Yes, the game has lots of potential, and the monthly fee isn't that much anyways.
-
i dont know if you can get do it before you hit 50 but it is possible. you can re run older dungeons and choose the light side option to help build yourself back up. also if youre not to devoted to your crew skills yet you can pick up diplomacy which nets your aligments points ontop of companion gifts.
Alright, thank you.
-
Lightsided gear is better looking, that's my reason tbh.

Hello there
I'm currently at 4000 dark points (tier 3) and I am regretting my decision of going dark, but I'm a bit concerned. Would it be hard for me to start going light and actually getting to tier 5, before or shortly after I hit 50? I'm level 30 right now.
-
I actually agree that you should be able to do so.

After the first several days of putting up with this game, I am about to.
This game most definitely was NOT ready for release. The bugs are too numerous to list and many are major ones. Bioware is not paying me for my time to generate a proper bug report and so I will not further waste it.
Here are just a few...
1. Numerous archeology nodes on every planet I've been to so far cannot be interacted with. Mousing over the node does not cause the cursor to change and right clicking on the node does nothing. Yet it shows up on the map as a node. A minor thing perhaps, but very annoying when you kill your way through a bunch of mobs to get to it. How did such a thing make it to release?
If this was something to quit for, every single herbalist in wow would've stopped playing when they reached twilight highlands.
2. When interacting with a pvp gear vendor, selecting the sort option to show me only gear that is useable by my character does nothing. I am still shown the complete list of gear available even though I cannot use the vast majority of it.
Getting the same thing, really annoying, and should've been fixed before release tbh.
3. I constantly need to dismiss and then re-summon my companion to get him to be with me when I jump off even a small ledge or rock. This is not 100% of the time, but often enough that I wish I had a macro for it.
Haven't been an issue for me, I've only had to do it once.
These are just a few things that I can think of off the top of my head. If I actually cataloged every problem encountered in the game, I could write a book.
Here is the BIG one.
My son's BH has been completely prevented from progressing in the game as he cannot move past a class quests.
This is now known to apply to male BHs as well as my son has experienced it. Right now, he cannot progress his character at all and this condition is going on two full days now. The reply to his in-game ticket took well over 24 hours and it was a canned reply at that.
I'm playing a male BH as well, and I haven't encounted it. Which quest is it?
24+ hours for a canned reply with no specific information about what is being done to resolve the issue nor any estimate of a time frame to do so? This company knows nothing about customer "support".
My gameplay experience is well less than optimal and I am now wondering why I payed for 3-months up front.
I am now about to go see if I can cancel the account for a full refund.
Bioware...
You seriously need to fix this game. It has great potential and there is much to like about it.
However, it was (still is) NOT ready for release. Not even close. I for one would much preferred to of waited another month or three for a more mature product than to be asked to pay a subscription just so that I can beta test it.
Please get it right.

