  1. Hey, team! Long time no see

A lot of great questions here. I'll pass along some clarification from the Developers, regarding the endgame crafting portion of this blog:

    ...

Hope that helps -- keep the feedback coming!

    Best,

    Nick

Still looking for an answer about what is going to happen to the stronghold decoration harvesting nodes for the mats that are getting converted, many of which have unique models which it would be a shame to lose.

  2. What about the gathering node decorations for the materials that are being removed/converted? Are they being converted to normal decorations without the utility, being left as is with the ability to harvest the equivalent materials, being converted entirely to the node of the equivalent material? Some of these are unique looking decorations and it would be a huge shame to lose them. (*hugs her Toxic Phosphorescent Stem tightly*)
  3. It has something to do with getting charged to by knights/warriors. Happens any time I try to roll away from one within maybe 10 seconds of getting charged to or knocked back and jumped on. If those abilities are supposed to keep us from rolling then disallow it and tell us we can't - this makes me super angry not because it keeps us from rolling, but because it wastes the cooldown on the ability.
  4. So while waiting for a queue pop a thought came to mind.. which player is the best at the class they play? So I compiled a list to whom I they are. Feel free to make your own :)

    Sentinel/Marauder: Aroka

    Guardian/Juggernaut: I don't really know a ton 0.o

    Vanguard/Powertech: Urdnoughtshepard

    Sage/Sorc: Lolermelon for them los!

Commando/Merc: I would say Og but I never see him anymore.

    Scoundrel/Op: Sev'row

    Assassin/Shadow: Zuhara

That's great and all, but you left an entire class out.

  5. So far, my technique for dealing with this has been screenshotting the SWTOR chatbox over and over, often having to scroll back to make sure I have everything, then typing everything up in Word from the screenshots.

It is a very, VERY slow process. :< I have such a backlog at the moment.

Chat-logging, please, for the win! I do believe it would also be nicer for dealing with player conflict, to be able to grab chatlogs as well as screenshots to deal with issues.

It is also an unreliable process as sometime the screenshot functionality fails.

    I support this suggestion wholeheartedly.

  6. Ehhh. The solo queue on BC is dead. Like... sitting in the queue for 2 hours and not getting a pop even when I know of 8+ people in the queue dead. It's sad, because the day it _was_ working well, it was the most fun I'd had in pvp in months and months. I dislike the 4v4 comparatively because you run up against so-and-so-and-their-perfectly-composed-group, and I'd really just rather have a chance of winning and still get to play characters I enjoy. Getting my face smashed in because my group composition is less than optimal is not really fun, you know?

I think both issues could be addressed by making the solo ranked queue less profitable than the 4v4 and at the same time opening it up to the f2p/preferred folks. Maybe also giving 4v4s a slightly better return on losses, too? That'd give subs an incentive to do 4v4 more, because of better returns, and make the solo queue more populated at the same time.

  7. I came from Catskills Ultima Online probably the greatest RP community in any game I've ever played no other game has really lived up to that and doubt ever will.

Some of the things I see that are a little annoying are when people emote a thought or action and what they're saying in one emote.

This should not happen and is an rp foul. You emote your action and say what your going to say. This is pretty common rp basics and the cantina is filled with people breaking this all the time. Also rp is not done through tells you speak to the person. If you do these things have a l little imagination you should be fine.

    This comes across as:

"Look at how much better and more qualified I am than you all! Because I am better and more qualified than you, I get to dictate the rules to you! If you don't do things the way we did them at awesome-community-x you are ovbs doing it wrong and you suck."

Which... really doesn't help anything. It's just a style issue. If you want to complain about people emoting their thoughts as if everyone around them could read their minds? I could see that. But people do things and talk at the same time all the time. It's silly to fault people for rping such.

  8. The addition of an item that could add a dye slot to currently undyeable items (low level moddables, lore outfit pieces, green quality items, etc.) would probably be a substantial seller, especially if it was moderately priced (somewhere between 50 and 100 cartel coins). I know that I would buy several.

The ability to buy dyes a-la-carte without having to take the gamble of dye kits would also probably do quite well - I know that neither I nor my friends are really bothering with the dye kits anymore because the chance of getting a desired color pair (or of getting color pairs that are worth enough to sell on the GTN to come anywhere close to funding the buying of a desired color pair) is entirely too low. Dye kits currently cost 200 cartel coins - I would guess that people would be willing to pay more than that to just get the one they want (such as the much coveted black/black).

Another item that could become a significant seller would be a dye item that allowed the player to slot a primary and secondary dye into it - essentially creating custom color pairs. Coupled with an increase in the available primary and secondary colors available this would greatly increase the ability of customers to create looks that they like.

I would like to suggest a large increase in the colors of dyes available as well, but I would like to think that you are already working on that, as the range of colors and color pairs available is rather lackluster.

  9. As a PT, my general rule at the beginning of every Huttball match is to type out:

"Get into passing positions, on the ramps and across the fires. PTs, Snipers and Maras clear mid and grab the ball, to pass to the runners. Never be the first person to grab the ball. Let someone else get it and then blow him up."

I love Huttball, but only if I luck into a team that knows how to pass the ball forward and not get stuck into little 1v1s around the map.

