  1. Ask the studio, it's their game.

Personally, I would make all items one color... period. Junk items in gray, everything else in one color for items with stats on them. That would force players to rely on actually looking at an items stat itemization rather then get all worked up over the color coding. Of course there would be a horrendous uproar in the forums over it... because any change of any kind always inflames some people.

Cant do that. People would have to actually read what gear to use. And because reading item tooltips was so hard @token vendors we have now this very simply gearing system.

  2. It certainly would be. I am behind this 100% that there needs to be more group content. I am not denying this. I am however against anyone complaining that people who simply do solo story shouldn't also be able to work towards getting that gear; it shouldn't matter.

Regardless, everyone should have access to it. Right now people have limited access due to the system being a mess. There's too little gain, not enough consideration for alts, etc. This needs to be changed, including the amount of content and just who it's catered for. Hopefully this January we will see this change.

I have seen lots of comment that suggest restoring token drops for gear in hm/nim and maybe some kinda tokens you earn from RWZ but they all have said that keep GC a way for solo players to earn gear also. It just will be slower route.

  3. A lot does needs to be removed from the loot table, yes or at least they should be given as an added 'reward' on top of the command grates themselves.

Trying a set vendor with DvL tokens in theory would work easily, different activities earn different amounts of tokens. By the time you've hit tier 3 just by doing ops you'll have enough tokens to buy any set items you're missing. This is of course is if you get a considerable amount of tokens for each OP run and the set pieces were 50-100 tokens a piece. And running, let's say a NiM op gave you 10-20 tokens a run.

If those DvL tokens come from everywhere then yea. But not like they are earned now. But they could just make a GC tokens that come from every 5 box or so. Then you can turn those in to gear.

Or make it lake those reputation grinds. Get it to certain rank and you can buy gear from vendor. But the way I see this is that no matter what kind of grind they set up for this, they still will lose veteran players. We have been doing same stuff for 2 years now waiting for new Ops/FP's/etc. Few 15-20 minute uprising don't hold that much.

  4. To be honest, not every single player is on these forums. Most players are happy to simply play without coming onto the forums. Those who are likely to be on the forums are the loud minority who kick up a fuss regardless of what is happening.

I make a point to ignore every single 'raider' post that says fixing this situation is doable by adding in tokens into their raid drops. As soon as you step into that territory where you believe 'you' are the only people who are suffering, your opinion becomes moot. It's still an opinion, and you're entitled too it, but it's still moot. Will say it again, it's not just bloody raiders who are suffering. Stop acting like you're the centre of the maelstrom - I think you can all agree that you haven't been catered too for years. You are not their target audience. It's the sad truth.

This system needs tweaking. And the points I slapped down before are the step in the right direction to get it sorted. Points that benefit ALL players. Not just Extreme Raiders.

RNG sucks, yes, we hate it. But it's doubtful it's going to leave. What can be done is making it possible where we control the rate for which purples drop by increasing our levels. A small percentage increase with each level to the point that hitting level 300 will give you almost a 10-30% chance of getting a purple set bonus item with each crate. This is also on TOP of my idea of being able to purchase unlocked tier set items with the DvL tokens.

Minority of players come to forums yes but there are lots of players who who doesn't post @ forums and hate this rng gearing. This can be easily seen in different chats in game.

If the rng is here to stay (at least until 6.0 given BW record of bringing new systems and then ignoring them later) they need to remove a lot of stuff from that loot table and up the % of set piece drops.

And tying set vendor to DvL tokens is almost as bad as this rng stuff we have now.

  5. And why do we need this system?

    - I am able to think myself and I am able to evaluate and choose my gear

    - I don't need a system that gives me random loot -> I am able to think myself, thank you!

    - I don't want to desintegrate everything I get because it does not fit to MY gameplay

    - Thank you but I do not need more reputation nor do I need new pets

    - I don't need orange blasters on my Juggernaut

    - I want to play the game the way I prefer

    - "exciting" new RNG system does not improve the biggest problem of the game: missing content

    - RNG just gave many members of my guild the last reason to leave the game next to missing content

Conclusion: thanks RNG for ruining the gameplay.

Maybe they had to come up with some new system because they didn't have enough new repeatable content.

