  1. Med-tech gear is for Powertechs, not mercenaries. That would be why there is a generator and not an offhand for the Med-tech gear.

Otherwise, why do you need an offhand specific weapon at all? The point of the black hole gear is to pull the mods and slot them into other gear. Currently I'm using two offhand Rakata blasters slotted into augmented pistols. The stats are identical.

Med-Tech is the Black Hole veriation of the Combat Medic set for mercenaries, not Powertechs... Powertechs don't have a healing spec. The generators are for the Commando (Mirror to the Mercernary on the republic side.) Mercenaries can't wear generators, so its either a misplaced item or BW is messing with us.

  2. simply put:

since you can extract the mods from an offhand blaster and put them in your MAIN hand it would be unwise to allow

a BlackHole offhand weapon since there then would be no need to attempt to do hardmode Explosive Conflict which

is currently the only place to attain the highest level weapon mods in the game.

Or, they could make it so the barrel is off hand specific like armoring. Doesn't seem right that focus and shield generator users get their off hand and we dont. Besides the Black hole equipment isn't supposed to be better then campaigne.

  3. I'm trying to get an accurate account to of where Merc DPS is PvE wise. As long as they are as good as sorc dps I'll be happy. I wanted to roll a new ranged dps for Ops as an alt (my Sorc main only runs EC now) and couldn't decide between a sniper or merc. I tried sniper till 20 but couldn't stand the cover mechanics even early on. My wife had a merc to level 40 and it was pretty fun most of the way.

I know pre-patch 1.2 my Merc buddy was (or had to be) at the top of the charts in my raid group. But not sure how they are now since I've been away from the game for a bit (since before 1.2). As long as they aren't like ops or shadow dps I'll be ok. Their story and leveling are easy as pie and for some reason BH gear drops like candy from all the pug groups I run.

Yeap, Merc DPS is as good as if not better then sorc. They are super easy to level (especailly since we start off with Mako) Death from Above is arguably the funnest skill ever. With 1.3 in effect, our heating has become better, and our rotation has become easier (Even though it was already pretty easy.) I strongly suggest a Merc. I love mine and currently getting ready to start EC HM

  4. Yes, Merc DPS is very viable for operations, Arsenal right now stacks up DPS wise with maras and snipers. However, arsenal merc currently is the worst PvP spec due to loss of mobility and survivabiliity. So...

-If you want to PvE go Arsenal Merc (Fastest leveling, and awesome endgame DPS.)

-If you want to PvP go Pyro Merc (If you plan on doing a lot of PvP I suggest going Powertech.)

But, from my own experience there is only 1 class that is not viable IMO for end game OPS, and that is Operatives, its either noone knows how to play them, or that class is broken, but I have seen none that are capable of doing required DPS. (Can't pass Council fight in EV HM with rakata gear = Not Viable.)

  5. Arzoo you're totally right, except for on the following fights:

    Eternity Vault:

-Gharj (Not affected by pounce as ranged) Sure we get knocked into the lava... Also gotta make sure we don't land in the lava waterfall

-Pylons (Can still effectively dps mobs as ranged while doing the puzzle, although more often than not ranged don't volunteer to do the puzzle) Sure on SM, but everyone has to participate in HM

-Soa (Ranged can still dps while melee are running to group for the ground shatter phases) Sure if we want to continue standing in the pylons doing massive damage...

    Karragga's Palace:

-Bonethrasher (Easier to avoid swipe as ranged, also to notice he has you targeted) Or you can stand behind him...

-Jarg and Sorno (Easier to avoid AoE flamethrower) He pulls us in...

-Fabricator (Not affected by close range abilities, fewer melee makes fight easier, melee have to break from boss in bonus damage mode to kill stun droids) Probably something you dont notice.

-Karragga (Mouse droids can be taken out at a distance, not affected by flame trail so not affected by positioning) Never done this fight

Haven't completed a lot of EC/Denova, but the first boss is way easier with more ranged to soak up heals, melee have to be perfectly behind the boss or may get cleaved if too close (under him), or a little to the side. Ranged can still dps during the switch, as where melee really don't want to be in the middle during switch.

Sure, seems to me like you should play a RDPS before you start saying it doesn't require skill

  6. -There are more DPS specs then Healing and Tanking spec...

-There are 2 True DPS AC's per faction, no True-Tank/ Healer ACs

-Its just a matter of ratio, there are more options for DPS

    4-Classes

    8-AC

    18-DPS spec's to choose from

3- Tank specs to choose from

3- Healer specs to choose from

Also, there is more compition in DPSing, if your in a raid using combat logging, seeing someone else doing more damage then you, is going to make you try harder.

