Hey folks,
In preparation for our next PTS build, we have gone ahead and taken the PTS server offline along with Character Copy. PTS will remain offline until we have the next patch ready which we are hoping to happen later this week.
The current plan is that the next PTS update will also include PvP Challenges as well as Gods from the Machine changes.

Just wondering if there is an update on the team looking into why there is no HK decoration or statue at the vendor on the fleet?
Been looking forward to it for ages but still no update. @dev will it be installed by the end date or will it be a future patch thing

The launcher is still reading "We will be taking the servers offline on Tuesday, September 19th for back end maintenance."

It looks the website will be staying up throughout maintenance. I will leave the messaging as is though just in case the team needs to bring it down.
You can expect patch notes around the time maintenance is scheduled to conclude (12PM Central). I will post here if they go up earlier than that!

Just wanted clarification on what's happened as I have logged in after the patch, as I might have missed some important details and might need some help clearing the air on it.
So I have just patched going into 5.5. Made some characters on the other servers over the last few days getting them ready for the Double XP week that we are about to have. The Red Eclipse, Tomb of Freedon Nadd, and on French servers and was beginning to broaden to a couple of other servers here and there.
However I have logged, patched, servers are still down.... yet I only see 5 of them, and most of them are not even there. For example, the Red Eclipse server is...... not there.
Is there any reason for this? I was unaware this was happening, and had been under the impression any structural changes were taking place 2 weeks from now on the 24th.
Is something being tested in the background as to why I am only seeing "The Progenitor, Battle Meditation, Begeren Colony, Darth Nihilus and Mantle of the Force" servers?
Sorry if there is something I missed earlier on.

Some of you have asked to have our Double XP/CXP event extended and others have asked us to keep the current CXP amounts for the Daily Areas.
We’ll lock down what exactly we’re doing and let you know in the coming days.

Same applies here. It would be perfectly normal they give us 500-1000 coins imo, as a compensation for our payed but unplayed game time, as well as any other possible inconveniencies it may have caused, as planning your day to play the game and being screwed, for instance.
Compensation with CC is appropriate and needs to happen ,actually. Extended event and subscriber times too, of course. I mean what the hell, this is regular stuff in other games, and here we're talking about it as if it was something so rare we shouldnt even be talking about it. There's no argument or discussion about it, compensation needs to happen, period.
Extended event and delay on the patch on the Daily missions is more than adequate, we don't really need CC's.

Hey anybody on the Dev!!
It was posted that the fix for the 5.4a exploit was not implemented, and we should avoid the exploit.
What in the holy hell should I avoid??!! I have no clue what was wrong. I logged in earlier this morning, and 5.4a did NOT install. The servers went down all day, then when I can finally log in again, 5.4a installs.
Am I screwed because it installed? Should I just not play until the fix for the "exploit" is implemented? What am I supposed to do???
Please avoid summoning other players inside the trader's lounge on Odessen. Also, please avoid any summons that direct you to Odessen, just to be a bit more in the clear.
Can't go wrong with that.

Hey folks,
As a heads up, the fix for this exploit did not get implemented along with the patch issues we had today. That means that this is still possible until we address it next week. I just want to reiterate that you should avoid this exploit until it is fixed.

Is the offence bannable? I mean, I grinded to get access to the stronghold, so i know I am in the clear.
But I just wanted to ask openly in general. Exploits on Grand Theft Auto Online are usually dealt with by the head bodies by bans, so I am just curious as to which course of action will be taken should anyone choose to ignore your plea. Thanks Eric.

Well that makes more sense. I didn't check out the PHPBB options, I saw all devs posting in yellow and assumed that it was reserved for them to differentiate posts. A fair assumption after a few beers I would think. Any my apologies sir.

