  1. you clowns are funny, just because you see some pew pew on norse you think its DDoS. That ish has been happening all day and I know the servers haven't been down all day because i was logged on earlier. most of the attacks you see on norse are going to honeypots/nets. man you people are dumb.
  2. If we as consumers just sit back and accept anything that is given to us we will continue to be fed poop. The excuse of "It's the only Star Wars MMO out there so we have to take it in the butt no matter what kind of game they provide." is asinine. As gamers/consumers we SHOULD be voicing our opinions about wanting a better game or it will never be made. I really hate EA got the rights to make all Star Wars games because the gaming world is changing with the success of crowdfunding. Unfortunately we won't get to see some new indie developer make a totally awesome Star Wars game through crowdfunding.

I would rather there be no Star Wars MMO than what this game is turning into.

  3. As someone who sells quite a bit on the GTN it would be super useful to see what the vendor price of an item is when hovering over it. There have been many instances when attempting to list things on the GTN and noticing how low the price of something is compared to its default list price (I'm looking at you Ice Scabbler Jerky). When I notice this disparity I put that item(s) to the side then I have to run to a vendor to see if the vendor price is better. Just show the vendor price when you hover to make things much easier for those of us listing things on the GTN.
  4. Hello all,

I've been an on/off player since launch (more off than on). When playing at launch I thought the mail message we would get from selling an item telling us that we sold something and would get the money in 1 hour was a complete waste. I had hoped it would have changed. Now that I see myself playing again on a regular basis I notice we get these mail messages sometimes and sometimes we don't. What is the point of these messages? All they do is create useless mail spam, they are as bad or worse than the credit farmers sometimes.

  5. I just unsubbed for the following reasons which I did put in the comment section when you go to unsub.

    1. The stringent character transfer system. I wanted to consolidate my characters once transfers came out but I'm not able to and it's pretty dumb if you ask me. My very first character I created and got to max level was on a PVE server. I quit that server because it was dead and re-rolled on a RPPVE server that ended up getting transferred to Ebon Hawk. I want to bring my characters from my old PVE server (Juyo) to Ebon Hawk but the only place I can move them is Canderous Ordo. I really like Ebon Hawk and I want all my characters there. They really screwed the pooch on opening up too many servers then taking too long to consolidate/transfer them, then made the transfer options too strict.

    2. Lack of world PVP scenarios. Yes I rolled on PVE servers but I love big PVP battlegrounds. Ilum turned out to be a massive Charlie Foxtrot and there doesn't seem to be anything coming down the pipe.

    3. Lack of game world music. I love Star Wars music big time. I was so pumped when they had the Friday update just talking about the music. After leveling several classes to 50 and hearing my speeder more then the game world music that is a big problem.

    4. Lack of things to do at max level. Not everyone wants to run dungeons, raid or dailies at max level. There needs to be something to do other then the basic game. I hate to say it but WoW does a great job of having events and giving people something to do other then dailies and gear grinding at max level.

    5. The announcement of F2P. Whenever I look at a MMO that comes out P2P and switches to F2P in under a year it sets off a lot of red flags that the ship is sinking and sinking fast. It seems like it's a last ditch effort to try and cash in on as much as they can before they shut the game down.

This is all coming from a massive SW fan, an owner of almost every BW game, a CE owner who followed the game before it had a website and had good hopes for the game. When the release date of this game was announced last year I immediately cancelled my WoW sub because I was going to play this game and not think twice about WoW. I have been extremely disappointed with the way things turned out. If the game gets better and entertains me then I will not have a problem re-subbing but right now it doesn't so I bid my adieu

  6. Obvious non CE owner is obvious. :D

obvious non-reader of posts is obvious. you would know i bought 2 copies of the CE because i mention it further down the page.

i just get tired of seeing these lame threads of people complaining about crap because of expectations they created for themselves so now their panties are in a bunch because things are not how they ASSUMED they would be.

  7. I've transferred my characters from RP-PVE to RP-PVE but I also have some characters on a PVE server that I would like to transfer to the RP-PVE server as well. why is this not an option? it shouldn't be that big of a deal. They really need to open that up because the PVE server is dead and I would like to have all my characters on the same server at this point.

    DO IT BW.......DOOOO EEEEET!!!!

  8. If you think it's worth $150 then I would question your perception skills. I'm not saying anyone is fooled just that now we seem to accept $150 is the norm for a CE, to many people that's an obscene amount of money particularly for a game.

If you don't think the TOR CE is worth the $150 why did you buy two of them? When you look at the total of everything that comes with the purchase and don't think it's worth it i'm just speechless to be honest.

