  1. Few Reasons :

    - Combat system oh noez

    - Sounds make my ear bleed

    - Character Models seriously ***

    - PvP

    - PvP

    - PvP

    - 38477478278484788*10^9001 loading screens on literally every edge of a map.

    Main Reason :

    - Never intended to play long term, just a substitute for Diablo III to come out. Its out now, so theres no way im sticking around here.

  2. One problem with that idea - they can slow you too, so after all is said and done both toons still move at the same speed. It might work against a very bad marauder, but any decent one will have no problems staying in melee range.

While That Might be true, you can still outdps an Marauder if you instantly interrupt his Ravage, and put him in Force Lift while he uses his defensive cooldowns. (Most Marauders waste CC break into your stun, so this shouldnt be an issue)

  3. Have you been pvping lately?, sentinels/marauders are unstoppable not only they are doing insane damage, but they can cloak any time they are about to be killed, and now troopers/bounty hunters got more damage, how do you defend against that?. What good is a class if it cannot compete in combat against the rest of tthe classes?

Slow is your best friend. Also, their insane Damage mostly comes from Ravage, and there comes the mind snap. when they cloak I speed away and wait until its expired. You can slow them to hell, even when they spec into 2 Jumps.

You can also simply outdamage Bounty/Trooper since they dont really have defense. Also, interrupt their casts. Mind snap has no Global Cooldown and no cost, take advantage of that.

    sincely,

  4. Ehm im playing a consular on Balance, which is the Equivalent of an Madness sorcerer and Im only noticing that nothing but Fire-Powertech is hard to kill in 1v1. Let alone in situations where you can cast freee
  5. Maybe I should post this in the Sorc forum, but this place seems more active.

I recently resubbed to try out 1.2, havent played since like early February. My main was a Sorc that used that insta-cast chain lighting deal (Madness hybrid). Still trying to remember what all the skills were called, so forgive me if I sound like a retard. As my points were refunded when I logged in, I cannot tell you exactly where my points went, but from what I understand, the ability to make Chain Lightning an instant cast through a proc is no longer possible, is that correct? Yes

Can someone breakdown what got changed, and if the old hybrid spec is still viable? Or did that particular Sorc build just get kicked in the nuts? Its not viable anymore afaik.

If not, are there any competative Sorc DPS builds anylonger?

    Try out pure Madness

    sincerly,

  7. That will certainly help those in the 10-49 Qs who run into a premade and have no chance at getting 3 medals because their team is getting stomped too hard.

But the real problem with the rewards system is that even for wins you get fewer comms & credits then you used to for PvP, while the relative cost for gear in the game has gone up quite a bit.

    G R I N D.

Also, what was my favorite part of the game, leveling via PvP 10-49, is now completely broken with the current rewards system.

Its not, you get insane amounts of xp and credits, even faster as questing.

    sincerly a pvp leveling sage

    Seems legit for me

    +1 Bioware

  9. For realism, Grand Master Satele should obviously be with you when you face Vitiate. Hell, bring the entire Jedi Council too.

This is the most powerful, feared Dark Lord/Sith Emperor ever then. He eats planets, knows most every Dark Side technique which is how he's lived 1,300 years so far (not sure what lightsaber style he uses if at all cuz he's obviously a Sorc), but yea. Even then.....good luck Jedi......

But any other Person, even Satele Shan herself, would immedeatly be mind-twisted by the emperor, which is why you cant even bring your companions but your droid.

Makes sence since scourge is only with you because he waited 300 years for you to be born as the 'only person who can resist his dark influence'.

    sincerly,

  10. The thing is, I played WoW and remember the zombie event and all the associated Undead Plague stuff, which felt dumb for the simple reason that there essentially was no cure. It arbitrarily stopped at certain points, but was never cured completely, which made it feel like a half-assed zombiepocalypse plot device.

I really like the Rakghoul plague as a world event, because they started off with a fairly small and innocuous idea in KOTOR, ran with it as a bit more threatening and urgent on Taris in the Republic campaign there(haven't played Imperial yet so not sure how it plays into them), and now we see that it's possible for it to spread to other planets if not carefully controlled.

Point is, if BioWare keeps this up as a world event and keeps increasing it by little bits and gradually adding to it, it could turn into a fully fleshed-out, very interesting story-driven part of the game, and who knows where it will end up? Maybe there will be a lvl 50 Flashpoint or Operation for both sides to go into some deep, hidden lab/ruins on Taris and try and find a cure once and for all, once both sides realize exactly how dire a threat this has become.

Anyways, I give BW 2 thumbs up for this, it's starting off slow but has huge potential to end up as something epic.

