  1. Yup thats true, such stuff is moved here so that people dont see how bad the situation is.

There is no conspiracy behind the current mass exodus. People hate what swtor has become and are leaving. Local moderators, being as cheap as they are, cannot do anything against something that is affecting people directly in-game and causing them to leave, so they'll keep leaving, regardless of how vigilant these topic-movers are and how fast they "respond".

  2. Another one here moving on. It's not so much the rng, as that will continue to be tweaked. It's more along the lines of no new content in the last two years. Once through the storyline is enough for me. And these watered down HM's, known as Uprisings are nothing short of a joke. ThIs is what happens when you've been here since launch though.

For new players just now joining or just trying it out, you won't be disappointed, there is a lot of content in this game that will keep you busy for atleast a year, depending of course on how offen you play, and assuming the game survives this version of SWG's NGE. Only time will tell.

I tend to think with veterans mostly gone, there's too few if any to actually show these new people around, teach and explain. What you call "a lot of content" is too likely to end up being just the solo or / and soloable stuff only for them, they'll do the stories, watch the cutscenes, i,e. play the single player part and leave. And frankly, there's only a couple of really interesting stories (imperial agent, jedi knight, smuggler). Overall swtor, as a single player rpg, looks and feels too outdated. No new decent group content in a long time plus not that much epicness overall story-wise. I hope they (at BWA / EA) are making final prepartions to shut it down and hopefully introduce something fresh.

  3. 14 days of subscription left, I might try ti run thought the 5.0 story once more though. The last / only good thing about swtor was its story but I just can't bring myself to do the newest chapters (let alone the 4.0 ones) or the HK-55 bonus chapter again, once finished them on my main. Bored, bored, bored...

To hell with the eternal grinding, to hell with this fiercely anti-alt system which is nothing but a cheap excuse to force people to stay subscribed and do the old and very old crap over and over, to hell with rng x rng x rng x rng....and effin drop chances from ops bosses where it used to be guaranteed drops. I suppose every mmo out there recycles content to a certain extent to swtor has recycled itself to death. At least people seem to be waking up this time and simply walking away from this BS. About time that reliance on the fact that it's star wars seems to be finally failing this atrocious mix of overconfidence and incompetence which is so strong with BW Austin.

  4. For all anyone knows, this is a sign new Flashpoints/Operations are going to be worked on. A fresh face to give it a fresh impetus. Way to assume the worst.

    I like your optimism :mon_trap:

Personaly, I prefer to think that, given the almost a year old news that Mass Effect Andromeda was basically finished and the fact that why would a Mass Effect team require his specific ops and flashpoints designing skills, BW seems to be working on a new mmo, most likely mass effect mmo. So many signs (starting from the 2018 expertise "easter egg") and opinions show that swtor has about 2 years left of active online. Well, signs and opinions are all we have, BW surely can't afford to announce the year 2018 as the last swtor year, would be very bad for business. Swtor 2, probably...but this news allows to think that it's more probably mass effect mmo.

They have this amazing sci-fi mass effect universe, they're not bound by any licence or lore restrictions, the possibility of it was mentioned by BW representatives officially in interviews (and each time they said it's a great idea with tons of potential, never anything like "wouldn't work, mass effect is single player experience only etc...). Well, I'd be glad to see all the experience and lessons learned from swtor implemented in mass effect mmo

  5. I was about to stop being a sub too when they neutralized the effectiveness of companions and thus made the solo gameplay experience essentially miserable, however, they more or less corrected that mistake. But as for the December rewards, people have gone too far with whining and overreacting. Take BW for what it is, you know they tend to overhype, just like any other game developer (remember the hype about battlefront and what shallow dull restricted in any possible way game it turned out to be?)

I knew about the stream and decided to just check it out and see, without being overexcited or jumping with impatience, and I found the rewards quite good. In fact, it's an actual evolution from being simply not limited in gameplay options and very occasionally getting a lil' something like a mount + pet combo once/twice a year, as it was before. Subscribers only rewards it's a huge step forward.

  6. I'd probably enjoy it more if I didn't die all the fracking time. << But I guess I just gotta play more.

If you think you like it. go ahead, otherwise don't waste time. I recall feeling something similar in battlefield hardline beta. Insanely unbalanced guns and cheaters-infested since beta day 1, played some hours and went back to battlefield 4, never regretted :)

  7. May be good for a guild...But I mean the personal Conquest-mission, not to conquest a planet.

It might be more fun if we could use our personal ships or get some kinda legacy ship that would allow us to envade planets and get conquests buffs of our choices. When every player (not selected vip's aka officers) is free to decide where their legacy ship is parked, for how long and how and in which manner it's decorated, probably it'll be more interesting.

  8. People shouldn't be so worried about the new xpac and "losing" companions, many of them are coming back and also realize that BW won't dump on everybody who's spent time trying to get their affection maxed out. Just do the xpac on one character and see what its like before saying you don't want to take part in it. That doesn't make any sense.

