  1. Assassins are really our counter class (Most classes have some sort of counter class) Assassins have heavy up front burst damage and can get us sub 50% hp without us getting out of the stuns. If you are marksman the only option is to entrench and try to burst them down. Lethality has much more options but the problem is that they can cleanse our dots once.
  2. U cant if the sorc knows what he is doing sniper cant beat him.In the matter of fact sniper cant kill any class in 1v1 .

    This might be possibly the most untrue and worst comment I've ever heard. Snipers are one of the MOST CAPABLE 1v1 class in the game. If you're still crying about sniper you need to l2p. We have ridiculous burst and are easily capable of killing sorcerers.

    -Level up to 50

    -If you are 50, and still are convinced snipers are bad. L2P

  3. I'm approaching R70 Valor and have yet to even think about the idea of shelving this class. Marksman wasn't really my thing and it felt like I only did good damage on certain targets, so I suppose I shelved playing marksman to play Lethality hybrid. Honestly I was under the impression we were overpowered till I read these forums. Sure, my dots can get taken away, but my cull does serious damage and reapplying dots is easy. The energy cost for Lethality/engineering is pretty decent and I'm never fully running out of energy. I feel like my warlock on WoW except for with more burst during my cull. Honestly snipers are pretty good against most opponents and lethality is VERY good against everything. I guess I'm a bit biased because I've always been a pvper and was a gladiator multiple times on WoW, but I think snipers are fine.
  4. I'm sorry... This isn't true. While I would like a game that would reward players with tangible items based on skill, this isn't a very good way of doing things.

    "You get out of something what you put in"

    MMORPG's aren't just designed for the highly skilled players, they are built for all players on all skill levels, some people are just naturally not as good as others, or don't care as much as other players. Almost all games and mmo's reward people on how much effort and hard work they put into the game. WoW rewards players that spend time on professions, gearing their characters, etc. (It is not that hard to get gear in this game by the way)

    I'm sorry but it's the sorry truth about things. All mmorpg developers want players to spend time playing their game so that they continue to profit. If players that were good were rewarded immediately and didn't have to work for things or spend time getting things, there wouldn't be a game.

  5. If you are a clicker in my guild, you're getting guild kicked.

    As a veteran MMO player and guildleader and a leader of a pvp guild I realize It is less efficient to click and I'd like players with potential.

    If you click, and are in my guild, you're getting kicked.

  6. Healers are killable for snipers but it depends on the spec.

    Lethality - Place dots on them and hope they won't dispell, lay explosive probe (pop expertise adrenal) cull and laugh as the healer drops below half health every time.

    Marksmanship - A bit harder it seems, if you don't kill him with your burst you are going to have a hard time killing him. Because lethality does more sustained damage and gets bursty every time you cull, the lethality spec seems to be best. Your best bet as MM is to Explosive probe, snipe, followthrough every time you can, and ambush.

    GOOD LUCK!

  7. So you play a powertech and think sorcs are crazy? Your playing powertech wrong if they are owning you. Because Sorcs run on sight from my vanguard. DPS gear yourself up. Play shared tree. And start bursting them.

    People also seem to forget, KILLING someone isnt always the goal in PVP. Forcing someone to run away and survive is completely a win in pvp.

    If its a DPS sorc. If you force them away from nuking your team to LOS and heal themselves. He isnt nuking your team. Or if its a healer, if he is healing himself, he isnt healing his group. Forcing someone into LOS, killing them or not is taking them out of the fight.

    I have a sage, I have a blast on it. I think its easy to play DPS. But If im not allowed to free cast and have people on me the whole game, I can live a long time sure, but am I doing anything productive or helping my group? No, Im being forced into being selfish.

    Sigh* nowhere in his post does he proclaim that he was getting owned by sorcs as a powertech. You need to actually read the post, and not just assume things. The whole post was about how powerful and crazy sorcerers actually are. How they have much more utility than other classes. WHICH THEY DO.

  8. if you want ranged burst and the true capability to drop someone

    a snipers the way to go

    do you want to fluff your dmg with aoe and be ostracized by the swtor forums then play a sorc..

    get ur azz handed to you by any class that so chooses and then read how op you are.. even tho you were taken from 100% to 10% in a stunlock rotation from an operative.

    but anyway

    i play 7/17/17 atm

    good for aoe pressure and moderate single target dmg

    but dont let anyone fool u we rly dont have a strong single target dmg build available to us

    and make no doubt about it if u try to trade dps with most other classes they will kill u before u kill them

    use ur bag of tricks, use ur interrupt, time ur stun dont waste it.... and u can do decent

    Everyone dies quickly to operatives. Moderate single target damage? Lol, you're bad. So bad.

  9. Allow for me to explain.

    ">In a cooking class, students are asked to use a specific, obscure ingredient that has an "acquired taste" (meaning it's not exactly good tasting to everyone) to create a delectable dish.

    >All of the students create their dishes, yet only one of them is actually pleasing to the palate, the rest taste disgusting simply because they didn't prepare their meal the correct way.

    >The students who failed the "test" all claim that the ingredient they were asked to use was so terribly disgusting that there is no possible way to prepare it in a way that would be pleasing to the senses.

    >Yet the one student who did make it correctly sees no problem with it.

    >Therefore, the ingredient isn't the problem, it's the students who didn't do it right."

    To make this argument relevant...

    Students = Players

    Ingredients = Classes

    In your argument you are comparing the students abilities to create a delectable dish (players), not the ingredients themselves. (classes)

    >A chef asks all of the students to make a dish using a specific set of ingredients

    >All of the students get the same ingredients and all get ingredient "x" which is the bad ingredient

    >The students all make a dish for the chef to taste

    >The chef finds that the dishes that contain more of the "ingredient x" are much less tasty than the rest of the dishes that used less of ingredient x

    >Therefore in general ingredient x is less tasty than the rest of the ingredients

    The problem with your argument is that you are testing the ability of students to make a dish with a specific ingredient (A players ability to play a class) but you aren't actually testing whether or not the ingredient is as good as the rest of the ingredients

    Remember - In order for a class to be balanced it must be on the same level as the rest of the classes, just because one player can play a class better than the rest of the players does not make the class balanced!

    Don't argue with the mastah.

  10. This is not even close to being a post hoc fallacy.

    The argument goes as such:

    >People say Sniper is useless and not viable at all for PvP, and is probably the worst class in the game

    >Someone posts a video of a Sniper doing well and scoring in the top numbers

    >1 Sniper does well, therefore, not all Snipers are useless in PvP. Just the players who can't do it right

    Here is an analogy:

    >In a cooking class, students are asked to use a specific, obscure ingredient that has an "acquired taste" (meaning it's not exactly good tasting to everyone) to create a delectable dish.

    >Therefore, the ingredient isn't the problem, it's the students who didn't do it right.

    If you didn't understand that because your retarded, I'll make a legend for you:

    Ingredient = The Sniper class

    Students = Snipers

    The only thing I was trying to point out was that one youtube video is not clear and concise enough evidence to declare that snipers are not gimped. This is an obvious and credible argument that is being raised, please don't have the stupidity to deny that.

    There needs to be sufficient enough evidence to support your argument

    As to your "cooking" experiment, It's completely irrelevant.

    Now you are using a non sequitar fallacy.