In WoW you could just purge the debuff from you if you were a sufficient class ...

    no cure pfft

  11. He didn't lose on purpose for the sake of getting a new body for his Voice because the body he was in he just acquired recently and after the Voss incident he said he was not going to make the mistake of requiring the death of his host body to leave it again.

As for whether he used all of his power, it appears he is recovering when the JK walks in on him, likely from the Voss incident. While the Emperor recovers to a greater extent if you save your companion, however that doesn't necessarily mean he was at full power at the time of the fight. Furthermore we don't know how powerful the Voice is in relation to the Emperor's true body, so it might actually be impossible for the Voice to fight with the Emperor's full power.

Well so did the SW. *shrug*

Well wether or not his true body still exists let alone has any effects in future is pure speculation. Whats set is that it won't have any serious influence on the outcome of the further Star wars history.

  12. Not yet anyhow. Future content may have something to add, seeing as the main two hands (who really remind me of those 2 un-named unicorns from Charlie the Unicorn) hint that the Emperor is gathering his strength for future plans.

Well his impact can't be that big anyways, since the Galactic story mainline progresses without him. That beeing said, the 'Jedi Knight' possibly defeated the Galaxy's strongest Sith Lord ever.

    sincerly,

  13. I'm pretty sure the purpose of that quest is to actually make you facepalm, and consider how, if you are a massive Light Side goober, you are really kind of playing Stupid Good, and not necessarily a heroic champion of the light. Imperial side has plenty of the opposite (horribly stupid DS choices). It fits in with BioWare's theme.

I suppose it's also meant to demonstrate how silly and inefficient the Senate is, and how flawed its members are. You spend half the planet doing/uncovering evil deeds linked to the Senate. It fits in with that too.

    Exactly. To underline this :

    Ex.1

In a Quest you are sent to retrieve rare money some senator has paid to the Black Sun syndicate for Blackmailing his opponents, to let another senator form a formal accusation against him

    Ex.2

In another quest one Senator lost a shipment of illegal slave collar chips to the migrant merchants guild

    Ex.3

The Governor of Coruscant accepted credits from the migrant merchants guild in order to win the election

  14. This all depends on what the expected experience is that you want in the game.

If you like bondage, can you build a story line where your a mistress and have urself a dog to walk around?

They have to disconnect it and call to the masses. Lets be honest, most ppl who play this is guys. Almost all guys (who are over 18) want 2 things...

    1) Get laid.

    2) Drink beer with his mates.

Once they have families, this adds one more:

    3) Spend time with the little one.

Pardon, I disapprove of your prejudge on my Gender and Age group,

    sincerly

  15. This game has one of the most asinine naming policies I've ever had the misfortune of encountering.

After trying to name a new character for an hour, I still can't find a name that it will accept. It's not that the name is taken, it's an "Invalid Name" because of the absurd level the filter has been taken to.

For example, apparently Freyja is an "Invalid Name" because it happens to be an ancient (as in, no one practices that religion anymore) deity. Nevermind that it's a real name that actual people are named. The game's coding also seems to lack the ability the distinguish between NPCs and player names, so all of those NPCs that use the common names block anyone from having them (seriously, no player is going to mistake a PC for an NPC and, even if they do, what is the actual damage?). Jeff is blocked because apperently that's the first name of a Bioware employee (nevermind that no one would ever mistake me for a Bioware employee just because my character had the same firstname as one). The few real names that aren't obscure and aren't blocked by the asinine filter are obviously taken.

How is it that a name like Alexis is "Invalid" (blocked, not taken or in use) but yet I see people running around with names like Captnpicard. Really?

It amazes me that, in this day and age, MMOs are still using the first name of a character as the primary index. No serious database programmer would ever use the first name as the primary key. Tabula Rasa had the right idea; it was the last name not the first name that was unique. It's absurd that in a large galaxy, only one person in the entire galaxy can have a given name. The other advantage of using last names is that, because it is shared amongst all characters, it makes messaging that person easier because you simply send a message to their last name and it doesn't matter which character

wrong. No MMO, neither wow nor star wars or any else use the 'Name' of an character as the Primary Key in the Characters database. They use the Character ID, which is unique per server and called upon in all other character relations.

The Name is just unique aswell, but, asides from chat systems, it would be technically possible to have 2 characters with the same name. (Weird chat bugs and social bugs aside)

    sincerly,

  16. Really?

Blizzard is 10000x better than BioWare.

Blizzard usually gave 3 days of free time for a simple 3 hour extended maintenance.

The one and only occasion were we recieved 3 days from blizzard was after an entire week of downtime with extreme lag issues months before.

That beeing said there were several daylong and even weeklong downtimes from blizzard without refunds given.

get your facts clear before you start trash talking, sir.

    sincerly,