"Many" is not good enough unless you'll be able to at least choose which ones will fill the available companion slots in your crew (and that appears to be already pre-filled with Lana, Marrr and so on). Good for you if, say, Vette was your favourite companion and it'd be all the same to you whether she's your companion or just exists somwehere in the game as a npc. But a cutscene guest apperance as a comeback is not acceptable at all for the OP and many other players.

  9. You will still have companions. They're not removing them completely. So you will still be able to do that, granted if they don't change crafting that is. lol

You really totally don't get it, do you? The difference between having your fave companion (buddy or romanced one) side by side in your squad and a [bitter] realization that they're somewhere there in the game and can be met and interacted with at some point in one or two of the chapters but once dialogues are finished and cutscenes watched, they're gone.

Like someone else said in another thread, I also happen to like Corso Riggs and I refuse to participate in this Outlander bull**** if it costs me my vanilla swtor companions. Sure will use my sub's 1 insta level 65 to watch the story then unsub and resub later to watch the remaining chapters. If BW is cool with losing a yet another segment of their sub's base by converting people's fave companions into unrecruitable npc's that will do ocasional cameos, so be it. I'd like to check out what it's like to have Theron or Lana or Marr as companions but not at the expense of Corso or Torian or Nadia or even Skadge

  10. I leveled a number of characters to 60 without being "forced" to do Forged Alliances or ever stepping foot on Rishi. I highly doubt they will "force" us to do KOTFE just to get to lvl 65.

Well that would seem like the best workaround at the moment although it feels so wrong that it has come to this. So many people looking for a way to keep current class companions as companions and not get stuck at level 60. Well, BW did piss off pvp-ers long ago, high-end pve-ers are gonna find themselves on a diet in 4.0, was it just a matter of time when BW would come up with a way to anger single-player story lovers?

  11. All i know is if i loose my favorite companions or dont even get the chance to recruit them, its the end of SWTOR for me...

Same, I'm leveling a "test" toon for this purpose and if I discover that I can't get all old class specific companions + some new (not 1-2 old that BW chose for me plus some new that everyone else gets regardless of class and faction), I'll leave my main toons in "pre 4.0" state by not launching the expansion and leave the game as well.

I'd like to get Theron or Marr but if it means that, let's say, my juggernaugt toon will only get Vette and Jaessa or only Jaessa and (killable) Quinn and then the new standard, shared by all classes, list (Lana, Theron, Marr...), f*ck it. It was mean enough how BW teased us with Kaidan / Ashley at the very beginning of ME2 and then again for a couple of minutes at some point and that was it. And those were fan faves. Really don't want that sh*t again.

  12. Theron needs to fall out of an airlock along with corso. Scourge, rusk, that creepy furball the Sith warrior gets, the bug guy the agent gets, and that bone faced nontalking last companion the inquisitors get. If those companions and theron all died I'd be fairly happy.

    Cheap trolling

  13. Im not speaking for them but i rather think they quit because game was too easy for them.

More than 12 months without any challenge to overcome. Progression guilds need challenges, without it they die. Simple as that. So they quit. Only normal.

Some have fun trying to overcome difficulty. If the game doesnt give that to them they will look elsewhere.

Oh, absolutely! And good riddance to them, may they take their vanity and elitism to whatever other mmo they go to or return to.

  14. I am sorry you had a bad experience with your guild, but your personal experience does not equate to every player in a guild that runs operations being some sort of elitist bulling prima donna *****.

I've been in mostly medium sized 'raiding' guilds both in other games and here, and I've never personally been in one that comes close to how you describe even though the guilds have raided everything from the hardest content pushing for server firsts to simply running random SMs each week with a casual group.

Then again, I don't just join any guild simply to join one - I look to find a guild that has players similar to me, that is someone who enjoys multiple aspects of the game AND like to raid in a cooperative and team based manner.

And while I agree that guilds like Zorz who put in 100s of hours against content both on the PTS and on live just to get 'world first' are a VERY small 1% type minority, I don't believe most guilds which include running operations as part of their ongoing activities are a such a minority.

If they were, there wouldn't be anyone around to express concerns about the lack of new Ops content in KotFE because as you yourself stated, these 1% players left months ago.

They're all prima-donna's, it's just sizes of ego's and attitudes and levels of arrogance differ. Tried different servers and different guilds, raiding cliques are the same, whether they're already there when you join a guild or as soon as they form. In my experience, either a guild has already progressed some through current hm's, which they proudly mention in tneir ad, or they intend to, and when they start, here it comes again.

I didn't say these 1% had left months ago. I said if they leave they won't be missed at all, because in addition to their striking egocentric vanity they also happen to be very loud on forums, reddit, creating an illusion that they're many. Thank god in this case BW relies on metrics and statistic data, not on forum vocalness. They (BW) also didn't say no to new raids, however if 4.0 will have this effect of cleansing shower that will take away at least some of this hi-end pve *****-hole-ness, it'd be for the better.

Don't see any problem if these independent, very, very small in numbers but extremely vocal and demanding for content cells of pve elitism will cease to exist or move to wow or wildstar, where they apparently belong.

  15. Reality is simple.

BW decided to wipe the entire "hardcore" PvE community out of the game and probably the 80% of semi-hardcore with them.

Probably they think they will return for "5.0". Some will, some not.

