  1. I just got two new companions who I was about to visit in the force enclave and they attacked me before I could even see them. I didnt want to kill them so I ran away. Guss got the attention of one of them. When I entered hylo's room another companion joined them. I tried to get to the elevator but then T7 attacked me too. I fled to the hangar and another one attacked them and as that one died they got into a fight with another bystander...

     

    I had no other choice but to kill them all.

  2. This is something that bothers me since day one. When we draw our lightsaber in cinematics it looks abit like kylo ren when he is about to fight luke. Looks slightly epic. But when we pull them out while playing, it looks like we hit an annoying fly next to our shoulder while its half ignited and then proceed to the default stance. This doesnt look good at all. And double blade lightsabers dont look much better either.

     

    I was hoping after all these years those animations would get some attention. Or an option to not draw our lightsabers as ranged healers/dps inquisitors/consular because it looks ridiculous standing 30m away, throwing lightning and holding a useless weapon in our hand. I mean, have you have seen someone holding an axe while shooting with an assault rifle at the same time?

     

    These things ruin the immersion.

    End of verbal jerking off part 1.

     

    As part of this rollout, we have made a substantial investment in hardware, software, and network infrastructure to dramatically improve our service and make your experience awesome.

    Yeah, great. Its about time. This isnt something you just put into the middle of the usual verbal jerking offThis is something that should be mentioned as something we expect you to do on a regular basis. Especially after we pointed out the issues for years and you simply didnt care to fix them.

     

    I’m very excited about these improvements...

    Im not. I will be the day when you announce bug fixes and deliver.

     

    ...in addition to a variety of Quality of Life (QoL) improvements...

    No bug fixes then?

     

    It will also include additional changes needed to support the deployment of the United Forces update.

    What updates exactly? Announcing updates and then not going into any detail isnt what reasonable people call information.

     

    United Forces Update is rolled out and everyone moves to five new servers with new names

    And it took half a page to mention the first actual detail of the roadmap... Im not impressed.

     

    A Traitor Among the Chiss becomes available and includes something new for everyone!

    A future patch involves something new... WHO WOULD HAVE KNOWN?! Seriously?

     

    ...made huge changes to improve the balance across our Classes...

    You mean ruin gameplay in the name of balance by pretending its an improvement? Yeah, huge changes people didnt ask for and didnt get the changes we expected. Woo hoo...

     

    ...revived the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event...

    After players begged for it for nearly a year... You expect us to bow before your grace now?

     

    ...and most recently, revealed a traitor in your Alliance through a new Flashpoint

    By spoilering it in an announcement for future "content" and stretched the thin content even further because the gap between the story is over half a year long...

     

    We’ve also made quite a few Quality of Life improvements, adding new character and legacy perks, increasing the ease of gaining Influence with your Companions, and enabling the ability to summon your Companion while moving.

    And this is something people asked for or this game actually needs right now? I remain skeptical.

     

    Based on the feedback we’ve seen on our forums, fan sites and social channels, we still have lots more to deliver.

    Understatement of the century.

     

    On November 28th, following the United Forces update, we are going to release our biggest multiplayer update of the year.

    Swtor is a MMO. Its kind of expected to have MULTIPLAYER updates on a regular basis! When I read blizzards updates and announcements I see three pages of details. From you here we get three pages of nothing and a few lines of details. SEE THE DIFFERENCE???

     

    If you like story-driven Star Wars-style battles, you can jump into a new Flashpoint, ‘A Traitor Among the Chiss.’ If you like blasters-blazing big boss battles, get ready to face Nahut, the 3rd Boss encounter in the ‘Gods from the Machine’ Operation. For those of you looking for dogfighting in space, we are releasing a new Galactic Starfighter map that places you around the orbit of Iokath. For those who want to face off in PvP, we’ve got a new location for you, too.

    Yay. End of page one and we get another load of details. Why is this taking so long? Oh, right. The verbal jerking about former failed updates.

     

    Plus, the update will include a multitude of additional features.

    Water is wet. We already know. WE WANT FRIKKIN DETAILS!

     

    My favorites include an enhanced Group Finder that makes grouping up quick and easy

    We are also hard at work on features planned for early 2018...

    We get it. You like to jerk off about your "hard work" at every opportunity while you should be talking about whats actually comming to the game.

     

    As you can see, we want all our players to benefit from the variety of new gameplay that’s coming. It’s going to take us a couple months to bring it all to you, but it’s also going to be fun discussing the updates, answering your questions, addressing your concerns, and watching your reactions. We will make our 6th year very memorable!

    Oh, cut the verbal jerking already. We get it. You like to make empty promises and talk about how "great" you make the game again. If you want the votes of simpletons, you probably have them by now. Think of the people that can tie their shoes on their own.