It's the self entitlement crowd at work, if there is a chance they can get something for free they'll damn well give it a go.
I think personally if I were BWA I'd look to add 1 day subscriber time to all subs (if possible) and leave it at that, that after all is ideally the only paid part of the game people have missed out on.
People whinging about missing out on a code are just being rather pathetic imo and it sucks because they effectively have ruined it from ever happening again.
One of the coolest downtimes I remember was when it started out as codes and developed into quiz questions to win prizes ... now all the SJWs with their "it's not fair if we don't all get it" have ruined that from happening, what a shame.
See, I agree. Though I would not be moved in the slightest if I did not get Cartel Coins, or Sub time at all. I much prefer the in-game rewards like 2x XP, 2x CXP and the other increments. I even suggested earlier in the thread about holding off on said maintenance incoming in a few days, and delaying it for the week after, as a good recompense.

Ok, I take back all the nice things I said about BW. This guy is just being a straight-up D-BAG for no reason. Yellow text means BW staff, right? If so that's one of the most unprofessional things I've ever read from a game studio. Possibly ever worse than CPP.
No, yellow text means I just changed my text colour to yellow. Kind of like this. And like this.
They give me the option to type in yellow and that is what I like. That is all. I am in no shape or form a representative of their body.

I don't see why people are demanding a bucket of Cartel coins as a recompense for the maintenance.
Another week of the double rewards, the Daily missions still really high, those seem fair to me. As much as Cartel Coins would be lovely, I don't see why they should shower everyone's accounts with them just to say sorry for a day's worth of maintenance.

ANyone else having issues patching now? I get to 87.5% installed and it stalls and does nothing...
Do you have BitRaider disabled? That solves 99% of launcher and game issues for me, and customer support were the ones who suggested it be disabled.

Perhaps another full week of 2x XP/CXP/WZ etc as a recompense for the X prime time loss during the event? I mean, We couldn't exactly make the most out of it. That and maybe, just maybe, leaving the Daily CXP patch until the week after as well? What do you say, Eric?

I am wondering if one of the Devs could help out on this one. Because it has been a thorn in my side, particulary in terms of Roleplay perspective.
I would like a confirmation from a Dev whether we can actually go to Tython or Korriban and Roleplay there, after the invasions of Zakuul practically razed them into dust. As Lore says "later" but how later is not specified. Or would any information be deemed a spoiler and cannot be handed out as for upcoming expansion/s?

Credits are not worth much in the way of real money these days. So the 3 million scenario you present is kind of pointless, other then to make a strawman as to what might go unnoticed.
Given their capability to track such transfer via their analytics, I personally would never do anything that allowed me to directly move/transfer credits from one account to another.
Technically, players can barter between themselves anyway they want in game as long as it does not use out of game assets.
Still, I would like the final answer from the Devs, just to clarify and be sure.

Hey folks,
As you may know from previous posts on the topic, when it comes to credit sellers we will often do a large takedown at one time. This allows us to have the largest impact on the credit sellers without them being able to react. Today was one of those instances.
With today's maintenance we acted on a few different initiatives to help curb the in-game chat and mail spam of credit sellers. Some examples of what was done today include:
- Banning of thousands of credit selling accounts.
- Closing a loophole in an existing promotion, that allowed credit sellers to quickly and easily make accounts which could send you in-game mail and access the fleet.
- Made adjustments to some existing automated functions to better catch credit sellers.
- And more... (we don't want to reveal everything we are doing to the credit sellers )
Keep in mind that when it comes to catching credit sellers, as we make adjustments, so do they. It is a constant game of cat and mouse, but it is one that we will continue to focus on aggressively. For this reason, it is important that you continue to always report these spammers and credit sellers as you see them. I know sometimes it seems like we aren't taking action, but I promise that your reports are critical in our ability to find and take action against credit sellers.

In regards to the actual purchasing of credits, perhaps this has already been spoken about, asked and answered, but I just have not seen it.
Say a person actually grinds and obtains millions and millions of credits. His friend comes along and says "Hey man, could I buy like 3 million off you for a few bucks?" And the person agrees and the transaction happens.
As those credits were obtained by actually working hard and grinding, and it was a personal trade, is that still a violation?? Thanks!!

This is true. I have it too. I have to restart my computer and Repair the launcher, both, several times before I can play. This is restricting my gameplay. And it has never happened before the 4.4 patch Mid May. Any help, devs?