Why would you not want to pick up the ball? You really never want the other team to get their hands on it, and picking it up yourself if you're the closest one to it is the best way to do that (and then immediately passing it off, or ditching, or whatever if you don't think you can survive with it). If you let them pick it up, you take the chance of them having someone set up to pass to, leap to, or to pull the ball carrier, and then you will have to chase them to stop the score which is ...not really optimal. When two good teams are playing each other, it very often comes down to who picks up the ball first.

  10. You get around the 'people not knowing how to play the game' by starting matches like Semah does: you tell people how they can be useful, providing them with basic information such as: "if you're carrying the ball and you are a tank, drop guard so you can be guarded" or "try to get ahead of your ball carriers (across fires especially) to take passes or be leaping posts." So many people hate the map because they don't understand it and consequently get rolled by teams that do.

As a sniper, I set up on the top catwalk on the opposing team's side, so I can be a pass target/leap target, and once we have the ball, I start positioning myself past the fires for the same purpose. I also like to flashbang people from the top catwalk so that the ball carrier can cross the endzone unimpeded. Depending on how things are going, I will sometimes set up at the top of the other team's ramp for passes, leaps, general annoyance - they get so mad when I am sitting there for some reason. *blinks innocently* Occasionally I run the ball, because no one expects me to, but, really, I would much rather pass and go back to controlling mid once that is an option. When I am at mid I will drop down to pick up the ball if no one else is available to and try to get it to someone else by passing or running and passing, or if no one is available, holding it and then ditching it to delay the other team's ability to get it while my team gets into position. And of course, there is always the old standby of 'making them annoyed enough with me that they will start paying more attention to killing me than they do to what is going on with the ball. Snipers are much more versatile and useful in huttball than people think. Shhh. Don't tell anyone, though. Let them think we are a sucky one-trick pony.

Also, honestly, although huttball favors classes with better mobility, I find that I miss having it more in other maps - voidwaffle especially. I still hate you, stupid fence.

    ~<{ Livia-Augusta Solanum ~ 50 Sniper ~ <Some Sith and a Spy> ~ Begeren Colony }>~

    ~<{ V'yenn Solanum ~ 50 Gunslinger ~ <Some Smugglers and a Sage> ~ Begeren Colony }>~

  11. Livia and I were doing some <50s on both sides yesterday and the situation was pretty dire, no matter which faction we were playing.

This, and honestly, I think it's largely the same at 50. So many people play both sides that it's kind of absurd (as Desi said) to keep bringing up "one side is better than the other" stories. I do about the same vs. pubs as I do in imp vs. imp games.

  12. I would _love_ a slave girl outfit variant in silver and black. I would also love for the skirt part to be attached to a belt and not the top, because it would be nice to be able to have the top without it because of clipping issues with most pants/skirts.

Also, moddable versions of the _green_ plasteel battle jacket (which is a nice red and gold shirt with a scarf on t he pub side and a nice uniform top on the imp side) would be much appreciated.

  13. Also, custom emotes. Custom emotes really ought to show cross-faction. It makes role-playing so awkward when someone doesn't realize that they don't carry over, because you can miss significant portions of what the person you are interacting with is doing or saying.
  14. Honestly, not only is he awful, which is fine, more or less, but he also reads as sexually predatory in the early conversation on Belsavis and again in the first conversation on the ship. It is incredibly creepy and I could very easily see it being triggering for anyone who had trauma of a similar nature in their past.
  15. MM is only good for killing healers. Primarily sorc healers, beyond that in pvp white damage is constantly being mitigated by almost every class in the game.
I am going to have to disagree with you here. My MM sniper eats maras/sents for breakfast, and is fairly good against non bh/trooper tanks, but since 1.3 is much iffier on healers (other than sorc/sage, who are still super squishy to her) than she used to be because of the reduction in her burst's well... burstiness.

It's really not the optimal pvp spec, no. It's still an awful lot of fun, though.

  16. I play an entirely pvp MM sniper, for reference.

1.How do you think your Sniper spec is perceived by other classes?
I don't think that players of other classes really have any perceptions about my spec, per se, unless, of course they look at the numbers at the end of a match and see how much less impressive mine are than those of other snipers who are specced differently. Otherwise I feel that I am mostly viewed by opponents as an easy target, because I am very squishy, even in full WH, or as a threat that needs to be taken out ASAP, depending on whether they have played with/against me. I get focused a lot, and I die a lot. It gets very frustrating, even if I generally use my power for distracting the other team to my team's benefit (and I do).

    2. How do you perceive your own spec?
I don't feel that I am ineffective, but I think MM compares pretty poorly to the other two specs in pvp - less survivability, less mobility, less damage overall, but I still vastly prefer it, because I enjoy how it plays, and have no intention of switching. I don't feel that I am contributing as much as I was before 1.3, both in comparison to the other two specs and also in comparison to other classes whose damage is less likely to get mitigated than mine is. It's kind of embarrassing to keep seeing (for example) a similarly skilled and similarly geared lethality sniper doing twice as much damage as I do and dying significantly less.

Edit: I also wanted to say that I love the cover mechanic, it makes the class interesting and unique to play - but I really wish it wasn't quite as broken as it is.

  17. It depends on how you choose to interpret it yourself i think. For my agent I looked at it more as getting knocked unconscious rather than killed, and when it happened to her she would just get up and go back to the fight more determined to win because she was angry about having taken a beat-down on top of whatever reason she already had to be there. She tended to throw herself into fights without much concern for her own well-being, though.
