  1. This is when you look into the old forums. Lets say about 1000 pages back. You read all the old forums about people complaining about nerfing Mercs/Commandos/Sorcerers/Sages. There is an actual entertainment value here. Its like watching re-runs of your favorite old sitcoms. It is amazing how many laughs you can still get from it.
  2. So tired of easymode in this game.

Wait!! There is a hardmode? Let me know what it is cause these MMOs have very little skill involved compared to FPSs. I've maxed every AC and there is no class that is hard. I think smash monkeys are very diffucult. Cause it is a melee class and when people kite you there is little chance to win. So a smashmonkey needs to outwit every ranged class when they kite. The only class that never beat me 1v1 was a sage/sorc. But with elecrtic binds and bubblestun, I bet you could beat me pretty easily.

But lets be constructive. The best way to kill them is to play as one. You will learn so many techniques on how people will kill you and learn it isn't an "easy mode" after all. You will also learn what abilities they have and their cooldowns. I had to because my I was getting wrecked Pre2.0 by them.

  3. I just hopped on my Commando again this weekend and I say they have some good burst now. Once when I played with my Smash Jug defending a node by myself, a commando came up to me. He used Electro net and grav round and a few other abilties and melted me in no time. I got him down to half health. I never lost a 1 V 1 that bad before. Not even close. I even used defensive abilities. That electro net is dirty. Concussion Charge too was another ability to get them off you. As far as snipers and sorcerers, it may be a paper beating scissors type deal. Pre 2.0 I used to leave WZ if I had 2 or 3 commandos/mercs. Now I believe the balance is pretty good. I see Commandos getting top DPS all the time. Even as healers they can be pretty good. I was beating out Scoundrals as top healers this weekend.
  4. What about the top 4 medal winners or something get the roll??

Oh I like this. Or how about each MVP vote you receive, you get a 12.5% chance of winning the roll? You receive 4 votes, you receive a 50% chance on the roll?

  5. Seems that PvE people get all the great crafting schematics and crafting materials from raids. The good idea fairy visited me today and thought that maybe, just maybe after each match the winning team can roll for an item that is won from that match. IE: crafting schematic, crafting material, mod, enhancement, or orange gear piece. Maybe the losing team can get something similar also but to a lesser degree. That may help keep people from quiting matches early. I understand we get comms. But I enjoy crafting and of course...
Bite it, chew it, spit it out if you like. Just trying to keep the interest in this game for many. Since we haven't gotten much from the PvP side which seems like eternity.
  6. I came back to the game in May and had 0 clue about the change in gear that happened since i left in March 2012. I belong to the group of people that check forums of the game i play atm, so i knew after i came back that my BM gear is obsolete but trust me, many people are coming back and many of them do not check forums so they have 0 idea that their gear is outdated. There may have been more info in game or some e-mail update or something like that.

When i came back i was really surprised to learn that BM gear is useless and any green PvE gear is better.

I assumed most people would have gotten Partisan already. Just taking longer than I thought to flush this old gear out. I just want to keep this thread bumped. Education is our biggest ally.

  7. Back in the day I would friendly buff other people I saw on the planet and sometimes I forgot that ones that were flagged for PvP would turn me into flagged. They fixed that now, but I would go into a warzone. When I left I was unflagged. I'm not sure if it was because I died or because of the time elapse, however I haven't tried it in a long time and maybe an easier fix than wait a long-time.
  8. I am actually potty trained, so you can eat breakfast with confidence although I would suggest staying away from hostility inducing drugs.

Well rng my chimes, I need crits to break even in your opinion. Are you a good rng or are are you a bad rng? Kits are currently 78,700 so if you would take time out from insulting me and redo the math, I think that still adds up to a loss even if you are a rng a ding kind of crafter.

By the way, "Time is money, friend". When you have the mats, you have the mats. When you create kits, you have to send you companions out to craft them. That is a lost opportunity cost and they could be generating revenue instead of crafting kits.

I will agree that Cybertech and Bio are better in that they provide less of a loss than Synth.

Sorry if you got butt hurt. But that wasn't my intent. Kits cost different on each server. I know, it is mind-blowing.

So I did the math. Crazy what college can do for you. And I came up with same results.

    Glad you agree with me.

  9. Hello, i am really new to SWTOR but i absolutely dig it the most so far. Awesome game. First 10 levels i thought "yeah this is pretty cool."

Then i made it off Hutta to the fleet and it blew my mind. There is so much to do!

The Crew Skills/Crafting system is very, very cool. But it's a bit overwhelming to me. After testing out several classes, i settled on the Imperial Agent/Operative as my main.

My question: what are good primary Crew Skills to assign Kaliyo that will be more beneficial to me? So far i just went with the ones she seems pre-specced for (Armstech, Underworld, and Scavenging). Should I just stick with those?

Related question: i made a Trooper/Vanguard for an alt after discovering Jennifer Hale does the voice acting. FemShep lives on! For that character i went with Armortech, Diplomacy, and...Scavenging as well IIRC. Good choices?

For the IA I figure Kaliyo can eventually make decent rifles and vibroblades? And the trooper, heavy armor. Are these solid plans?

