  1. Set bonuses have been bothering me forever. Why not just have individual gear pieces that add an ability or effect? I'd like to buy a wrist piece equippable by any character that adds a flamer. Or a headpiece that adds an eye laser. Or boots that boost my alacrity.

I'm starting to drift away from SWTOR which hurts because I love Star Wars just not this game. The overall mechanics have never felt right for the Star Wars IP. This is more to the devs so I probably won't be responding to any replies to anyone who feels differently.

If you do enjoy the current style of play, this isn't a jab at you, just stating my take on it. It's taken me many years to realize I only give SWTOR money because I love Star Wars and not because I like this product.

  2. Could we get a new set of schematics to make temporary droid companions and upgrade components? They would be destructible in combat but each type could fill a singular trinity role. Then you could have green, blue, and purple versions.
  3. So I was looking through all the suggestions and thought, "Wow. Wouldn't it be great if we had a new holiday event added to the schedule?" I mean forget about adding weapons to outfit designer, a new class, or doing something with class ship missions just for a second. How about a new holiday event? Forget about the hood toggle, Hoth strongholds, new dailies/heroics. Just for a second. How about a new periodic event thrown in with Rakghoul, Gree, and Bounty Week? Except this one is based around a holiday feast.
  4. I think the big problem is that sub rewards of Shae caliber are too scarce. Not saying they should bring Shae back but similar sub rewards or at least good ones every so often would be nice. A free pet or a reskinned mount don't cut it when they were giving out Shae Vizla in the past.

I have Shae but I'm not so into the exclusivity of sub rewards. I place more value on the things you earn by playing the game. I mentioned Master Ranos earlier because I'd like the DvL event to come back. I don't want to just be handed Ranos. I'd like a shot at getting that dvl bike too. Getting rewards from quests and achievements has always been my favorite.

  5. Could we get a 3rd advanced class that allows us to pick between all the abilities of the two normal advanced classes? Or just add a fourth discipline that allows us to swap some abilities between adv classes.

After playing for many years I'd really like to make my own character instead of playing a template or archetype.

  6. I agree. What bothers me most is how they don't feel like we deserve an explanation for why they constantly remove items that players enjoy. I feels more and more like a ploy to make you buy from the cartel market.

If they would just concentrate on making gameplay really good and filling the worldspace with enjoyable stuff subs would far surpass cm sales. Or they could sell ops passes like people have been begging for for years. They insist on forcing gameplay down such a narrow corridor it's really disheartening.

  7. I think it would be a good thing if the devs imported more sounds, animations, outfits, and mounts directly from existing franchise material. For example all the static speeders sitting around on Tatooine look really good, better than much of the cm stuff imo. Blaster sounds are for the most part terrible with a handful of exceptions.

Just take as much stuff from Lucasfilm as you can get away with please. If not, try to replicate it. As a decades long star wars fan I get put off by too much creative license. Just do what worked in all the other media. Music too.

I keep hoping one day there will be new, better animations for the classes. Some of it looks outright lame and other moves just look like utter nonsense. Like for example use motion capture of some martial artists for saberstaff combat. I really don't like what consulars do lol. Other SW games have great looking, realistic movements in the animations while swtor looks.... I don't even know. The scoundrel could use some Han Solo-esque flair to the movements. Instead its just kind of a half hearted point and shoot. Make Star Wars great again? Just my personal opinion.

  8. Unfortunately, due to the fact everyone is hiding behind a screen, and don't have consequences for their behaviour some <redacted> people act the way they do. A legacy wide ignore feature is the only real option, if you could ignore their whole legacy, on your whole legacy , it would help, you'd never have to deal with that person again.

Yeah I think you're right. That's pretty much the only solution at this point. Maybe we'll get that in the 10 year anniversary uodate.

  9. This would be nice as blaster pistols like the E-1 imperial Blaster Pistol and the Rascal sound like nail guns. NAIL GUNS!? have the sound engineers ever seen a Star Wars film? This kind of sound engineering in a traditional FPS would not even be tolerated.

    I often wonder this too....

  10. Maliciously sabotage as you call it, to a degree is depending of the point of view. Especially as a tank I often feel like being sabotaged, almost as often though speaking up about it, it turns out the other player simply doesn't know better. So communication too is important, you can't call people toxic just because they can't read your mind. At the same time not all players react well to others telling them things. And again, different backgrounds, not everyone has the same upbringing, so choice of words and tone might mean different things too.

