[Companion Combat Overview]

I mean for the system that the devs put in place to give them stats automatically. If the companions are intended to rely on some sort of defensive buff on cooldown instead of using the same shield mechanic as players, what is the companion gaining from the stats that the system has assigned for them in the shield and absorb stats? If this is the way it's intended to work, the devs might as well just shift all of the shield/absorb points into defense instead of wasting points on something that isn't being used.

How would companions get "allocated" any stats at all? I thought giving them gear did nothing anymore except change their appearance, and influence was the only thing that broadly affects their effectiveness in combat?

So I've now maxed out to 500 in Cybertech, but for some reason the only available enhancement schematics from the crew trainer are about 1/2 the usual amount. Namely, there's nothing with Alacrity available now, only Crit and something else I don't remember. What happened to the 36 Quick Savant Enhancements?

Problem solved, I'm an idiot. I had "display enemy player names", thinking that would cover everything. I looked through all the options again, and discovered I hadn't checked "display enemy NPC names". *sigh*

DocDAM, yes, in those settings both "display enemy names" and "always show health bars" are both checked.

 

And this isn't an on and off issue for me; I've literally never seen constant enemy nameplates before. Only if I hover over them or click. And when fighting, only the enemy I currently have selected will show their name plate.

I have both show enemy name plates and always show health bars checked, but the only time I actually see them is if I hover the mouse over them or they are actually selected. This makes it difficult to see what is what on the fly. Any tips?

Are you using a VPN? Mine will do that unless I shut it off for obvious reasons.
