  1. Join the rest of us who feel this way and leave on the 20th. I sure as hell won't be wasting my time listening to the same dialogue over and over again for every character I roll looking for the 3 differences in tone that they have throughout the whole game.
  2. There is something seriously wrong with certain people. The game has 8 classes but some less than brilliant people rush through 1 of the 8 stories so they can quit once the free month is over. I guess if you call those people any names you get a warning but it seems a silly strategy. Why do these types ever bother buying these types of games?

Probably because it was marketed as an MMORPG with end game that it doesn't have.

  3. Wow, you play way too much video games....

This is why you burned out in the first month.

The problem is... you don't have to play video games too much to be level 50 in this amount of time. I was in no rush to 50 and I have already made it. There is just a lack of content and fast leveling.

  4. To the OP.

    Gear and skill rotation.

Learning to play the build you have is the key to success.

Your complaining about a Vanguard etc.. try a Shadow.

A shadow sucks until level 32, and it comes down to one skill " Spinning Strike "

I pulled my hair out over that stupid class but now have learned to love it.

    Just stick at it.

Use your 1 minute stun etc on one mob, then burn the other down without using area of effect.

2 silver mobs is the same as an elite. So yeah, 2 of those + some trash and it is a tough fight.

Some of the enemy skills totally **** me in seconds, those darn fire droids, or the supressive fire ones, I am so dead if I don't crowd control quickly.

I think there is a misunderstanding in this thread. I don't think the OP is talking about the DIFFICULTY of fighting mobs but the tedium of it. For those that don't know... it means to be tedious - which is different from difficult.

Tedious means too long, slow, dull. Which explains exactly what silvers are like. They aren't hard or difficult, they are tedious fights which put people to sleep.

  5. People prefer to be evil. What that says about the future of humanity is depressing.

It is actually has nothing to do with the future of humanity.

What it means is that the majority of people would never dream of being this evil in real life... that is why people play video games, specifically RPGs... to play things that they are not. A lot more people relate to the Republic side as the good side, the side most of us would probably be on in real life. But this isn't real life, and I don't want to play a good guy in real life and a video game....

  6. Don't you have to re-grind all the same boring side quest in any mmo? Also the side quest are optional you don't have to do them.

Yea but the other MMORPGs don't make me listen to the same ****** dialogue every time. THey just give me the quest, I go kill the mobs, and I'm done. Immersion is great until you have to grind immersion. When it comes to grinding quests, which contrary to fanboi belief this game still has a lot of when it comes to alts, mindless and less immersion are better.

  7. So. Have good groups that you have to wait 5 hours for... or have mostly good groups, occasional turds, but get in and get the flashpoint done in a reasonable amount of time... I think the winner is obvious.

I don't know about you, but I have other things to do than stand around and spam /1 for 5 hours looking for a tank.

  8. If you like WoW and constantly say things like "well..in WoW imo, I like that that that and that better" then go back to WoW. Why do we want to hear on SWTOR FORUMS that you like another game better. Does it make you feel superior that YOU like another game better than US?

If you don't like story or rpg elements and just want to grind with some crazy head bopping music....this isn't your game...

If you want to rush to 50 and not experience great cinematic stories that follow through with you and your immersion...this isn't your game.

If you just space bar smash the dialogue and press 1 all the time to get lightside points...this isn't your game.

Don't come in here and say, "SWTOR...why you be so nasty..I just want to level..story..surprisingly not everyone wants. If you don't want story in an mmo WHY THE HEQ ARE YOU PLAYING A STORY DRIVEN MMORPG!?!!?!" OMG and then complaining about it on top of it?!!? Wth is wrong with you!?

If you don't like the game......don't play...simple as that. Period.

I love the game. I got a 6 month subscription and can't WAIT for the great updates that are coming to make this great game even more marvelous. Some people just don't have patience. Have patience, this is tell you. Have respect for the game you are on, and don't just come into a community to moan about everything and go "this is why wow is better" nobody GIVES A DAMN!"

TL;DR: If you are in the 99% of MMORPG players, this is not your game. ^He loves the game.

  9. Im hoping for some xpansion, if you like the storyline and dont like warzones you basically doing absolutelly nothing after lvl50

That cant be the long term goal of the game

This is an issue. If people are hoping for an expansion 20 days after release because there is no content....

  10. The voiced stories will maybe last you a month, then will get bored when your done with it.

Then you need to RE-Grind the same BORING side-quests to play a different story.

This. I see so many people claim there are 8 unique stories in this game. While there are 8 unique CLASS stories, the majority of the quests in this game are not class quests, and you will repeat 90% of all the content 4 times on each faction if you want to see each of the 8 different class stories.

I played in beta for about 6 months and I am dreadfully bored with them currently, as I have seen them all ~15 times. I'm guessing in 6 months, most others will feel the same.

Another option I think would be nice for them to add is the ability to turn cut scenes off in flashpoints. After you have gone through it 4-5 times and see all of the outcomes, it just becomes tedious to go through it again. Granted, you'd have to have a group of 4 players who all had them turned off to skip them, but eventually I think most people would turn them off.

  11. No. The game clearly has suffered because the voice acting had priority over everything else.

I agree. The voice acting is great, but the game design has greatly suffered. This does not feel like a 100 million dollar game because it isn't a 100 million dollar game... I think a lot more of the money went to voice acting/writing dialogue than most people think.

Now, they have to sustain that many more subscribers in order to continue the cost of development. While a normal MMO say might be able to operate on 200k subscribers per month to create content, SWTOR will need a lot more to create the same quality content with the voice acting (which also takes time). Granted those numbers are just examples.

I see it being an issue in the future and I see a lot of dialogue being reused. Not to mention about the 5th time through the dialogue all gets skipped because its repetitive and boring anyways.

  12. Next patch. We have a dev tracker. It helps :D

Not as much as a search feature would... like every other standard MMORPG out there...

I mean I buy the whole "it was running our data consumption up!" thing, but lets be real... if WoW can keep it, you better front the money or have a billion threads like this filling your forum.

  13. I have played Rift and TOR, I can tell you Rift launch was not any better.

Remember scrub, only 1-5% of people post on forums. All these hate threads and quitting threads only make up 1% or less. Everyone who is enjoying the game are playing.

See you in 2 years when TOR has set the normal for future MMO's.

Common misconception by fanboys. While I agree that the vast majority of people do not post on the forums, that does not mean all million or so are enjoying the game. It just means the majority of those who want to leave have already left without posting here on the forums. You'll see in a couple months. Have fun paying until then :D

  14. Why is it that every positive post on these forums has to sound like Bioware paid them to say it?

Also - the grind is just disguised in hopes that people like you will think it is not there.

Kill 45 of these for the bonus quest is still pretty grindy. Especially when Part 1 is 45, Part 2 is 45 and then part 3 is a boss. Thats 91 mobs you've just been coerced into grinding. Enjoy your "no grind MMO".

  15. HI GUYZ! I'm having so much fun in the game I just wanted to log out and go down there to the pit of sorrows on the forums and post my joyful review! Not that I kinda got bored of the game or anything for a minute... I mean whats not to love about listening to the same dialogue every class I play - nothing! WOO I love this game so much guyz, I'm just gonna keep playing it forever. I know its weird that I sound like Bioware paid me to say this, but for real, they didn't because I am just so in love with this game!

    Welp, back to the game!

    /sarcasm.