     

    Although I won’t reveal where things are going after that, I can confirm that the thrilling conclusion to this chapter of the story is coming early next year… on a planet you probably wouldn’t expect to return to.

    Ok to no spoilers but not ok to the stretching of already thin content. Promising big upgrades and then only delivering 1-2h of new content isnt really what players are looking for. Especially not when talking about what you have planned for us!!!

     

    We know Companions make this game feel totally different while pulling on your emotions and making conversations exciting, frustrating, and extremely entertaining.

    Depends. Will you abandon the half conversation system introduced in KOTFE alliance side missions? Because those arent exciting or entertaining. They are frustrating because its not a real conversation like we have outside those side missions.

     

    We’ve given you the ability to customize many of them including Theron, Lana, Shae, Koth, and Senya...

    We bow before your mercy to do what we had with all other companions before KOTFE, oh great one... Seriously, you expect praise for this no-brainer?

     

    Galactic Command... We’ve made substantial improvements ...

    In addition, we’ll offer an even better version of augments you can craft from materials gained through both PvP and PvE activities.

    Oh, look. Another detail that should have been in the first half page!!

     

    We will continue to use our Public Test Server to get your feedback on each Boss encounter.

    Translation: We will continue to let you use our public test server to test the bosses for us.

     

    We are in the process of finalizing Nahut, The Son of Shadow, who has new mechanics that will make the fight very entertaining for everyone yet very challenging for our most veteran of players.

    Sure, because making fights not entertaining and challenging was your goal until now... The secret is finally out!!! /s

     

    You can expect Izax will not go down easily and will be the most exciting encounter for ‘Gods from the Machine.

    Your use of the word exciting is different than the use of the word in general. The most used word to describe the galactic command system before it was released was "EXCITING". Yet its boring at best. So my socks remain unrocked when you say that word. And we expect final bosses to be more challenging than the other bosses of that operation. Its a theme in MMOs. Maybe one day you learn that too.

     

    Both Scyva and Izax will be made available in early 2018 and for those of you who enjoy the ultimate level of challenge. Our plan is to follow up with Master Modes of each boss figh, too.

    The ultimate challenge will come... AND THEN WE DOUBLE IT! Was will it be then?? The ultimate master challenge??

     

    Some of the most impactful and controversial changes we made recently were those related to Class Balancing. Over the past few months we also determined many areas of the game were also imbalanced.

    Class balancing... imbalanced... Nothing about improving gameplay or the most important thing: FUN!! NOTHING!!

     

    Player versus Player (PvP)

    Yeah, boring. Nobody cares aslong as you allow bots and hackers to roam free like the last years.

     

    ...with A Traitor Among the Chiss update (Game Update 5.6), your Unassembled Components will become legacy-bound

    Wow, another detail hidden between useless verbal jerking!

     

    In United Forces Foundation (Game Update 5.5), we will introduce extensive ship and component balance changes to Galactic Starfighter.

    Translation: "Get ready for more nerfs like with classes in the name of balance."

     

    As a reminder, Quality of Life (QoL) is a term we use to reference improvements we make to enhance your gameplay experience. QoL improvements include changes to existing game systems, improvements to the User Interface, simplifying ways to do things in-game, increasing the speed of mounts, adding Legacy Perks, and more.

    Translation: "We need to write more usless stuff in this announcement so we pretend you are clueless when we use phrases you obviously never heard before because we think we just invented them."

     

    A cool change we are delivering with A Traitor Among the Chiss is the ability to add Credits to your Legacy Bank.

    Wow, another detail? How many has it been now? 5? 6? You are drowning us!

     

    PLAYER COMMUNICATION... Over the past few months we have worked to increase communication and transparency.

    Uhm... what? Where? Did I overread it between the sheer ocean of golden posts that hit the forum lately? /s

     

    The amount of feedback and input I have received from you as part of this process is overwhelming and humbling. I feel proud to be at the helm of a game that has such dedicated fans

    Translation: "We ignored your feedback for over 4 years but recently we started to take notice. We are proud to rule over such persistant players that like to see the game improved outside the CM while we run the game into the ground."

     

    We make games because we love to watch the fun and competition they bring to gamers like us. Thank you for listening, reading and responding and please continue to share your feedback with us on the forums, on Reddit, on social media and on other fan sites. We value your comments and we are listening!

    Considering what you (as a dev team) have done to the game since KOTFE, the lies, the deception, the verbal mstrbation, the empty promises, the overuse of the word exciting, the lack of fixes, the thin content... I cant take you serious. I just cant. One has to be as blinded as trump to throw that at the people that point out the issues with the game for several years. Whats equally worse is that there are players that think you delivered the speech of the century because they are either too blind or too stupid to comprehend whats been happening since KOTFE.

