  1. Secret space project is waaay far away, they dropped that months ago to work on the F2P model so they could try to save this sinking ship.

You wont see any new content for at least 6 months while they tweak and pump out crap and P2W items for the cash shop.

You may not get new content but you will be able to buy all the legacy stuff with real money that you couldnt afford with in game currency.

    11 days 8 hours

  2. This was one of the reasons alot of guildies left this game. Banging our heads against the wall trying to down a boss in a raid while fighting through lag.

Best part is like another poster said already.....its your computer thats lagging not anything on our end.

    12 days until launch.

  3. They should shut this crap down then pick up the phone and call the guys at Arenanet for tips/pointers on how to do things the right way.

GUILDWARS2 beta and stress tests run 100 times better without all the bugs that make up this ****** game.

  4. There is already brand damage, but going freemium does not mean they're throwing in the towel.

This game still has over 500 thousand subscriptions. If going f2p brings in a sizable amount of people who make purchases regularly from the cash shop as well as people who subscribe then EA might not consider TOR the "miss" they think it is.

I think the people that decide to play/try out the game with f2p wont buy anything from the cash shop unless its a ptw item. Why would anyone who didnt think the game is worth purchasing a sub bother spending money in the cash shop?

  5. No, it represents a market shift.

You represent a whiny self-entitled section of the fanbase, OP.

LOL, do you really believe its a market shift and not plain old failure on the part of ea/bioware?

They removed a ton of stuff before launch that was in beta because they pushed the game out before it was ready then spent all thier time chasing/creating new bugs after launch.

Hundreds of people working on this game and it was a constant bugfest right from launch with no real content implemented like the op said.

  6. Too late, this games is **** and they know it. The money is spent and they are crossing their fingers they break even on this WOW clone.

I honestly believe they mad it as close to WOW to snatch up as many fans of WOW they could knowing the voice acting would get them hooked enough to purchase then sub for more than just the 1 month at a time sub.

Fleecing fans of StarWars for all they could without putting out a game worth a ****.

  7. GW2 was designed, from the ground up, to be F2P.

    SWTRO wasn't.

    There's a big difference.

You see, GW2 developers won't have to stop whatever they are doing, just to convert the game to a different subscription model.

    SWTOR devs will.

Do you have any idea how long the gaps between content was for DDO & LOTRO while they changed over?

For DDO it was over a year of no content, for LOTRO it was close to 9 months.

So, enjoy your lack of content...and even quieter servers, between now and the change.

Ouch, that zinger may have been clear enough to get Yoda to unsub and uninstall this ****** game.

    GW2 FTW.

  8. LOL @ all the nubs who cry about unsubscribing because of F2P. They obviously haven't got a clue and are just assuming F2P somehow makes the game worse. Well it doesn't, IT MAKES THE GAME BETTER. All games have different F2P approaches, and when it is done right it saves the game and makes it way better than before. Just look at DCUO and LOTRO. And there are others that have done it right as well.

I am NOT unsubscribing! I will keep paying for my account. In fact, I just bought another account for a family member. And once it goes F2P, I know I will be bringing in a lot more people who will end up paying as well! Good job Bioware! You just saved this game! :D

    HAHAHAHAHAHA Classic

  9. Many of the features that TOR launched with were not in WoW until months/years after its launch.

Almost all of the features that were in TOR at launch were not included in EQ1 at all (or EQ2 for that matter) until months/years after WoW was launched.

As someone else said, "unrealistic expectations".

So is it really unrealistic to hope something thats standard in most MMOs and has been in previous MMOs 7 to 10 years ago and since to be in SWTOR?

  10. I think the problem is that WoW has ruined MMOs for everyone. I call it the Micheal Jordan effect. It took over a decade for people to start embracing NBA superstars after Jordan retired, because he was simply just that good of a player. No one seems like a superstar because the memory of Jordan was still fresh in our minds. Its the same thing with WoW; it is the Micheal Jordan of MMO's. As long as games are immediately compared to WoW and measured by WoW standards then games will always fall well short of expectations. If they evaluated every NBA player on Micheal Jordan standards, there would be no one in the NBA right now. I have played several MMO's and I will say that SWTOR is one of the better MMO's, but like any MMO it is crap when compared to the memories of early WoW.

LOL WoW is in no way "the gold standard" in MMO's. Just because millions of snot nosed little kids and basement dwellers play that game in no way make it the best game going.

SWTOR is a WoW clone and is failing because the majority of adults that play MMO's wanted to play SWTOR instead of the cartoony kiddy game that is WOW.But because SWTOR is just a fail WOW clone its falling apart fast.

  11. What I stated does not equate to a reason to make sweeping generalizations.

As a matter of fact you just look foolish at best.

I am not the one who seems to believe they have the right to decide what is:

    A.)Content.

    B.)What counts as 'major'.

BioWare certainly thought it was worth labelling 1.1, Ima take their decisions.

I think we can all agree that a patch to fix something thats broken since launch or was broken due to the previous patch is not considered content.

Hes got you dead in the water with his rift example.
