  1. Seriously, did Bioware ever say Chapter 10 was going to be sooner than February? I heard "early 2016" and "coming soon". Both of those still apply...

They said January. Now it's been pushed back. I really pity all of the people making excuses for them. I was once at that point myself. And a big LEL to the easily misled who cannot recognize or acknowledge what they did with HK-55. You'll all reach this point some day. It's just a matter of what your breaking point is.

  2. I was really excited when this expansion dropped. It seemed the dev team turned a new leaf, and was seriously trying to give the fans what they want. Despite the rocky road after launch, and the fact I haven't played it since early access, I still kept my sub active because I figured it would go to support the upcoming chapters.

Fast forward to late November, where we are hearing DREW KARPYSHYN of all people, among other Bioware employees teasing this unprecedented surprise for subscribers. The Austin branch has been known to overhype things, but again I figured this was a new and revised team. Well color me astounded when I found out that this "unprecedented" over hyped announcement is literally Bioware taking content out of the game, and then putting it up as an incentive for people to sub. I've kept my sub active,e ven though I haven't played since early access. But this is a new low and has turned me off from the game completely. You have a character that people have loved since Kotor, you put him in the game and then immediately kill them off. A couple weeks later, you tell people they can get him back but only if they fork over more money? Seriously? Do you honestly not see the problem with this? Who the hell is handling the marketing over there and why have they not been replaced with a more qualified person? Don't even get me started on our illustrious community manager and his incredible ability for conveying what the community actually wants. The Austin branch isn't even OG Bioware. They have done so much to taint the brand it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The only decent branch seems to be the one that handles the DA franchise. Looking across the forums, I see that I'm not the only one turned off by such despicable practices. I and many in the community had high respect for Drew, seeing him actively participate and promote this ridiculous endeavor has caused him to lose so much credibility now. This game has been bleeding subs because of a severely inept development team, it's as if they are trying to make bad decisions in order to gauge how long it will take for this game to finally crash and burn.

I and many others wanted to bad for this game to reach its potential, and KoTFE looked like it was headed in that direction. But these pathetically desperate endeavors by this team has just reached the boiling point. So now I will join the crowd that will just wait a year and pay $15 for all of the story content. Why should I keep subbing even when I'm not playing when the money is going to crap like this, and not actually improving the story experience any further? I used to see a lot of these threads with walls of text, and people being fed up with this dev teams crap. I used to sit and laugh, defending Bioware. But not anymore, this is truly despicable. Judging by the reaction on the forums, I'm not the only one. It seems the only language you speak is the dollar, and I'm quite sure if you look at your all seeing metrics you will note a significant amount of sub cancellations upon your ludicrous announcement today. EA management must be incredibly forgiving, because any other private sector job will let go people who don't produce good results. Then again the majority of this team came from the failed Warhammer mmo. Shocking. This dev team needs new leadership, someone to come in, clean up and set this game on the path to glorious salvation.

Tl;dr: Bioware's stupid new sub reward program only makes me want to unsub even during the months I don't play. Easier to just sub at the end of the season. This dev team desperately needs new leadership. No you can't have my stuff.

  3. When CNN gets a hold of a story, they run it until it's dead, and then keep running it. As for their obsession with the Donny, all of the media outlets are hoping to get ratings and advertisement money from him. It's why at the debates, they increased their advertisement costs over 15x, and wanted to increase the duration. All they care about is money. To his credit, Trump at least asks them to donate the extra funds to wounded warriors and other veterans groups. Though I sincerely doubt they'll do that.
  4. Agree not being able to outfit the new companions was just stupid. having companion that just buy/earn gifts for, give then BW kill off so cannot use was also stupid.

I like the story for the most part but fell it does not suit non-force class's

And no I still don't like level-sync though it is probably now necessary to be able to earn the packs that you need for post 60 story if a solo player.

People like you are why we can't kill off Quinn like we used to be able to during Beta.

  5. Oh look, another thread made by a PVE hero who's unwilling to acknowledge that STORY was what brought people to SWTOR in the first place. Haven't seen that before.

You do realize they just increased the server capacities. Twice. Last time I checked, they didn't do that when they released space ogre operation IX. Like it or not, people got into this game because we were promised a sequel to KOTOR I and II. We are finally getting that, and general consensus is that KoTFE is a success. So if you want to kill the space boss or grind gear on a repeatable mission for months, there are plenty of alternatives for you. Because the focus on story isn't changing. They've catered to your crowd, and it failed. Story is what this game was marketed for, and they are now successful because they returned to what they should have been doing all along.

  6. This drives me nuts in KOTFE. My sentinel doesn't even have a second lightsaber in cutscenes. It just doesn't exist on her belt.

Be glad you aren't playing as an assassin. The way you hold your saber in the cutscenes, you'd be cutting off your torso.

That's a shame. Gosh, can you imagine the epic fights we would see with 2 dual-wielding people?

Seriously. Wish they had invested resources into this, and doublebladed lightsaber. The latter looks worse in cutscenes.

  7. It's adorable watching people trying to reconcile what Valkorian tells us against what we've seen happen in previous content or what we've heard via the in-game rumor-mill. Why in the name of sanity would anyone trust word one that comes out of Valkorian? My main certainly doesn't. He doesn't trust Valkorian seeing his recent behavior as nothing more than a ploy or act to get my main to lower his defenses.

The numerous apparent "discrepencies" people are labeling "plot holes" are solely due to contradictions in what information we've been getting. The Dark Council members, Marr included, are not 100% trustworthy sources and Vitiate/Valkorian most definitely isn't a trustworthy source. Don't assume that just because a main character says it that it must be so.

As opposed to what the devs outright stated themselves, saying they weren't doing the cliche evil emperor thing? It's adorable that you think Valkorion needs you to lower your "defenses" to begin with. Have you forgotten who this is? What he did to Marr?

  8. The sith warrior/inquisitor were "trained" by mediocre at best sith. Valkorion is THE emperor who has lived for thousands of years. Arcann has also studied with the Scions and Knights of Zakuul, both very powerful organizations. None of the characters are anywhere near Valkorion and his families league of power.

As far as Senya is concerned, so what she flung you around? Dooku did this to Obi Wan in EP3, does that make him any less of a warrior?

  9. With a little bit of Dragon Age kicked in for good measure. That Alliance may as well be the Inquisition.

And KOTFE itself (so far) checks off quite a few entries on the BioWare Cliche Chart.

I felt more in common with the rebel alliance. Down to Odessen almost resembling Yavin from the movies.

All of Bioware's RPGs use an easily recognizable formula. Just seeing "Become the outlander" would let anyone familiar with their games know that the phrase is interchangeable with warden, specter, champion, and inquisitor.

  10. As Bomyne said, Disney is trying to remove anything that could affect viewership of their new movie. Lets be honest, the only ones who like that original trilogy visually regressive era are the neckbeards. But they're under the impression that every star wars fan is going to want to see it. Monthly chapters will resume in January according to Bioware.
