  1. Did everyone miss that the best healer to ever play this game agreed that you shouldn't need oneshots to make things challenging like... 5 pages ago? clearly the problem is OP is a scrub and real raiders love oneshots

This argument might hold weight if the one shots didn't serve a very specific purpose. They are there to ensure you must do mechanics or fail the encounter. If you take away the one shot mechanics on low level content then you might as well remove all mechanics and allow people to beat on a parse dummy for loot.

  2. If you look closely, they were trying to store Brontes' remaining power into a holocron. Which is why in the pub cutscene, Brontes still appeared beside the others when you finish the DF quest. But both dead Dread Masters could no longer hold the Phobis Devices' power, as it was made clear in their conversation with you in "The Hand that Sees".

The Phobis Device has no significance here. They were force users before coming in contact with the device and they were brought back as force ghosts in a dark side ritual. That's all the info you need. Nobody has suggested they were as powerful as before. You keep making this argument but it doesn't change the fact that the changes to Kephess were more significant than the changes to the Dread Masters when it comes to the powers exhibited.

  3. No, they weren't able contain their power after death. Did you even play the Oricon story?

The Dread Masters' power mostly came from the Phobis Devices, it's what made them the Dread Masters. In their conversation with you, they made very clear that they weren't able to contain the power after Styrak's death and was going mad. Which means Styrak's ghost could not share power from the Phobis Devices like he did in life.

In the other words, they no longer had the Dread Master's power after death, that, was a big big difference.

Maybe you need to go back and replay that entire series. After the death of Styrak the other 5 Dread Masters appeared and siphoned off what power they could from his corpse. The same happened after Brontes died with the other 4. During the point in the Council fight where you encounter Styrak and Brontes, the other 4 are at their thrones performing a ritual to summon their force ghosts using the power they siphoned. As I said previously, the force ghost retains the essence of what that person was. The changes to Kephiss were much different.

  4. Yes, and there are difference between the Dread Master Brontes/Styrak and their Force ghost.

Seriously, do you know nothing about Star Wars lore?

    Force ghost info

Basically, the changes in Kephess mechanics was due to changes made to his body while the inclusion of previous mechanics for the Force ghosts were because they tried to retain their powers even after death. The story even supports the dev decisions in both of these scenarios.

  5. I'm still stuck trying to figure out how the OP doesn't realize there's a difference between Warlord Kephess and Kephess the Undying... One is a standard Trandoshan and the other is a revitalized version using cybernetics and sith alchemy. Their character models are even completely different.

    Warlord Kephess

    Kephess the Undying

When Kephess shows back up on the Brontes phase as a clone he even uses a subset of his powers as Kephess the Undying. The powers Styrak and Brontes use on the council fight aren't exactly the same but very similar.

  6. P.S. R.I.P my old sage, Hotstreak. Your predecessor Slipfeed carys on your legacy.

I do not think this word means what you think it means. The word you are looking for is "successor".

Also, why not just create a new thread with a link to the old instead of a useless necro post?

  7. I prefer to do all the datacrons I need for the character on Level 60, because on a dedicated run I don’t have to remember which ones I picked up, and which ones I could not do. I think it’s crazy that the system tracks Datacrons for Legacy, but does not unlock it for Legacy.

I only did a full run of planets for main stat/end on one character, and came close with another one. :)

The datacrons that require multiple people are very annoying, particularly if it’s more than 2. After 40 minutes on Quesh, and advertising on the Fleet and Quesh, I finally managed to find the third person to do it, and that’s after offering 100,000 credits from the get go. That’s 40 minutes of stand-by time to do a 1 min puzzle.

I tried Strength on Tattoine 4 times, and life’s too short. Someone told me you have to walk backwards. Since then I have also learned that there is a 3rd speed of moving in the game, the super-slow one, and it is activated by a slash on the NumPad. I actually put my kid to watch the balloon ride and jump the character up and down every once in a while, and set the timer while cleaning up the kitchen on the 4th try. I cheat, beg and steal to get the precious gametime!

Uhhh... I just solo'd the Quesh datacron 2 days ago on a Merc. Not sure why you bothered to wait for others...

