  1. Can you please implement a smarter AoE targetting reticle? Make it so it can NOT be extended beyond its abilites maximum range. This would make passing the huttball up/down easier as well as all the other AoE abilities. Its really a very poorly done system right now since ANY tiny imperfection in the geography means you spend a stupid amount of time trying to line up your aoe ability.

    Thanks.

  2. Is there any way you guys might code the AoE targetting reticle to not be able to extend beyond its maximum range? This would be particularly useful when try to pass the HuttBall Up a ledge. It does not seem like a very difficult change as a couple other mmo's coded it after launch. It really makes no sense why my character would try to fire a mortar volley farther than its maximum effective range just to have the reticle poof and I have to re-click the ability and re-target.

    Thanks for your input.

  3. Its a must. BW will not be making enough money to pay for the servers they have now after D3 comes out anyway. PvP ques will be hours longer then they can be now. I think they will lose more people over empty servers then they will over naming issues.
  4. I'm curious how/why you are so certain it is not a complicated fix or how you could even project how much it would cost to fix it. Unless you are a core member of the dev team, I highly doubt you could possibly be so certain, unless you have some sort of crystal ball that shows you the solutions to every problem in existence. But please, enlighten those of us who don't have the fine details of SWTOR systems design and implementation.

Really, I'm not just saying it to be sarcastic (though I might have been a little), I'm curious how you can know with certainty that it is a simple $7.34 fix. If you do, it would strengthen your argument if you shared that knowledge. If you don't, then you should consider being more honest about it and not trying to sound like you know better than the people who actually know how it works. Just saying.

Sarcasm. However, putting a distance limiter on an aoe reticle is in the same lines of reducing the area of effect of the abilities damage. And they are more than happy to shrink down the area of an area of effect like they did to mortar volley.

  5. Actually, surprisingly, I hadn't thought about this. If I understand you right, you mean that if you place your cursor further than the maximum range and click, it still fires the ability at the maximum range in the direction to are pointing at, right? That would be an excellent change. It is rather frustrating trying to target at times with AoE abilities. I'd think they would implement this at some point, though I wouldn't be so certain it is an easy change, it depends on how their system is set up. It could possibly be a very complex change that has wide reaching effects if not handled very carefully.

Thats basically what Im talking about. Also, the cursor/reticle "flows" over the terrain way more smoothly, not getting stuck and hung uip on every two inch change in elevation. I assure you, its NOT a complicated design fix. I would not be a bit heart broken if they stopped forcing huge wads of cash into voice actors wallets and instead, re-directed $7.34 worth of funds into fixing the aoe target reticle.

  6. Make it so you can not extend the reticle for aoe abilites AND the Huttball beyond its maximum range. It can be done. They did it in WAR asap after launch. If you want to log into my WAR account to see how it work Ill hook you up Devs. But its absolute ******** trying to use an aoe ability over rough terrain. Try passing the ball up during a match and you spend more time trying to find the sweet spot to pass it without it being out of range then you do playing.

Should be a pretty easy fix. Make it happen.

  7. Only an idiot would buy one. You have to level up biochem anyway so while your doing that, you should be REing your blues as you go for the mats and to get the reusable version. Maybe you have a server full of idiot biochemists? =)

I can selling one for 50k to someone who bought it on accident without reading the biochem requirement.

  8. Just turned 50 and Im gearing up for a pvp tank set of gear (battle master supercoolmando) and what? What gear do I get to be a powerhouse PvE tank?

Im being told you can kinda use one set for both but Im not a real big fan of half assing. I want the best of both and that means Im packing 2 sets of gear.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  9. You have done the same thing every other player that didnt spend weeks researching the game before actually playing it. This game has the absolute worst, most worthless and useless information to help you get started on crafting. They have actually forced you to go to other websites and figure out crafting instead of having any useful crafting info included in the game.

My advice, because I did the same thing you did, is to go look up some crafting guides. All the crafts have optimum gathering counter parts to them. IE: Biochem, uses bioanalysis and diplomacy (or another gathering skill that gives you medical supplies as a reward)

  10. Hopefully they will add "sort by Usable and Class" options. And while they are in there something to help gear out the companions too. It gets tedious to look and then have to cycle thru the windows (up/down/off/on) to see: Does this do anything for Qyzen? <G>

But the tips on looking for Orange Gear are a start for me! Thanks

There is a button in the options someplace that allows you to compare items for your companion also. Meaning, when you hover over an item, your companions and your own corresponding item pops up at the same time to compare.

I still have no idea what all the comms are for either. I have pretty much stuck to upgrading via pvp vendor and anything that might drop or I can buy on the GTN. Comms seem pretty worthless to me, especially since you cant trade up with them.

I have heard people use comms to gear up twinks though. Not sure if that works.