    The game - $50

Statue - $50 (and that's low balling, the cheapest thing on gentle giant is $80)

    Authenticator - $5

Just those 3 things there account for 2/3's of the price or possibly more, and you still have all the other stuff.

    Unique book

    soundtrack

    and all the digital items

This has been one of the best CE's I've seen in a while. The only one that I think is a better value was the Witcher 2 CE. That thing came with a bunch of stuff and was cheaper.

When you say "now WE seem to accept $150 as the norm" who is the WE? because you definitely don't speak for me. Yes other companies are trying to hop on the $100 plus CE price but I don't find what they offer as something I would pay that money for. prime example was the D3 CE. The crap they were giving away was not of value to me so i saw no need to pay for it so i bought the regular version.

this just goes back to value being subjective to the individual. what you find valuable is not the same that i find valuable. to each his own. we'll have to agree to disagree

  9. Totally serious, especially as they are practically half the price of the ToR one. Even though I bought 2 of the ToR CE's (one for a friend), I consider them extremely overpriced for what you get. I can't believe we have been fooled into thinking $150 for a CE is the new norm.

How is anyone fooled? you know what you are getting when you buy it? it's not like they spring the price on you after you purchase and if you can't see why it costs 150 vs what a WoW CE costs then your perception skills are not the best.

  10. I bought 2 of them so I knew exactly what I was getting. However, I don't think I would ever describe it as a 'bargain'. It's funny how people thesedays have convinced themselves paying $150 for a CE is good value. WoW did far better CE's and for significantly lower prices. The trend seems to be continuing with the CE for GW2 being well over $100 again, although in that case you never have to pay subscription fees so it could be said to be better value.

You can't really be serious can you? If you consider WoW CE's to be far better you have low standard's.

The WoW CE's have all been pretty much the same:

    Art Book

    Map or Mousepad

    in-game pet

    sound track

    behind the scenes dvd

You're saying that stuff is better than what came in the TOR CE???? This can't be real life.

  11. Go to your room!

    NOW!!

While I didn't buy this edition, I think had I spent that amount on it, I would also be terribly dissapointed in myself for having done so. It's certainly not worth the money.

Well i bought the CE for me and my wife. These threads have been coming out almost every week since the game has been out. BW has never stated specifically how often the CE store would be updated. Everyone that complains created an expectation and assumed it would happen the way THEY wanted it to happen and had no clue what BW's priorities are. Well we all know what happens when you assume.

It's obvious the CE vendor is on the bottom of the list because they have to satisfy the majority of players and not worry about updating 1 vendor with fluff items that is only accessible by a minority of players. As a player that wants the game to succeed i would rather BW focus on adding more features and content to make the game better as a whole. The players that complain about the store not getting updated just show how selfish they are and truly do not care about the game improving.

BTW this CE has more stuff in it than 95% of games to include the mighty WoW, yet i've never heard so much complaining about how they feel gipped by getting the CE.

As for your comment that i bolded above what a person finds "worth the money" is subjective to the individual. I feel buying the CE was totally worth the money and so does my wife. if it's not "worth" it to you then that's your opinion and personally your opinion doesn't mean squat to me.

now YOU may go to your room.

  12. My wife and I are quite disappointed with the sound and music in this game. I remember the update that commented on just the music for this game and I was hella pumped. After playing beta and since early access this has to be one of the biggest disappointments for me towards this game. Hearing the sound of your speeder more than epic Star Wars music is a serious let down.

Just last week my wife was playing FF13-2 and I could just sit there and listen to the music as she played, it was awesome. Sorry to bring up WOW but we started playing that again and the music there is quite well done as well. Granted some zones the music isn't as good as others but overall I think Blizz did a very decent job with the background music.

It saddens me greatly that the music for this game has been so lack luster. Maybe 1.4 should focus on the sounds of TOR and get some dang music in the game when you are out questing on the planets.

  13. pretty much this boils down to you not being happy that they didn't update the store "regularly" enough for you in the last 6 months. the thing is no one from BW made any statements about how regularly the store would get updated. just because your expectations exceeded theirs does not mean you're entitled to anything. but lets look at what has gotten updated, we've had:

    New Flashpoints

    New Operations

    New Warzone

    Legacy System Implementation

    Server Transfers

    Guild Banks

    New Daily Quests

    A Live game wide event

    Coming very soon:

    Server wide LFG tool

    Ranked Warzones

    More Legacy options

Adding augment slots to custom gear

    Scaling social gear

and many other quality of life things

It seems like the BW devs have their priorities straight. last time i checked Content > Fluff items on 1 vendor.

If I were you i would cancel my sub to show them just who is boss around here.