And to slow down gear progression, making highlighted Ops drop bis in 4.0 was bad for the game and now they swing too much on the other side of how long it takes to gear. System before 4.0 was just fine and didn't need changing.

  6. No way. That would undo the good part of CXP. I don't want to go back to a system that forces you to play NIM ops only for the best gear. Let all the content be meaningful by increasing the CXP rates or decreasing the required CXP per level. The system should absolutely not go back to only NIM raiders get good gear.

It should be like Nim drops Nim tokens BUT you can also grind your gear via GC.

  7. As I said, you are incorrect. Read my post again.

There is green, blue, orange, and purple gear pieces with stats. Just because you have not seen an orange stated piece does not mean it doesn't exist. Again, log on your server right now and ask in general chat. They will inform you of what you clearly do not know. You obviously will not believe me due to your position and bias on this issue.

Its actually blue (prototype modifications) in orange shell. And besides enhancements those are as much junk as rep tokens, green gear and empty orange shells.

  8. For one, bolster is not nearly as effective as you think it is. Secondly, who said anything about regs? I've largely been doing ranked arenas, which requires the best gear you can possibly get your hands on. As I said, gear matters more for my purposes than for any other activity in the game. The smallest differences in stats can be the difference between life and death.

Bolster is just good enough if rng gearing is great.

  9. For the record, I predominantly PvP, so gear is far more important for me than for any other activity in the game. That being said, I'm not overly concerned given nobody is in a position to truly get far ahead gear-wise.

With bolster in regs, you don't really need that good gear.

And what it matters if someone gets gear faster than some other or some get their gear as loot drops from harder content and other grind rng boxes. Other than jealousy?

On the other hand, In prog team it matters if some players have extremely bad luck with RNG. They are dropped from the team since they can't pull their own weight.

  10. Hey bob I'm a jedi sentinel class, I just recently got to this boss battle and have tried at least one type of strategy and has little effect or never works...she just locks me in place for a few seconds whe I'm trying to move around anywhere and eventually pulverizes me when she force throws me up and down and just kills me, I would like to ask you what your exact particular strategy you used in this case, maybe hoping it could help and put it to use or try it a few times...I know I'm going to get killed several more times before I can ever beat her, and if it helps what force interrupting powers would you recommend if you could to make this fight a bit easier....so far I'm just frustrated at how insanely overpowered vaylin seems at this point lol

Did it with deception sin. Lagging like hell. For that reason used companion as healer. Just nuke her with your back on the stairs. When she does that force cast with large aoe, run out of that and when it is done return to stairs to nuke her.

  11. You could make that argument, but it wouldn't hold for very long without corroborating evidence. What is clear is that the community had been in constant decline (even with ROTHC and SOR) until 4.0 released, and KOTFE provided a boost in the game's population.

I also seriously doubt the "storymode [sic] , solo players" were the ones responsible for the drastic decline as many of them likely stayed subscribed for the monthly chapters and bonus chapter. If anyone was responsible for unsubscribing, it was those folks who only care about group content and nothing else.

Ultimately responsibility for decline is on the studio not the players. If studio hypes this and that and fail to meet the hype players leave. People also argue here that majority of this and that because vocal minority this and that. No one actually knows how dissatisfied player base is for something or how much they like it.

As it is said many times over. Only minority of player base writes on forums.

  12. I plan to play both when the time comes. :D

I always have at least two MMOs in active rotation anyway. It's a diversification approach I learned many years ago to inhibit personal burn-out and frustration. It's actually a fairly popular approach for many players these day seeing as most MMOs are on a flexible access model rather then subscription only.

Not going to bother with any MMO's anymore. If someone just would make FPS that could rise the level of COD4 promod, I would be there instantly. CS GO is crap like every CS but that is just my opinion.

  13. You're certianly right about it being a slow progression. And why are you so obsessed with making everyone equal?

I am still wanting on an answer as to why you think a totally random gearing system that everyone has, makes everyone "equal". It's not equal if one person is luckier than another. There's no skill with this RNG.

Why are you so obsessed with making everyone equal? We should be encouraging diversity and celebrating the range of skills and achievements. How is anyone meant to shine if everyone is equal?

Shush. We live in era of I want it NOW without any effort and everyone is equal in every aspect.
