  1. Hi folks, i recently went out and bought a cat 5 cable to hard wire my computer to my router. (computer is in the kitchen and router is in the bed room) i was using an access point to get my internets. but it seems that my connection is still up and down like a yo-yo. ill be at full bars then 867 ms then back to 222 ms then 654 ms. all with in seconds.

im not running any internet hogging programs in the back ground (just an AV and icloud)

is there anything else i can do to improve this or can someone give me some ideas on what to do to help

  2. Is it possible to kill the same champion over and over (with logging it out and in between kills ). That it will eventually drop the item I'm looking for? I'm looking for rd-07a vendetta jacket. And I found a champion I could farm pretty well som wondering if there is a specific loot table or it's just random whatever it drops
  3. I always find it hard to play alts and usually stick to one too . I have a 50 sniper and always have much to do! Grinding war zones now to get battle master, doing dailies, hard modes etc. and I absolutely love playing my sniper. I have 2 alts though. One is lvl 36 and one is 14. But I hardly play them anymore. Anyone else like this?
  4. You don't need to use cover for all of your major abilities in the spec. Overall, it's a very mobile spec for a sniper. The filler skills do generally require cover, so you'll at least use it briefly in your rotation.

Some others are better at this than me, but generally accuracy to 110%, critical to 35%, surge to 75%, and the rest power. It's very similar to a madness build in that regard.

    Generally the rotation is.

Corrosive grenade > corrosive dart > weakening blast > Cull > filler > Cull > repeat

The filler is a mix of orbital strike, ambush, series of shots (SoS), shatter shot, rifle shot or explosive probe but it tends to depend on the circumstances which you'll use. orbital and SoS are generally the best DPS ones and rifle shot when your energy starts to drop.

With all of that said, I would highly advise against leveling as lethality unless you plan on PVPing primarily. Lethality is really weak until it gets Cull at L30 then it becomes good at single target killing (but questing is not about single target killing). Nothing lower in the tree really will help you at all grinding out quests or quest mobs. The tree is too focused on DOTs which are bad for killing normal mobs. It really inefficent and slow. The Cull setup also requires 65 energy, which is a lot, so you never use it especially with the long cooldown on CG and that the DOTs damage is wasted if you use Cull (as cull kills most things). So you'll end up using "standard" sniper powers like ambush, explosive probe, frag grenade, and snipe most of the time. However, nothing in the tree really benefits those skills at all.

Also, as the above poster mentions, your energy regen is dependent on your critcal chance. You really need about a 30-35% critical chance (on the character sheet) to manage your energy effectively. I've not seen many people get that while leveling. It's just too big a headache keeping up your gear to optimize for 1 specific stat when most of what you use are handouts from questing.

Lethality shines at taking out operations and flashpoint bosses, and is excellent at it, but you don't see many of those until endgame.

This is why most people recommend leveling as engineering or marksman. Engineering is my preferred as it is very quick at dealing with normal trash mobs with frag grenade spam. It's a little weak on single target until series of shots but more than capable of dealing with quests bosses. Marksman is also good as it's really heavy on buffs to the skills you use often while leveling and has the best defensive talents availabile to snipers early in the tree.

As far as accuracy is concerned should the hundred and 10% B what is shown on the character sheet or what is moused over on. Also is the marksmanship talent reflected on the character sheet. I'm currently sitting at 105% accuracy that is shown on the character sheet without mousing over. It's kind of confusing and I can't get a straight answer

  5. so its early and i havent had my coffee yet so forgive me if this sounds dumb.

for starters here are my stats.

    bonus damage-455

    accuracy-104.86 (408 rating)

    crit-39.54

    crit multiplier-64.58 (108 rating)

    1) i have 104.86 accuracy right now. while reading over http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/thread-953.html#IV its seems that all i need is 100% (or as close as possible) and also since im marksman i get an additional 3% accuracy

    2) does the talent that adds accuracy reflect on my character window? (i dont think it does)

    3) if i add the talent and my accuracy that gives me 107%..which means, from what im reading in the above link, i should be able to drop 7% accuracy and i should put it into surge rating.

    does this sound right?

  6. Mind you I'm only lvl 30. But I've only been lvling via pvp and flashpoints . I think I do rather well in pvp most days . I have a sniper main but only use him for world boss farming now. (though cant seem to solo the tattotione one) but the thing that always makes me smile is ...dual pistols. Get some nice ones and set your sights on enemies. Dual freaking wielding pistols!
  7. ive read over all this post and still need a helping hand. can someone critique me please.

  9. From looking at the talents for pyro (PPA to be more specific) and the first tier giving alacrity 4% , it seems that stat would be higher on the priority list. Is this true?

I was playing around with the talent calc and instead of going up the arsenal tree , going up the bodyguard tree for another 6% alacrity proc seems like a good idea if the above answer together question is yes . So I'd gather it'd be crit > alacrity > power > surge or something like that. Haven't played max lvl merc yet but just some thoughts I had.

    Thanks