  8. the ziost mount is not a bantha?

JouerTue: I have put many beautiful mounts in the storeroom, each of them able to be ridden.

    El Guapo: Many mounts?

    JouerTue: Oh yes, many!

El Guapo: Would you say I have a Bantha mount?

    JouerTue: A what?

    El Guapo: A *Bantha*.

JouerTue: Oh yes, you have a Bantha.

El Guapo: JouerTue, what is a Bantha?

    JouerTue: Why, El Guapo?

El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a Bantha. And I just would like to know if you know what a Bantha is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a Bantha, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a Bantha.

  9. And I never experienced those problems during my gameplay so I don't understand how he's encountering them in the first place. I certainly never encountered them on my vanguard, powertech, or merc, tanking or dpsing. I also never had it on my commando healer.

Kudos to you, however, it would appear that not everybody had the same experience you did. This change makes sense as it makes the abilities more streamlined and aligned with other classes.

  10. To boot it required having the support cell (commando) to use and it's most definitively not tied to the base class, powertechs and vanguards have never been able to heal like that. What game have you been playing, are you on a legal server even?

He was clearly referring to the base skill being a shared ability. He was saying having the healing linked to a shared skill was causing problems. How was that hard to understand?

  11. I believe it may have been a patch to prevent people from glitching the run to quickly grind comms. Basically, people would run a gf op with 16 and have 1 or more log to an alt for the last boss. After downing that boss they would form a group with 15 alts and a character that dropped from the previous run in order to skip the first 4 bosses and still get the comms. You could do this over and over to abuse the lockout system.
  12. I still don't understand how that excuses you for being unprepared for PvP. Because this is a "game" I understand that this is supposed to be for fun. I do ranked and regs. I like the objective PvP as well as the 4 v 4 fight to the death arenas, but running in dying immediately over and over isn't my idea of fun, I and can't believe it is yours either.

This game makes it sooooooo freakin easy to be prepared that all I can see is that you just don't give a F&^%. So I give up. Keep having "fun" and I will be sure to avoid PvPing alongside people with your play style, as well as enjoying the easy kills as your enemy.

I'm saying that with the current leveling system in place people should adjust their expectations of unranked pvp. Anybody that pre-ordered the expansion is not going to bother leveling in Warzones when it is 12x faster to level by story missions. As a result, there are lots of level 55 players who have 0 pvp commendations to spend on gear and relatively low cash reserves to buy gear from the GTN. Sure, they COULD take time away from leveling via story missions to grind pvp but I doubt many people are doing that.

After hitting 55, the fastest way to get pvp gear is by playing in unranked warzones, so that's what they're doing. I don't expect any serious PVP player to like it but they are going to have to realize that there isn't any preventing it right now. Hopefully these people will fully gear one of their toons and then use legacy gear for their alts but I doubt all of them will.

So, tell me what you do in wz's? Please explain.....Also: The type of PvP you say is "PvP in a relaxed environment where winning and losing isn't such a big deal" is what Outlaw's den is for. ;)

Me? I do nothing in WZs currently because I haven't done any pvp since rejoining, the last time I did any pvp was in 2012 before I quit playing for a year and a half. Even then I was grouping with friends and playing to have fun. I'd have to go check my old character to figure out how geared he was but I had a full pvp set.

I have been to Outlaw's den a few times since coming back, it has always been dead when I was there.

no offense PVP IS Competitive! if you are there to do anything but win then you should really consider art classes or book clubs. i can see that thought process for pvp under 55. cause its just about doing the daily learning the objectives. but at 55 pvp is endgame. thats all pvpers have.

There is a difference between ranked and unranked PVP. I agree that ranked PVP should be all about competition but I don't agree that unranked PVP should be all about competition. Unranked should be more relaxed with fewer expectations. As I said above, right now people are using the 12x boost for xp and have no incentive to play pvp before hitting 55. That's just the current state of the game. I don't disagree that ranked pvp is endgame at 55 but don't try to take the one option away that a casual has to pvp.