The following are some things that make TOR feel old:
- No LFG Tool (been in WoW for over 2 years... absolutely baffled as to how this hasn't been developed for TOR yet)
I personally HATE the LFG Tool, so I don't want it added.
- Awful UI; I could make an entire thread about this (and people already have), but for the sake of brevity, I'll just restate that it's awful
Agreed. I hope (and think) they'll let us customize it in the near future.
- Pet AI is horrible, between the delay on commanding their auto attack, their hilarious pathing errors, and many others; it's safe to say giving every Class+Spec a pet was a bad idea, without first giving them AI that's passable in 2011
I don't really care, as they're not even part of endgame.
- 2007 graphics (The Skybox being a 2D Painting is particularly insulting)
I'm no graphics-fanboy, so personally the graphics doesn't concern me. 2007 seems a bit unfair though.
- No Day/Night Cylce
Does anyone even care?
- No accessable body of water deeper than 6 inches
Does anyone even care?
- Server queues (Had queues in WoW for Vanilla, BC, and Wrath but not Cata, Blizzard has evolved, BioWare has not)
They have queues in order to balance the server population, which is awesome.
- Lackluster Character Creation
Agreed.
- Absurd Leveling curve; the overall process of getting from 1-50 is pretty fast, but the curve for time per level increases at a rate that makes me feel like I'm playing Aion again
Can't really say I care if I don't get a level every 30 minutes (as wow up till 80).
- Three Warzones, No Arenas (also consider Huttball cannot be taken seriously as Rated PvP). Again; TOR is competing with 2011 WoW (8 Battlegrounds, 4 of which can be done Rated + Arena Content)
- No Macros
Agreed.
- No mouseover casting
I don't prefer mouseover casting, so I don't care, personally.
- No addon support
Agreed.
- No Dual Spec
Undecieded if I prefer it or not.
- Taris memory leaks (should have been fixed in Beta, not "overnight" a week after Early Access started for the game's release build)
Haven't been there, so no comment. But if true, then that sucks.
- Lack of variety in quests; everything is kill X amount of Y, unlike WoW where they've added a lot of variation (for better or for worse) in the quests, which makes leveling feel less grindy
Are you saying wow questing is better? Rofl, lol, lmao, LAWL!
- Voice Actors voicing too many different people; I don't think I've seen this many Characters with the same Voice Actor, since the first Deus Ex game
Personally haven't been bothered.
- Player Character repeating Dialogue from other conversations (My Sith Inquisitor has said "I'll show you what a Sith can do!" like 5 times now, and other less memorably rhyming are equally if not more common)
Agreed.
- "Choices" are still just the Blue good guy option, or the Red bad guy option — this was kinda new in KOTOR, and still cool in both Mass Effects; but unimpressive today
Partly agreed.
- No Mount until level 25; it only takes a couple hours to get your first Mount in WoW these days. No idea why this was considered a good idea
You still get sprint before that, so I wasn't bothered. (Probably will be with alts though)
- Awkward gold; having over 500,000 gold by the time you hit 40 is... silly, and will be a major hassle as the game ages and gold inflation occurs
Again, ROFL.
- A vast array of technical errors that BioWare, and easily amused Players will chalk up to "Every launch has issues, go play WoW kid!"; but nonetheless detract from gameplay, and are hard to excuse in a 2011 title
Elaborate, please.
- No Appearance/Gear Customization such as WoW's Transmogrification, or a standard MMO Appearance Tab (weird in a game where we watch ourselves talk so much)
Agreed.
- No Barbershop for minor character recustomization (again, weird in a game where we watch so much of our character speaking)
Agreed.
My take on your points.
-
I haven't had any problems either. I got in to the game yesterday, but since I ordered late I don't see any reason for me to complain, since they've said all along that they wouldn't let everyone in at the same time.
The servers are down now though, so I guess that's my complaint ;p
-
I'd be so sad if the estimates actually were accurate, seeing as I'm 25th nov ;<
-
The SW:TOR devs announced that every remaining pre-order will be in by tomorrow.
.
Could you link me to that post/twitter/whatever. Haven't heard anything about that.
-
You do realize the initially said up to 5 days, which would mean 15th, and what date is it today? That's right, 14th. They've said all along they wouldn't invite everyone at the same time, so I don't see the reason to whine about it, especially since it doesn't help even the slightest.
-
Up to 5 days didn't you understand?
I can see flaws in this "launch", but they've said "up to 5 days" all along, so I don't see the point of all the "let everyone in RIGHT NOW" whining.
-
They are not being quiet about it. You just are not reading what they are posting and emailing.
Quoted for truth.
-
your speaking as if this game is going to fail in the next 3 months.
I don't think he is. I'm going to do the same thing, and I think the game will be very successful.
-
As said, this isn't launch.
I have no idea why people seem to think so.
-
It's not too late to do the right thing BW.
How is that the right thing?
I'm guessing you're one of those people that read "up to 5 days" but somehow missed "up to".
-
but the question is will everyone get in on the 15th?
They never said everyone would get in on the 15th, did they? No.
-
Enter you, Bioware, who, with your extremely shoddy management and poorly advertised "Early Game Access", have pretty much tripped over a branch whilst trying to walk down the path of MMOs, instead of trying to start with a jog. Hell, you already have a leg up on Rift with 50 US and 50 EU servers ready to roll, with the capability of making more.
.
How was the early access poorly advertised? You were one of those people that read "up to 5 days", but somehow missed UP TO?