To be honest i'm not exactly sure what the other crafting skills can make. And wondered if there were better combinations as well. Seems like scavenging is a must for arms and armor - all the recipes so far require mats obtained from it.

Thank you in advance for help/advice/suggestions. Much appreciated!

The fiirst question you need to ask yourself is. "What is your end status with this game as far as toons?" Are you going to have multiple alts? Or a few? Are you going to try to be competitive in the market by making profits? Or are you just having the crew skills to be a better PvPer/PvEer. As far as end game crew skills, Biochem seems to be a very popular choice. My agent also has Biochem solely because it is has great bouses. I currently have all 8 advance classes going and have at least one in each crew skills. If you plan on having multiple characters, here is a very popular guide from Mr. Bowser. I try to go off crit bonuses the most because I enjoy the extra crafting items. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=132015

  10. I personally have a Crew Skill for everything. I base my decision on which companions have the best crit for that crew skill. IE: Smuggler is Armstech. I have a gatherer toon too. My Shadow gathers ARCH, SCAV, and BIO. He's nice to have when farming with Stealth and Force Speed.

Overall the market changes weekly. What is hot and what is not. You need to read forums to get some tips. IE: PvP forums are exploding because of certain exploits by using non-PvP gear.

  11. Seems to be much concern about this in the forums. I have been taking your crits I think. I have been getting extremely lucky with Slicing crits with my sith warrior. Which doesn't even have a slicing bonus. I get frustrated sometimes with this game and the REing and crits. But sometimes I get a string of good luck. I think now I told you this I will have my string of bad luck.
  12. I am completely confused. Most of the tree you went up on infiltration requires Shadow Technique. I don't see where you get the DPS number you get from it. I see Balance as a possibility to get better DPS numbers if you are tanking.
  13. Love the Bolster theory. Not sure if I like how well it is has gone so far. Developers admit that PVP gear should reign supreme over other gear however it seems that there isn't anything like that going on so far. I do enjoy having orange juice today and apple juice tomorrow. Bolster means I don't have to go through a 3 month gear grind to be competitive with each toon then that gear becomes obsolete after I get it all. If I am feeling DPS I can be a sniper, if I feel like healing I can be a sorcerer, etc. I have all 8 advance classes maxed leveled out and for me to stay interested in this game I want to PvP with all of them. Cause variety is fun!!!!

To me the classes seem very balanced now and most people complaining about balance issues are ones that need to L2P.

Fact is 95% of these PvP forums are all whining threads, makes me read them less and less cause there is no constructive criticism.

Great job Bioware!!! Let's just tune the bolster system for a great overall product.

  14. Rage spec was OP before 2.0 now its SUPER OP. If you look at damage after WZ rage speced juggernauts are on the top in every game.

i can rape in warzones but its unfair and it dosent realy need skill... okay needs more skill than pyrotech powertechs but still so easy and dumb spec.

What class requires skill? Tell me cause MMO's are not much skill based at all. Play FPSs, now that is real skill. Rage did get nerfed with one less stack of shockwave. You can't use unstoppable with rage anymore. Other classes got buffed, which increases the nerf of the nerfed class. I notice warzones have more equal output amongst all classes.

  15. All weekend I played at level 55 and noticed my stats weren't as large. I was averaging about 300K DMG and 300K healing. I was messing with different specs and I have come to one conclusion.

    SORCERER= Powerful Healer

I think that my sorcerer can already put up decent DPS numbers without going up certain trees. I can last longer in WZs by healing myself. And in warzones it all about utility and survivability.

Still it seems through conversations other classes are frustrated about how hard it is to kill healing sorcerers. My heals are so much more powerful. With recent nerfs to smash monkeys and pyrotechs I feel there may be more sorcerers/sages out there.

  16. Sorcs are still the squishiest class out there, and first on everyone's hit list- a bit of immunity every 3 minutes didn't change that.

Every class has been deemed squishy. Except tanks. It has been discussed on the forums.

    http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=627099

I will soon be level 55 in the next couple of days, and I will see how much things have changed for sorcerers in higher PvP. I can tell you I played 10 matches last night and only lost once. It was all PUG and I barely died the entire time. This patch has brought many big nerfs on Juggs, Maras, and PTs, which means all other classes rose in power.

  17. In other words, Sorcs are not OP or the next FOTM.

Only time will tell. I have been able to 1 V 1 anyone now much more easily which I could have before. Overall in warzones I do survive longer. I die much less. Is it pre-1.2? No. But at anytime I 1 V 1. I can heal myself fully while their health drains away. It is very difficult to kill my sorcerer because of self heals. My friend plays as an assassin and still can not kill a healer sorc/sage

  18. I see many posts of people still complaining that their Sorc is still not usable. I am still PvPing in the 30-54 bracket without changing my gear out besides my old EWH gear and I have still put up gaudy numbers. I am mostly a healer with a little DPS on my tree. I don't see why people are complaining. This is just from one match I played last night. It is my average numbers for myself in Voidstar. Yes my TTK is quick like before, but if left alone I can do the team much with healing and DPS.

Based on my findings I truly believe that Sorcerers have become the next OP/FOTM class. I watched a Sage put up 1 MIL damage on Hypergate during 30-54 levels with the next highest damage at 500K. It seems that there is just one issue with people and their sorcerers. L2P