Also, keep in mind that some of these people have never pvp'd. Are you going to drop a ton of cash on something you don't know if you're going to enjoy? You'll probably just hop in at the lowest level available and see what it's like before committing time and energy to getting what's necessary. At this time that is unranked pvp.

  13. Part of the fun is having the chance to win. I PvP in regs because it is the closest thing I get to mass PvP. If you don't even try to be prepared, then I don''t want you in the WZ. because as a healer you make my job harder. PvP is fun when it is competitive and everyone gives it their best effort. If you aren't prepared, then you aren't even trying. You are dragging the team down, which is a bummer because you cost me comms and time.

if you want to tout your epeen then go into ranked, that's what it's for, but don't assume that because you consider that to be fun that everyone else in the gen pop does. Some people want to PVP in a relaxed environment where winning and losing isn't such a big deal, that's what unranked is for. Setting the expectation that everyone in UNRANKED is going to be or wants to be highly competitive is stupid and you're going to have a bad time if that is your expectation while solo queuing.

  14. If you can't get lvl 54 purp crafted gear (derp) and some mk-9 kits (so hard) and some augs (what's an aug?) and some nano stims (OH I CAN MAKE THEM) and some pvp stims(omg this is too much) then just don't wz....because the point is to fight to win smart guy. Explain to me the logic of the point that YOU are trying to make? Other than the fact that you admit to be a unprepared lazy person.

What does it matter? Seriously, it's a game. If you don't like it then find a group that will put up with you (probably not going to happen) and quit queuing solo (derp). Expecting people to do this in solo queue is idiotic and ************ about it is pointless, grow up.

  15. Yeah, I necroed it, didn't found much else after a search...

The thing is, I left the Nar Shaddaa, sure, but I returned using my stronghold on Nar Shaddaa to come back to Nar Shaddaa and walk through the spaceport, and the game still bugged out on me. Luckily the support could help me, so I could continue leveling the character a day later. And since I have played all other class stories, I never had an issue before that, by leaving the world and just entering the ship from the space station, but the quest said I should go to the dock, even though the conversation was in the ship anyway.

Uhh... then start a new thread in the correct forum? Seriously, how was that not your first choice?

And for the record, this necro was over 33 months.

  16. Oh man, you've opened a can of worms. LOL

I'll direct everyone to this 220 response thread on the topic of "I would rather have a better geared player in the run and needing for their alt."

Sorry, just my personal opinion. I would rather have someone using their 180/186 gear than some 156/162 gear that they threw together so they didn't have to hear someone complaining about needing for alts because that is what would happen.

  17. How about buying stims? PvP AND your main stat?:eek::eek::eek: Pls, just shut it. You are clueless.

So, you're justification to leveling slower is that you can buy stims? Wow, that's brilliant, I will happily level 12x slower simply so that I can buy some stims at 55. If you can't figure out that grinding levels in a few days and then using a month of 55 WZs to gear up is preferable to grinding pvp for a month then perhaps I'm not the one that is clueless.

  18. What really sucks too is running a 16 person and every *** face just needing on everything. I love seeing 180 set bonus people walk away with the underworld gear which is why I go into them on my alts in the first place.

How do you know they aren't simply needing those items for an alt? I'd rather have a player that is well geared rolling for an alt in my group than the jerks who come in with lvl 30 gear, no clue how to play their class, and expect to be carried through.

  19. I'm confused, if it takes 3-4 hours to clear a NiM operation and you play 60-90 minutes a night then you should be able to clear both DF and DP before the weekly reset, you just need to find a group that is willing to accommodate that schedule. Also, what kind of gear would you expect to drop from a NiM FP? If you're hoping for 186 gear then I think you are going to be disappointed, it likely wouldn't be higher than 168.
  20. I despise watering down RPG systems in the name of 'balance'. Classes will never be balanced, and forcing everyone to take the same - or nearly the same - skills by eliminating wide and varied customization within a class will not make them balanced.

Either you didn't read what the devs said or you didn't comprehend what they said. They laid out that players were already taking the same skills with very little variance and that is why they are making this change. All that is going to really change is that the devs won't have to waste time on stat balancing any longer and can focus on better things like content.
