If you kill Vivicar, all of the masters you saved earlier supposedly die... but in the very next quest Yuon shows up in the council chambers. You get a letter confirming her death right after talking to her, and then when you finish Hoth and go back to Tython, you can tell the noetikons that she is alive and well.

 

Now, I like the story (sue me), but that's just lazy...

After your conversation on the new hideout, I believe. There is no quest marker over her, you simply select her to start a convo.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it is because of the RP'rs wanting to tell stories of THEIR particular organization. At first at least, I believe it is more attractive to create a guild that talks about a specific background that your character, characters or group can relate to.