    I cant stuff my arm as deep into my throat as I need to right now. The level of insult I feel when reading your nonsense makes me regret I paid money to play this game for so long.

  4. I just played two flashpoints or at least I tried to. As soon as I entered the first my connection started to drop. I totally lost connection before the droid boss and couldnt get back in for over 10 minutes. Internet was fine. I was barely able to log back in after I restarted my computer.

    2nd flashpoint. Connection dropped low right after entering and I lost it right at the bonus boss. The boss I was looking forward to for over a year of looking for a group for this boss!!!

     

    This happened awhile back too. I could wander everywhere but as soon as I entered a flashpoint or operation the connection turned red. This siths me off!

  5. To bring the Lightning Sorcerer / Telekinetics Sage to their DPS target, we reduced the critical damage bonus given from Reverberating Force / Reverberation by 5% and increased the damage dealt by Shock / Project while Crushing Darkness / Mind Crush is on the target.

    You already nerfed the guaranteed crit of thundering blast. Now you reduce the crit damage of three hardest hitting attacks of the lightning spec. This does not fit the concept of an improvement.

     

    - Convulsing Currents now gives Shock a 35% damage increase when the enemy is affected by Crushing Darkness, up from 20%

    This doesnt look like a real improvement either. Shock is really bad with crits so buffing its bonus damage when its not very high in the priority list doesnt appear to be a buff either. Especially after nerfing the other abilities that usually crit more often and much higher.

     

    Im not a math expert but improving 1-2 shocks for each crushing darkness by 15% is something we should be looking forward to? Really?

     

    Those numbers are both inaccurate and outdated; they don't reflect recent nerfs. Lightning's AVERAGE parse is even higher than 9350; in full min-max 248's with datacrons and optimal force speed use, you should be averaging about 9500 on a dummy, not 9350. Arsenal should be averaging about 9200 on a dummy, not 10.1k. This nerf will put average Lightning parse at anywhere from 9200-9400, or pretty much right where Arsenal and Marksman will be. Heck, the peak parse might even be close to 9500 still.

    Maybe leave out the dummy numbers. They only cause confusion and people think this is something they can achieve in heavy movement fights.

     

    They want Arsenal, Marksman, and Lightning at around 5 percent below their target DPS (which seems to be around 9750 based on top parses for specs). That puts it firmly in the 9200-9300 range, which is where all three of these specs will be (barring good or bad crits).

    This would be nice. But its more likely wishful thinking on our part. If they knew what they were doing they would have balanced classes over a year ago. Or during beta testing.

     

    I'm not a fan of their choice to nerf everything instead of buffing and rebalancing content (you want people to feel like they are progressing, not regressing) but Lightning is better than people think.

    Balancing by buffing weak specs and abilities is something people like and need. It doesnt just sound like an improvement, it gives players the feeling of getting stronger which is exactly what will happen. Getting nerfed at one end, getting a tiny buff on the other is just not that. If a dev cant grasp this after 2 decades of MMO history then that person is incompetent. Yet thats exactly what we see in every patch here.

    If I were a full time raider I would have quit this game a long time ago. And given their level of incompetence I probably wont aspire a raiding career here either.

     

    It just hurts to love a game thats being ruined by a bunch of incompetent devs.

  6. There is also no reason to restrict the bright yellow eyes from the CM to only humans and cyborgs. Pureblood sith have much better sith eyes and they even get the red eyes by default but they are only for them, not for any other race. Unless you play your char dark side andyou will have the dirt in the face too.

     

    So yes, there is no reason to restrict those items to only specific races or classes. They allowed pink hair for crying out loud!!! But not actual sith eyes for all. Only for purebloods. *facepalm*

     

    Another example of biowares incompetence. They just ignore it like they always do.

    [*]Right now it seems likely we will have a patch on Tuesday of next week. If that happens I will let you know the status of the above bullets. We know there is great interest in seeing some more of the double event and we are looking at timing for that.

    How about this week or once a month? Constantly reminding us that you are "looking into it" but almost sounds condescending these days. DO IT AND REPORT BACK! Dont say you look into it. This isnt information for us! We want results, not empty promises!

    More likely that they can't make sudden changes without some severe consequences, and more likely quite a few unintended ones on top of it all.

  8. They should make it cycle. Have either one planet get the bonus or let the player get the bonus for the first planet they finish. But doing 4-5 planets after another sounds abit excessive considering we can do them every day. There should be some slight balance.