  14. You complain about them not updating the CE vendor because they said they would, but the reality is they never said when exactly they would update the vendor post release. so as long as the game is running they still have time to add stuff. you can complain all you want but they have not broke any agreements or lied. your expectations is what is leading to your anger and disappointment.

so the reality is you need to be mad at yourself for making yourself get your panties in a bunch.

yes I own a CE and am quite happy with everything and look forward to when they add stuff to the vendor, but i would rather them focus on adding more features to the game than some fluff items on a vendor that can be added easily at a later date.

  15. WRONG! It is exactly BW's fault. There are two ways to do a thing, the right way and the wrong way. BW didn't exactly choose to do the server transfers the right way. We now have many more na'mes and nâmes than we do names on servers now because those "names" are taken by people who stopped playing or just signed up for the free weekend or decided to take a "name" on all servers and never played them. So the alternative is to have names243 or naemies or na'mes or nâmes. The extent of this problem is 100% biowares fault and the only people not upset by this are the ones that can still call their characters by their "name".

Seriously, put blame exactly where it belongs otherwise this problem will not get fixed if they feel they can get a free pass on their mistake. This isn't exactly a new problem and people working for other companies have thought up of solutions to this problem. It is their job to know how to deal with this in a professional and competent manner.

i put blame exactly where it belongs. the players were not forced to transfer and if keeping a name is that important then they shouldn't have transferred. i had to change a couple names and it was no big deal. i didn't look up alt codes and other crap just to change the way a letter looks. i changed the name altogether because i'm not some self absorbed wannabe special snowflake who thinks i should be the only person with a specific name assigned to a bunch of pixels. i prefer to use common sense when making decisions not my own self interest.

the majority of people think the transfers were great. i see it on chat every time i log in. no player on these forums has the proper amount of information to say if the transfers were done right or wrong. they were done with respect to BW's end goal. to sit here and presume you know more than they do shows your arrogance and how ignorant you truly are.

  16. Yes, it is BioWare's fault that they ****ed up on the servers and instead of quickly adding cross server features did nothing so that almost every server died. Now people are doing what they can to hold on to their characters identity.

Mind you, this isn't the first MMO by EA where I have had this problem.

X-server features would have not solved the problem of lack of community. if they would have implemented x-server stuff this community would be worse than WOW's in a month's time.

if your character's "identity" is defined by the name i feel bad for you son. i thought it was the player behind the character that defined the identity?

  17. I don't feel like I have a special situation. I know there are others who find themselves in the same circumstances. They've even made mention on other threads, even as an aside. Just because I'm unhappy with a decision they made in this game doesn't mean I'm going to throw a fit and unsubscribe. I love this game. I want to see it get better. The intent behind this thread is to get some constructive feedback.

This works both ways. There are players who do things differently. This game wouldn't be much of an MMO if we were all forced to play the same way.

An MMO is built by its community. Yes, it's too late for them to rethink this. But there are still other features they have yet to implement that they will eventually. So players voicing their opinions in a constructive way regarding problems with one thing, could very well help eliminate problems in the future.

well here's the thing with constructive feedback. as players we have no access to the data or metrics that BW is seeing on the back end and their end goal is. they made their decisions based on that info. hard choices had to be made so they could accomplish their end goal.

as players we sit and bytch about how "we" thought it should have been done but the reality is we aren't qualified to make any of these decisions because we don't see what the developers see. as far as a transfer service it was amazing. I transferred 4 toons from 2 servers to 1 server and it was seamless and effortless. if there were actual issues that you experienced with the transfer then feedback should be given to that. But none of us are qualified to give feedback on the decisions that led up to the transfers.

  18. i agree completely. I never played EQ but SWG was my first MMO and it holds a special place in my heart. I still talk to friends that I made in that game. The biggest issue with the MMO community in this day and age is one that was created and fostered by the popularity of WOW. Prior to the x-server LFG tool the community in WOW was pretty decent. Once the x-server stuff happened it made everyone an anonymous cog in the group just to get the dungeon completed. Which allowed people to be d-bags because the likelihood of you seeing them again was and extremely low percentage.

I love that BW is staying away from X-server stuff at the moment. Since the LFG tool is only going to be for your server I think it's going to facilitate the community on each server. I look forward to the new server transfer/merge, the larger population cap and the server LFG tool coming.

  19. there's a bunch of other ways they could have handled transfers/merges but this is the way they are handling it. either accept it and transfer your toons or don't and sit on a dead server then eventually unsub.

it amazes me that people feel like they are sooooo special that their situation is "different" or more important than anyone else. no one in this server transfer/merge is a special snowflake. you have 2 choices accept it and drive on or don't and unsub. whining/complaining/expressing how they "should" have done it doesn't matter or change anything.