You also never know what kind of situation the person behind the screen is in, under time or emotional pressure and so on. Sure it's not the best idea to PUG in that situation but who are we to decide how people play the game and why, we don't pay their subscription. Though of course we neither are forced to keep playing with them, there is the kick vote, the ignore and if that isn't enough you can leave a group yourself. And if they are really bad, throwing nothing but insults around you also can write a support ticket.

Here's what I mean. Say the group wipes on a first run at a boss known to be challenging. Said toxic player immediately resorts to explicative laced finger pointing and name calling because it has to be somebody's fault. That's malicious. You don't get to the root of a problem by instantly initiating blame and using curse words and insults.

Vote kick, yeah that happens although I like to be fair and give them time to play nice before I initiate. I explain, ask questions, and observe first. As for ignore, I use that as soon as I'm no longer grouped with them everytime.

I'm not one to normally open my mouth unless it's to say yes, no, thanks, brb, sorry, or tyfg. If I do explain something I usually ask if anyone is new first. If I see something critical I just explain it without any flavor text.

You are right there are a lot of different people playing under different constraints but there are certain levels of common decency, courtesy, and social etiquette that should be basic behavior, not just in a game but in real life.

  11. Learn to edit.

You have some good ideas, some so-so ideas, and some yoda-awful ideas.

I'm not going through the list b/c I have better things to do.

    :csw_jabba:

    Dasty

I have to echo this sentiment. Some of the ideas are good, it's just all of this at once is too much. Some of the ideas would probably upset a lot of players. It's also kinda mashed together so it's difficult to read and digest. My two cents, the key to end game is new content aimed at end game players and expanding the replayability of existing content.

The way forward should have been Ossus. That was a great content model that they killed with 6.0. It's hard to see that place as the barren wasteland it has become after experiencing it in its full glory. It was a little grindy but the gearing objectives were clear cut. Not to mention the rep vendors are great, chocked full of decent stuff, albeit mostly decos, the effort was definitely in the right direction

  12. These are just my suggestions, but I think these would be good for the game.

1). Cybertech - schematics for more expendable craftables. Grenades are great but here's what else we need. Rocket launchers, turrets (healing, taunting, dps, shield generator), flamethrowers, stealth generator and shield generator belts. These would be expendable devices so players can keep making and using/selling them.

2). GSF revamp - merge class ships with gsf. Add group based pve missions. Redo class ships to support decorations (doesn't have to be the same as strongholds, could be ready made themed interiors). Add way more ships and let us buy and/or collect them. Redo class ships to fit trinity roles to support new group based pve content. Add several pve missions to support this. Add new ship part schematics. Make this a whole component to the game.

3). Add more customization to classes - allow any blaster based class to use all blasters albeit with a penalty based on class. Same for lightsaber classes. Allow ALL classes to use vibroswords, techblades, and techstaffs with at least 3 basic attacks if its not a saberstaff class.

4). Companion revamp - bring back custom animations or give them player animations. What they do now (with few exceptions is quite stale). Add some weekly companion missions for continuing romances or whatever. Allow them to continue reacting to light and darkside choices beyond story content. This could affect your current influence level so you could potentially have to keep giving them gifts. Go on ahead and make all comps able to change outfits. Most companions without this feature seem cheap and get much less use, if any at all.

5). Swoops - forgetting about the event, how about an instanced daily where we can race npcs or a timer along the lines of that one Ziost daily. And please, add proper swoops like the Daggerstar.... There's really a lot more you could do with swoops but I'll spare you.

6). Vendors - Add new items to all the reputation vendors. Add new vendors. There's been more stuff removed from the game than has been added... some people do enjoy going to different locations just to shop when playing games. This needs to be a thing.

I think all of these are do-able based on what I've seen the devs pull off over the years. I also think they would make for a good interim move over the next year, with the exception of the ship stuff. That would probably take a bit longer.

Anyway the game needs something strong to revitalize the current content, then the devs can take as much time as they need to make train strongholds and add taxis to fleet... I was scarred by those additions and I'm fearful of what revisiting planets and older content means on the roadmap.

  13. Just to reiterate, by toxic I mean players who maliciously sabotage the experience for others. One small example: you're in a gf fp and the second something goes wrong one player verbally berates another unnecessarily name calling, casting blame and such, then before you know it the group has disbanded. I wasn't really talking about the people spewing racist, sexist, lewd, political views in gen chat, especially since there are no moderators and we have an ignore function.