Story fans think it's not a problem because we are the 1%. It can actually be true. We will see.

IMO 4.0 is just some youtube cutscenes. I rather play offline rpg for that....

6 days of sub left for me.

In most cases these hardcore and semi-hardcore pve-ers act like totally indepedent, arrogant, vip premium de luxe clique(s) so full of themselves and so looking down on the rest of their guild "crowd" that it's almost sick.

In one of the guilds I was they even set invisibility rules for the guildbank. Each raiding "sub-guild" had their guildbank tab only visible and accessible by themselves. I wondered why officers and rl-s didn't say, to quote Styrak from S&V, "you are nothing" to the masses each time they logged in (and yet they kept recruting daily, never really looking for new raiding members (all hm spots were forever taken) and hardly ever talking to anyone but the members of the supreme raiding club)

They're too vain to just keep it a 8 raiding people guild, they need others to show off to or in worst cases just cruise around fleet in nim mounts and dread master masks, desperately attention-whoring. I would believe there are some "true" pve-ers but when the so-called # 1 progression guild Zorz quit once they discovered that the Ziost WB dropped mainhands better than Revan HM and thus proving how much, at the end of the day, they cared about stats and being progression and stats-wise ahead of everyone else...

These people are never happy, never pleased, always whine and complain. And let's not forget that it's EA after all, meaning that developing content for this 1% of hypocrite, arrogant vanity fair doesn't make much sense commercially. If they indeed do flush themselves out of the game, they won't be missed at all.

  16. Here's a few things that I'm wondering about:

1: What happens to their equipment? Is that just dumped in our (maby already full) inventory or do they keep it? (thus looking the way we are used to in our gameplay, including customization)

Btw it might be a good idea to strip companions of all cool looking / expensive / rare gear right before the expansion, just to be safe.

  17. If I lose affection rating or companion's gear sets, I'll probably unsub.

Same. I have 8 companions on every character, each companion with full affection, some nice outfits (including original pre 2.0 sets), my fave ones are well geared, I don't quite understand why the hell I should wake up on that October day and realize that I'm only left with the ship droid and, probably, Treek. In an entirely personal experience as these chapters are going to be, companions do matter. And losing "fixed" sets of class companions not because I chose to fire Quinn or Xalek or Rush but because the game will immediately take them away once I step into the new expansion, it just sucks.

I hope they're not going to do it like in Mass Effect 2 where you also sort of wake up and re-recruit some old companions, almost but not all of them (excluding Kaidan / Ashley, the fave squad members of many and another fan favorite, Liara, only joins for one DLC mission). If it's something like this, I don't like it already

  18. Welcome to the thread Tashia!

I don't even want to think about what Doc is capable of while my JK is frozen. So help me, if he does the unthinkable my girl will go darkside on his butt.

Doc could find a way to "revive" that part of Scourge and Scourge, being so, so grateful to Doc...you can guess the rest :rak_03: Is that what you mean?

  19. I like you. :jawa_biggrin:

I don't want to kill Lana. I just don't have any characters who are stuck on her. I think she's interesting and likable but I can't find a good character to romance with her. Theron seems to need someone, which is an attractive quality. Lana doesn't particularly need anyone. She's independent in a cold sort of way. Though I have to give her credit, at least at the end of Ziost, you can get a "my love" out of her, which is 1000% better than Theron's "I'll call you". Feh.

    Likewise

Yeah, Theron seems to be in the process of figuring out (or coming to terms with) the fact that he actually needs someone and when he's ready you kinda wanna be there :D And Lana, unless we'll be faced with some sort of Kaidan / Ashley choice, might get an invitation to the wedding, but that's it :rak_05:

  20. You will only be allowed to maim, bend, spindle, crush, kill, laminate, and mutilate Lana -- the hottest blonde Sith in the game this side of Zash -- if we can do the same with Theron. Like force-pulling his cybernetic implants slowly out of his face. :p

It's a man's world of double standards you're living in, so no

  21. THIS! This made me so mad! My Jedi just wanted to talk to him, no agenda except to be there for him when he was in a really low place, but nooooo, he chooses to wander off and brood. I mean, it's totally in character for Theron since the man is clueless on how to form relationships with other sentients, but dang, it hurt.

The more I think about it, the more I think Theron has to be in the expansion in a way that's just as big as Lana and they're just not saying anything. I mean, they wouldn't cheat his fans like that, would they? Or drop a character they've been building up for years? Then again, not everyone writes things that make sense.

Lol I can already see a secret bonus sub-chapter: Theron Shan vs commitments

  22. But it was a most sublime moment in the bushes, he even said so. And he said he could be persuaded another time...though personally I think it's his turn to do the persuading. I could stand to be charmed a little bit. :D

Another time...yeah..."I'll call you back" lol Oh crap so here's why he's missing on the future companion list? Got what he wanted and wham bam thank you ma'am :D

  23. Can we just cling to Theron after Ziost? :D

How are you going to cling to him if he didn't even wanna have a cup of coffee / glass of wine after Ziost, despite the f@ck in the bushes on Yavin :rak_02: Typical man :D
