (kotor)...and that just doesn't sit right w/ me), etc.

all of these activites will reward social comms. used to buy orange gear, weaps...UNIQUE (and not effing ridiculously ugly crap) looking gear that people will enjoy wearing...(um...CRIMSON MANDO ARMOR?!! that's why i didn't play my BH at launch..i was pissed it was left out of the game...)

it's pretty easy, in my mind.

you give people stuff to do, a place to do it, and the ability to do it safely, or dangerously if they so choose (pvp servers), and GOOD, VALUABLE rewards for doing it.

this game needs PvP content...i just gave it to you.

think outside the box, yet keep what has a proven track record at the forefront.

-more WZ's with multiple game modes (ctf, tdm, objective based, plant/defuse, destroy walkers, etc.)

-community and socialization!! i have a few arch enemies...only cus i know they are good pvp'rs.

-fun, useful, GOOD LOOKING social/pvp gear

-stop nerfs/over balancing...pre 1.2 was pretty dang good, tbh.

    -CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT

if people have nothing to do, nothing to work for, or the same crap everyday, they will quit.

    ^^^^

THIS IS A GREAT IDEA. i loved being able to talk with my enemies, duel, etc.

  16. Mr OP, they HAD open world PVP. It was called Ilum. It was a disaster at launch and their subsequent patch later drove everyone away from there. They completely killed interested in Ilum when they REMOVED the daily and weekly quests for that area.

SWTOR HAD OPEN WORLD PVP. THEY KILLED IT!

I know new subscribers don't know what happened before, but if I see another noob talking about how great open world PVP would be, I will scream. I wish they would sticky the threads about Illum then maybe people would stop asking for a dead theme.

I was Around for Illum, The concept was great the implementation was poor. I have been part of other MMOs that did not dedicate areas, or try and use large "battle scenes" (with laggy text etc) to entice players. All you need is to give theplayers CREDIT (WZ comms) for open world pvp, then some small little objectives. for example..secure a piece of territory. = 25 WZ comms per 15 min, this is open for maybe 3 hours a day at various times..

no good? how about crafting nodes on each planet that offer (for the planet level) some pretty decent crafting materials that need to be fought over.

nope? How about letting up actually play together, we will come up with our own stuff..

still not good? Maybe hosting a pvp tournament once per month..

I can do this all night.

how about a single que skirmish teleporter in fleet that will allow you to get a small reward (maybe 25 comms) for fighting and beating someone in one on one with companions?

how about a little like wow? 2 vrs 2 etc..

player based cities that need to be defended. faction that controls it gets a crafting bonus..

    player bounties any faction

    space battles

    space capture the flag

you get my point...some might be hard to implement others...come on..to easy.