  7. You can either get the +Power relic (Campaigne Relic of Boundless Ages)

or the one that is passive damage preferably the one that does kinetic damage.

but your other relic should always be the Matrix Cube because of the stats, I suggest you tube how to find

the crystals you need to make it.

  8. Your not wrong, arsenal is a terrible spec for pvp. Best you can do is try your hardest not to get noticed.

If you do get into it 1 v 1. Shock them let them break it, then concussion missle and run away.

Or fight them and pop all your cooldowns, if they are a terrible player you should be able to down them.

  9. Arsenal is the way to go both leveling and end game. Once you get death from above and obliterate multiple mobs at once you will be happy you made the BH choice, Arsenal Mercs in my honest opinion is the quickest and easiest character to level and they are down right fun to play, plus they start off with a healing companion which is awesome, and they eventually get a jawa!!

BH storyline is lacking though, and may possibly be the worst storyline in the game, as far as imperials go I think.

  10. Yea I did a test today, and I did hit around 2900 crit on my tracer missle. And about a 5200 on my HSM

I suggest dropping the 4pc set bonus and getting a couple more augmented pieces. I only use the 2 pc bonus as it adds that 15%. Most importantly once you have your 30% crit and 75% surge and roughly 102% acc.

Start stacking power as much as possible, you may have to exchange some mods or even keep lesser mods to get your stats but it will maximize your damage.

  11. I've seen heatseeker and rail shot do ok, but the tracer missile action is just so poor. People say i need surge mods, but the ones they provide in other gear don't make the difference, and the raid drops are so few and far between that its just not worth grinding it out. However i would like to thank you for your polite assistance, its probably the only help i've gotten in this game so far that has not insulted my intelligence and gotten right to the matter of things.

Oh, I think its a misunderstanding, I have over 2k AIM and I don't see my tracer missles hitting over 2200 very often, your stats are good, 75% surge is the recommend, 30-35% crit, 103% acc.

Keep going with it, how much augmented gear do you have?

  12. Why bother? I spent six months modding this one out for it just to get nerfed back to the stone age because people couldn't figure out how to interrupt tracer missile. So why bother building another character if they are just going to change the endgame gear and stats so that they suck? I really don't see the logic of playing this game anymore when bioware treats its customer base like this.

I don't understand your frustration, from the 1 rotation you did, it seemed like you were on par with were you should be, I didn't see any crits but it was only 1 rotation that you did. Just to clearify your looking for your TM to crit over 2k?

    or your HSM/ Rail Shot?

  13. Suggestions:

-You can lower you accuracy and add more power. Or if you have the +3% accuracy skll you can switch for the alacrity, nothing wrong with dropping from 1.5 tracer to 1.43. (Just keep eye on heat.)

I use the alacrity because a lot of fights require you to move, so I like to get my missles off faster but not shoot them so close together, so I don't over heat.

-Your popping your rail shot without having 5 stacks of its buff which is lowering its damage. Your rotation should be TM x3 --> HSM --> Unload --> TM x2 --> Rail Shot --> Unload --> Repeat.

-Not sure if you doing it but hit that relic and adrenal early, so that you can use it again towards the end of the fight.

(Unless the fight has a phase where you need to burn something FAST.)

-Missles should never loose to a glorified flashlight...

  14. Can you please make a parser with more then just 1 rotation.

If in 2 or 3 rotations and you don't see any crits I will say it is a problem with the game. But I seriously find it hard to believe that you can't get past 3k...

I don't like to see people quit the game, and I can understand when someone doesn't like the way there character performs, but my suggestion would be to start a new character, even though you don't like the grind, in the long run you will thank yourself.

  15. Bob: So... What would you say you do here?

Joveth: I already told you people!! I take recommendations from the customers and I bring it to the programmers!!

Bob: So you take the specs from the customers and physically take it to the programmer?

Joveth: Well no... My assistant does that...

Bob: So... What would you say YOU do here?

Hehe, sorry community team just reminds me of Office Space.

    Keep up the good work!

  16. I play Jugg, from level 1 - 50 I think I might have died 3 times. If you use Quinn, you can survive just about any fight including 2 elites of your own level (If your in soresu form). Problem is however that, and I didn't know this untill I played an Arsenal Merc, but Juggs are really slow killers, Rage spec is awesome once your got the 31 points, Vengence is quick but unless you can manage a DPS + Sorensu form survivability is low.
  17. IMO, I also have a 50 Jugg and 50 Aresenal Merc, I feel my damage output with merc is by far better then Jugg, however, whenever I do decide to dps with the Jugg I always take the multi tanking off tank, because with rage spec you have a massive aoe damage output, plus you can also be an extra guard for healers or someone who just pulls a lot of threat. But I rarely ever try and DPS with Jugg, because compared to my merc playing abilities its rediculous. But Jugg is more fun when I get to tank.