     

    I do say the past week was great. I finally did yavin 4 dailies for reputation as I wanted to for a long time. Now I did it several times and probably will have the reputation done once I use up the remaining rep items. I also had the motivation to do black hole dailies even when I only got a few achievements out of it (besides the CXP).

     

    This is something people like. Keep it in the game.

  9. Right now Im standing on coruscant in the jedi temple, right in the middle, and a counsular comes along. I notice my screen starts shaking periodically. It took me a few shakes to realize it was the counsulars force quake that was shaking my screen. When he left the main area the shaking stopped.

     

    Im all for effects but some should stay with the individual player, not shaking the screen for everyone.

  10. The last two days I noticed a strange console humming sound while in my stronghold which follows me to the loading screen. Im not sure which decoration produces the sound. Maybe because the frikkin backround noise of the stronghold is too frikkin loud!

    So theres two bugs you should fix.

  11. I like the concept of getting people into old areas again. I like that my new chars can gain CXP levels on a daily basis while doing something alone that rewards me with reputation money and fun.

     

    If this turns into something permanent even if it cycles through the different planets, the respawn should be adjusted. Then I think this is a good way to get people out into the world again, to group up and maybe connect with each other outside of raids.

  12. I dont like the maze on iokath. It reminds me of corellia and I dont like the paths there either. Im ok with the boss heroic mission. Helps getting people together to do things. But the dailys are boring.

     

    Umbara is nice to look at. I liked it in the animated series already. Abit dark, crazy enemies, unpredictable terrain. I like the open area because I can choose the path I want to take. The train itself... well... I dont really like or dislike it.

  13. Darth Sidieos was able to hide his affinity in the force as well as his dark sides intentions. It wouldn't be impossible to imagine a Jedi master stealing sith techniques to hide their intentions. Nomen Karr is a good example of how some Jedi were corrupted. While it isn't stated clearly whether his darkness had been there for long or the fight with the warrior brought that out, but it was there. Same the other way around. A good sith could easily hide their true side without much issue.

    Nomen karr and darth sidius are two different cases. Sidius was cruel and knew it. Nomen karr hid his corruption under his zealotry dedication. He never realized that he was the bad one even when he used more of his emotions during the fight with the wrath.

  14. This is what I did as a career. Sometimes you went home from work feeling like you'd been squashed between two very heavy objects. I guess that's why I'm not frothing and foaming. Been there, done that and finally ran screaming after a couple decades of it.

    If you made fun of the community and defended ******** of the company like eric does then perhaps you both deserve all objects flying your way.

  15. Alright, fair consensus seems to stop doing codes. I hear you on them being shareable like the Cantina code is optimal, but it isn't how they work currently. With that in mind I am going to hold off on it. Again, I apologize if people felt slighted, I only meant it is as a fun downtime killer! I will be more sensitive to that in the future.

     

    Again, we are actively moving towards a possible fix now. We then need to test it to ensure it corrected the issues of this morning. I will pass on updates as I have them.

  16. Eric Musco, you must have the hardest job in the world playing meat shield to your dev team. Where are your producers, QA leads, live team at right now? Having a burrito at the food truck? Meanwhile the game is likely bleeding further subs, etc.

     

    Not only should the CXP/XP bonus be extended for every hour of unplanned downtime this week, but the CXP "bug" for dailies should be left in. Further, every hour of GAME TIME for those subbed needs to be credited back. Every last minute of every last hour. That's what real studios do. I've played this game since Alpha and you've made no progress on your patches and testing, even when there was a PTS, etc. Having worked in the gaming industry and now in the enterprise software industry for cloud computing, I've never seen such terrible QA. We've been patient, but seriously, pull it together already.

     

    People are right, code is a fickle thing. But where is the testing before you roll something like this? Oh that's right, dev team is playing Smash Brothers in the cafeteria.

    I dont have pity with speakers for a company that intentionally screws up its own game and screws with the community. They arent meatshields. They make the excuses public. Obviously people that do such things value the money more than the community they lie to.

  17. Galactic command system, planetary missions have a bonus right now. Cant click on it to receive the missions. Its grayed out. "You are not ineligible for planetary missions."

     

    Same with flashpoints. Its grayed out. "You are not ineligible for solo flashpoints."

     

    Galaxy map doesnt open. It only turns everything except the interface black. I can still move and navigate via the map but thats it. I cant travel with the ship either because the map doesnt open there either. The only way of travel is via daily missions in the log.

  18. So, thanks for all the ideas. We'll decide what to do next week, but in the meantime, take advantage of this massive CXP change.

    First of all, the concept of you guys doing the right thing doesnt fit your record so far. Second, a day after it was announced that there is a bug, you patched it (according to the patch notes). So... Im slightly confused what we could take advantage of here.
