  1. Hey folks,

Unfortunately, for the achievements that we addressed in 3.0.1, you will need to earn them again. It is our usual policy that when an achievement is bugged, that once fixed, we will not re-grant the achievement. This is typically due to it being difficult to isolate players who have earned the achievement versus those who haven't.

As a side/related note, if you sold the Data Packets which you received from Grophets, you will need to earn those again as well.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this.

Interesting that you can find all the data you need to punish folks for supposed 'exploits' (read: people who figured out you screwed the pooch and left it for several days or weeks), and took advantage of the fact. But can't figure out who won an achievement. Or for that matter fix the numerous bugs in the game. :(

  2. I don't do PVP either, and was simply giving my opinion of what I saw in the video. I'm surprised that some people feel I should not have an opinion, or at least not voice it, but they should have a right they don't think I have.
  3. Did not watch the whole stream. Just some parts. So, Strongholds are basically a showroom for our stuff and achievements. Right?

Did they say who can visit my Stronghold and how?

Is it as impractical like the ship?

Yes others can visit by invitation. They spoke of a key system where you give others keys to get in, but little was said about how that will work.

  4. I've been watching the Twitch video on Strongholds, and am not at all impressed. The developers could actually have added content, raised the level cap to 60, or, go figure, fixed stuff. Instead they've opted for yet more window dressing. We get our own "I love me" wall, with little or no functionality that isn't available on our ship.

IMO, a load of crap to get EA more money.

  5. First, I should note that I'm a programmer of many years experience. I cut my teeth on machine code for the 6502 in the Atari 800. When I began in the field, the emphasis was on quality. If it didn't run right, it wasn't ready for release. This does colour my thinking.

Actually no, I'm not referring to the CM. While I think they put a lot of junk in the packs, it seems I'm in the minority, as I've made millions selling what I regard as crap I got from packs on the GTN.

I'm referring to the prepossessed expansion. It advertises a new PVP instance, Probably pretty popular, though Huttball is hated by every PVP player I know, and, oh yah, houses. Which, to all indications, add nothing that is not available on ships. so... window dressing.

This instead of fixing the Jawa balloon, which still disappears about a third of the time on approach to the jump on point. The health bar below the toon name on the main screen, which shows about 5% health after QT's, using a shuttle, or entering an instance, and my favourite, "Cannot see target" when he/she/it is standing right in front of me beating the crap out of me. These are just a few... add to them and the MANY things that get fixed by reclogging ( which, in me experience, means the program is corrupting it's own memory space) and the game has problems that will eventually kill it.

Yup a lot of errors are not 'critical to game play' ( though there are those who live for ops would argue about many of them ). It makes them, and EA's ignoring them, no less annoying.

Finally, the "We do not currently provide support for non-class quests" is a bloody cop-out. Just another way to say, we don't really care.

    My opinion.

  6. While I get Scaletblaze's point of view, some folks are shy. But, that said.I have problems with people who ninja group you and then don't speak at all while the group is active. I have to put forward that my only reason for playing an MMO at all is for the interaction with other players. I have lots of single player games I still find interesting. I've grouped with folks for whom English is a very distant second language, and had decent conversations with them. Hiccups, sure, but fun. My thought is that people who group you and don't talk, are, well, users. You're good enough to help. but not good enough to talk to. I tend to drop the group pretty quickly now it there's no interaction.
  7. My philosophy since I started playing MMOs 13+ years ago is that the moment I feel I have to play (for whatever reason) is the exact moment I know it's time for a break. Sometimes it's a day, others it's a week. The point is to get away from it for a while.

I have to agree. It took 7 years of being addicted to MMOs (in my case Eve), to realize the real life comes first, and a 'need to play' is a distant second. Well said Psandak.

  8. Oh, and nothing to do with your comment. I fully believe it. But you're right. It is the way it is, and I do not like it. EA continues to ignore game problems in favour of flash in the pan goodies. A money maker in the short term, but not everyone in the world is stupid, and, in the end, the EA attitude will destroy what is a fabulous concept.
  9. Quite possible. never tried it before. I was trying to craft it for a friend who wanted a minimal head piece, and got a full mask. Just because it's been that way since launch don't make it right. Same with the Jawa balloon. never worked right since launch, and still bugged. Just another instance where EA has ignored a bug.
  10. I've had all the platitudes from EA "your opinion is important', "priority bugs we're working to fix" yada, yada. I've finally come to the conclusion that, as long as we pay, they don't care. I've ticketed a myriad of bugs, The Jawa balloon, NPCs that we cant shoot because they're in a wall, and players can't shoot through walls, but they can. and so on inadfinitem. They always respond "sorry for you inconvenience,,,,." but the truth is they don't bloody care. The silliest thing? If you report a bug, you get no response. If you submit it as a game play problem, you get a response, sooner or later, but they recommend you report it as a bug, because, apparently, they can't forward it to the next department over.

My latest beef, synthweaving armor that looks one way when on the Rep side, and completely different on the imp side. First they basically destroy synthweaving with the cartel market (it is only good for augments now), Then they break it. There are a huge number of problems with the game, but they'd rather add houses than fix what's broken. I guess as long as new FTP people keep joining, and spending cartel coins to get a playable game, nothing will change.

But I, for one, am not happy, and will be dropping my 2 accounts if I don't see an improvement in what EA laughingly calls 'customer service'.

  11. The game expansion goes better than the email announcement, which is typical EA, Video froze 1/3 of the way through and now won't play at all. Admittedly getting REALLY tired of EA's lack of commitment to a game I love. Bugs to numerous to list , which have never been fixed, non-existent customer support, and a general "we're making money hand over fist, so why should we care about quality?' attitude.
